She moved swiftly, her head up high and her eyes sparkling, much like a cub who'd just achieved something for the first time. Like stalking, or hunting, or leaping. Aysu had, in fact, been hunting and she did carry a kill in her mouth. The childlike glee in her face told of her pride in such a thing, despite the fact the kill was only a bird.
It hung limp and ragged in her mouth, moulting feathers every now and again, leaving them to settle behind like autumn leaves.
Even still, Aysu was proud of herself. She wanted to prove that she could be useful - especially to her father - and making a kill like this proved that she could at least bring food when it was needed.
Okay, so Suijin hadn't specifically told her that he needed food, but he'd just come back from a long journey and he probably needed the nourishment! Besides, she didn't want to just fade into the background now that the new ones were here...she wanted to be the favourite!! She wanted to shine brighter than the others. For him to look adoringly at her. For him to think her best.
Nothing else would do.

Suijin charged forward with little regard to how closely his children were following him. He would check back occasionally to make sure that none of them had wandered off, there would be dire consequences if any had. He paused ever so briefly to look back and found that only his son Taiga had managed to keep close enough. He felt himself growling as he turned towards the male who resembled him so closely. "Go find your siblings and meet me at the lake, continue to go straight from here, I have someone I have to go see," he stated gruffly before turning and continuing forward without waiting for a response.
Taiga was a smart boy who would do anything to please someone, he would do directly as directed.
Suijin's clear blue eyes scanned the area around him searching for signs of his daughter. "Aysu!" he barked when he could not see her. He had been gone for quite sometime and he hoped she was waiting for him.

She heard him calling and quickened her pace as much as she could without tripping over anything. The bird in her mouth was getting more and more tatty as she carried it, especially now that her jaw had clenched around as she had moved after.
And, with a bounding step, she emerged from the undergrowth and spotted him, approaching.
She tried to speak but found the bird muffling her words, so, threw the kill aside as if it were nothing and loped towards him.
"Father!" She smiled widely at him. "Father! There you are! Are you okay?" She enquired, dipping her head and ears submissively. She adored him but as far as she was concerned, he was boss. And then she remembered that the kill she had made had been for him and she'd...she'd just thrown it aside.
Oops...
She glanced backwards briefly to catch sight off it lying stretched across the ground.
Maybe he wouldn't notice...

As she stepped out of the trees and towards he felt a small smile spread across his lips. She was still here, good. It meant that her mother had not yet found out where they had gone to. Although he was certain that he could easily best the dark blue lioness once again he was worried that she would appear when he wasn't around. Aysu needed him to protect her, a fact they were both aware of.
"I'm fine," he replied more sharply than he had intended. He couldn't help it, he had been rather agitated for the last few days. One of his sons had disobeyed him and refused to come along in favor of remaining with his mother. Had the green lioness not been present at the time he would have made it clear that it was a bad decision.
He shook his head, there was no reason to take out his frustrations on his daughter. She was nothing but loyal to him, she would do anything he wanted her to do, and without question. "How have things been here?"

She smiled up at him, ever the doting, adoring daughter. "Quiet." She replied. "Lonely. I'm glad your back, Father. I missed you." She purred softly, noting however that there was clearly something on his mind. She'd gotten to know him quite well during the time they had spent together.
"How about you, Father? Did everything go well with your...collecting?" She had to admit she'd been worried about the whole thing. But he had seemed confident and it was apparently not misplaced. He was standing here before her, after all.
She glanced behind him as if expecting to see them behind him. But there was no one. She released a soft breath and let the smile slip easily back into place.

"No signs of the...unwelcomed?" He questioned quietly, scanning the surroundings as if someone was going to lunge at them. "You're going to miss me a lot," he stated plainly. It was a known fact that he still had a lot of unfinished business to attend to. Like beating the s**t of that cocky red b***h that had gotten the better of him. He would not let her best him again, he was going to kill her the next time he saw her.
He realized he was growling when Aysu tried to speak with him. "Fine," he was still angry about the whole thing. "One refused to come though," he stated shaking his head. He couldn't understand why this litter had been so soft-hearted. It seemed like none of them had taken anything from him except for his appearance. He supposed that it was partially his fault for not being around more but he was not exactly welcome in the pride. Especially when they got wind of him wanting to 'collect' his children and take them away.
He snorted as he looked back in the direction in which he had come. "I will introduce you later, Taiga is rounding them up and sending them to the lake," he shrugged seeming not to care that she knew little of who Taiga was.

"Nope." Anya replied. "I was a bit worried but, I think you must have scared them away." She tipped her head. "I like to think that if Mother was going to come, she'd have come by now." Besides...she thought miserably. It's not as if her mother had ever loved her.
She assumed that Taiga was one of his other children, or at the very least, another who had joined them on their way. Even still...she wasn't happy to hear about the others arriving, even though she knew she should be. She put on a smile anyway and bit back the jealousy.
"Well, the one who refused, its his loss. He had a chance to come with you and live a better life. He passed that up." She shrugged a little. "If he's of that mentality, maybe its best he did stay away."
She leaned closer, touching her nose gently to his shoulder. "I'd like to meet them very much. It'll be nice to have others around."
So long as they stayed out of her way when she wanted to spend some time with her most favourite lion in the whole, wide world!!

"I doubt that," he replied. It wasn't that he didn't think that he could scare them away but all of the lions he had managed to piss off were very stubborn creatures. Especially Horowai, he had seen just how angry she was with him. She would be coming after Aysu, not necessarily because she loved her daughter, but because she loathed her daughter's father.
He was accustomed to being hated, it didn't bother him in the slightest. But the hate that filled the female was stronger than any other hate he had felt towards him. She was cunning too, for the most part, she could strike at any moment. But that was what made it fun, he loved a challenge. The more dangerous the better.
"Your mother is more stubborn than you may realize," he told her. And more dangerous than you think, he thought to himself. When the topic swung back around to his other children he shrugged. "Perhaps, then again they're all too soft-hearted for their own good," he mumbled disgusted.
"Occasionally yes," he agreed. Company could be rather pleasant.

"Hmm..." Her smile drifted away, leaving her looking thoughtful and troubled. If Horowai did come for her, what would she do? Could she fight and win? She might have to fight if Suijin was away at the time. She'd have to win. Because if she didn't, she'd never get to see her father again and to think of the dissapointment on his face...
She didn't want him to be dissapointed in her!
"When she comes...if she comes...I'll be ready for her, Father. I won't let her take me away from you. I'll never go back there. I don't love her. I love you. I'll always be here and she won't come between that." It was perhaps a childish notion, but she genuinely believed it. If she loved her Father and this land enough, then no one could take it from her. She'd rather die rather than be dragged back to that place...the place where her mother's scornful eyes would watch her every move. Scolding her. Treating her as inferior, not just because she was a Shikar-i. But because she had been Suijin's Shikar-i. But she wasn't that anymore. She was free. She was Suijin's daughter, and that was all that mattered.
"Maybe next time you go out into the world, I could go with you, Father? I wouldn't be any trouble. I promise!"

"You may try," he retorted quickly when she stated that she would fight her mother. "But if things look dim you must flee, there are caves behind the waterfalls, you will be safe there," he stated giving no more direction concerning that subject. He wouldn't tell her, there was no purpose, but he knew she wouldn't stand much of a chance against a seasoned fighter like her mother. He had bested her easily because he could read her like an adult human could read a children's book. Now he wasn't certain that he could, she acted with more unpredictability than she had before.
He was still prepared, he was still confident that he could defeat her without a hitch. She was only a minor threat.
"You need to tell me if you even think you see her lurking around. I want to put her in her place." Suijin had plans for Horowai. Plans the female most certainly would not like.
His expression grew much darker when she asked if she could accompany him the next time he left. "No." he growled. "No. This is business dealing with my past and only I will be the one to deal with it," he stated sharply. "You will be a good little girl and stay here as I have instructed you." he turned to face her to understand just how serious he was. "Do. You. Understand?"

She nodded solemnly. "I will, Father." But would she really? She was stubborn, like her mother, and if it came to it, could she bear to turn and flee instead of staying and fighting?
She may have been a Shikar-i. May not have been as well trained as the rest of her family, but she still had a warrior's spirit if not a warrior's skill.
"And I will. I'll tell you straight away, Father." She beamed up at him, eyes idolising him as always. However, she flinched and drew away a little as he angered, knowing full well that she had been the cause and hating herself for it. She gave a small whimper, creeping forwards after he had finished speaking.
"I'm sorry, Father." She replied carefully. "I will. I'll stay here and protect the lands for you whilst you're gone." She nodded. "I understand." And she tentatively reached up, licking his maw apologetically.

Suijin watched, through slitted eyes, as she shrank back from him. She knew what he was like when he was angry, although she had only truly seen it once. When her mother had hurt her, it was the main reason the dark blue female had retreated so quickly. If she had tried he would have attacked her with the intent of killing her. If he had succeeded he would have moved on without even glancing back.
He wasn't afraid to get a little blood on his paws. He'd done it before and he'd do it again. Suijin was not the type of male to let anything stand in his way. He wouldn't let anyone stand in his way. He was king and he'd be damned if he didn't make that clear.
"If you don't the will be consequences," he stated cooly hardly any emotion in his tone. "The issues I must deal with are consequences from my actions as a child, I was a fool and now I must fix what I have done wrong," he explained, barely. "I will not allow you to make the same mistakes that I did. Being stubborn could very well be your downfall Aysu."

She bowed her head, nodding slowly. "I understand, Father. I'll do as you say. I promise will. I love you, Father, and I'll never, ever let you down."
She reached forwards again, nuzzling against his mane gently.
Then, with a small sigh she stepped back and looked up into his face. Some might wander why she cared for him so much, especially with his often cold exterior. But as far as Aysu was concerned, he was her saviour. He was all she ever needed and wanted.
"Oh!" And then she remembered the meal she had hunted for him and quickly went to retrieve it from the ground. A few more feathers fell loose as she made her way back to him, setting it gently in front of him.
"For you...if you're hungry." She dipped her ears sheepishly.

"I will hold you to that," he told her pressing his chin against the top of her head. He stepped closer to her pulling her in close with one of his paws. He let his paw linger on her back, letting himself lean against her. He was allowing her, in a sense, to support him. Though not in the way she wanted and he knew it.
He didn't care.
He pulled back as she pulled away from him to prevent himself from falling. His eyes followed her never leaving her form except to glance at the kill she presented him with. He wasn't sure how he should respond because he knew she worked hard and yet he had no appetite.
A part of him didn't want to turn her offering away and yet another part, the cruel, sadistic side that often showed, didn't seem to care. "The effort is appreciated but unnecessary now Aysu, leave it in my den and I will eat it later. For now I have more business to attend to."
He was being harsh and he was aware but it was a part of who he was and if his daughter couldn't accept that, then she could not accept him as she claimed she did.

Her face fell for the briefest of moments but she replaced it quickly with a smile. It didn't matter when he ate it so long as he did. And wasn't it better, anyway, to eat when one was hungry and not just for the sake of eating? He'd appreciate it much more that way.
"Okay. I'll do that right away so its ready for when you get back."
She paused, tilted her head a little and then said, "I'll see you later, Father." And, slowly she picked up the kill and loped off towards his den to hide the food there. She'd hang around a while, also, to make sure no scavengers came and stole it whilst he was away.
