Rules

Use these as you wish.

This is mainly for mentors training apprentices.

You are allowed to add your own teachings when you train your apprentice, these are just standard basics.

There's really nothing else. owo

Battle Training

The Basics!

Approach tactic-an attack/movement allowing you to get closer to the enemy. Usually the beginning move.
Primary attack- a move following the approach attack.
Secondary attack- a follow-up attack for the primary attack.
Counter- an attack to block an opponent's attack.

Charge Switch -approach tactic
Charge in one direction at the enemy, then, at the last second, swerve in the opposite direction, confusing the opponent, and strike.

Trip-Primary/Secondary attack, also a counter
Literally. Use your big size to your advantage and trip smaller cats.

Dash- approach tactic
Dash around quickly. Can be used to dart in many directions, confusing the enemy, or to actually run under or beside the enemy. Move quickly and strike fast. For smaller and quicker cats.

Belly Slide- approach tactic/primary attack.
Run towards an enemy, then slide under opponent's belly, raking claws accross underside. Risky move; they can slam down on you. Try to gain enough momentum as you run to slide completely under and out of their belly.

Crunch- secondary attack.
Clamp down on some part of opponent's bodywith jaws, and bite down with all your might, shaking head from side to side. Desperate move for someone losing a battle, but can do serious damage anywo.

Rip/Slash- primary/secondary attack.
Swing paws wildly forward in succession, wildly tearing into opponent. Leaves belly slightly unprotected. For quicker cats.

Tackle, Drop, and Roll!- primary/secondary attack, can also be a counter.
Tackle your enemy, drag them down to the ground, and begin a roll. More of an aid for your Clan members. For stronger cats.

Aim for the Eyes!- secondary attack/counter
Slash at the opponent cat's eyes. Will distract them from your Clanmates or prevent them from attacking you as the reel in pain.

Slit the Throat- secondary attack.
Hopefully, your aim isn't to kill, but if it is, always go for the throat. If you're big enough, you can break your opponent's spine.

Combination of Moves

Dash and Charge Switch
Dash around confusing the enemy. Suddenly dash straigh for them, then suddenly switch directions and completely confuse them as you strike.

Rip/Slash and Crunch
While biting, sink your claws into your opponent's pelt and pull in succession, ripping deep scars in their flank.

Charge Switch and Trip
Just as you change directions, trip the opponent, causing them even more confusion, and even exposing their underbelly.

Get the idea? You can mix and match these moves for different results.

Examples:
Dash, Charge Switch, Trip
Dash, Belly Slide, Crunch
Charge Switch, Trip, Rip/Slash
and so on!

Hunting Training!

The Basics!

Tracking Technique-track the prey with these moves.
Hunting Technique- hunting moves at the prey until it's weak/cornered.
Final Blows- the killing blow.

Downwind- tracking
Remain downwind of the prey-or just generally downwind- so nothing can smell you first.

Surroundings Check- tracking/hunting
Assess your surroundings. Check for traces of prey-droppings, bones. Make sure you aren't too close to the border. Also note where twigs or leaves are so you don't alert the prey as you approach.

Pounce- hunting
Literally, pounce on the prey. Try to hit it on the first pounce. For smaller prey, quickly pin it down. For larger prey, make sure to make it more of a tackle, and try to pin them down as best you can.

Throat Slit- final blow
Slit its throat. Almost instant death. More for larger prey, but of course it'll kill smaller ones.

Break the Spine- final blow
Press down as hard as you can with your paw or bite it hard with your jaws. Will break the spine and instantly kill the prey. More for smaller animals, but you can try it on larger ones.

That's all. Good luck training!
