It was a late summer day, and most of all foxes who enjoyed the rising temperatures, frolicked outside merrily.
Inibi, rather hating the heat and sunlight, preferred to be nice and cool inside the huge expanses of the shop, although that came with a price. Although quiet and cool, there was no one around to talk to. With everyone being outside, the shop was almost deserted, so the alien-like fox was curled up in the rafters, gazing off into space, but alert to anyone who may have ventured in

While it was eerie with the lack of people in the shop, it was also comforting for Wikus. No one to give him odd looks for his behavior and arm, and no one in armor to point a gun at him. It was peace for the fugitive. In fact, it was just enough for him to freely sit out in the open with his mutated arm in the face of the walled world, pulling open a can of cat food a bit reluctantly. He was addicted, and could not help it. Even with the transformation stalled, he had to wonder What is happening to me? Why can I not keep myself from this disgusting animal food?

Hearing the small amount of noise, brought the odd fox back to reality. She perked her ears up. "Has someone come in that I missed?" she whispered quietly to herself, slowly allowing he body to rise up from the rafter on which she was sitting. Like a cat, she whisked her tail up in the air and scurried over to where she could get a better look. Sure as rain, when she looked down, there was a familiar face sitting out for the world to see.
She hovered down, but still hung upside down and floated just out of site of his peripherals. "Hi!" she beamed, being prepared to get cat food in the face or something crazy like that

Well of course the little pink stuff would fly. However, it was just a little, as Wikus had just been swallowing the bits in his mouth and the sudden loud noise caused him to choke and cough and sputter. Wikus's head automatically aimed for the floor, where the cat food pieces sprayed. Only a few came out, the rest swallowed as he recovered from the shock. He cough-grunted a little more for good measure before he would look for who had spoken.

She pulled back a bit, fearing she would get some of the animal food on her, but he immediate concern was focused on to help the oddball. If he where choking severely she would have to do something, but to her fortune, he recovered.
"Sorry. I didn't mean to scare you like that....."she paused and her glowing eyes looked mischievously to the upper left while a little grin came over her face. "Well...maybe a little..but not to do you harm"

Upon seeing and hearing who it was, Wikus grumbled a "Fok" and rubbed his face. It wasn't hostile and he didn't get into a huge choking fit. Okay. "Uh, yeah, hi." he responded to Inibi's words when his mind finally decided to process them. "Don't-just don't do that again, yeah?"
It was then time to look up at her again, and her position in the air and her position itself prompted Wikus to ask "What are you doing?"

She rolled her eyes harmlessly and brought them back to him, just in time for his question. "I'm...Having fun. Do you not do that from where you come from?" she asked harmlessly, rolling back over to seemingly be lying in mid air

"Of course I have...had that." Wikus replied, "but it is not floating or whatever you are doing up there." His world was grounded like many wingless or untalented foxes; by his look he was unable to understand the 'fun' Inibi was having, and he didn't know whether to be offended or not at the previous question.
He also did not know what to say otherwise, so he decided to clean up what he had spilled on the floor.

Slightly dispirited, the odd ball plopped on the other end of the couch. Making sure to give him space as she didn't want to offend him further. She tilted her head as he cleaned up the mess. But then again, she understood, someone had to clean up the result of her prank, she was just surprised that he would take the initiative to do so.
'Wikus right?" she was bad with names. She preferred giving people nicknames, but again, she figured he'd be offended by that too

Wikus nodded, while his eyes stayed on the ground for another moment as he finished up cleaning with a handy tissue. "And yours is...?" he realized as the words came out that he never learned the alien's name, or he had a worse memory than he though. That would be embarrassing, to say the least. Wikus made eye contact with Inibi again at that point, a little relieved that now she was at eye level instead of having to strain to see her.

She mumbled his name a few times trying to see if it will stick, while her gaze slowly fell to the floor with a concentrated look. Then darting her head back up when he said something she couldn't help but feel a little sad that he didn't remember hers.
"Oh..well...I don't remember my real name...but..Everyone just calls me Inibi." she stated very bluntly

"I...ni...bi." Wikus was not at all used to a name like that. "Erm...you don't remember your own name? That is sad." The way he looked and said that was not in a mocking way whatsoever. He couldn't imagine what it would be like to forget his own name. With that, he briefly wondered if he would lose that and more if he fully became a prawn, and shuddered.
"You seem more like a "muti" to me." Wikus could barely be heard saying it, hoping to not offend with a new name. The idea came from remembering her offer to help and find a cure, with it meaning 'medicine' and 'witchcraft' and 'miracle' and the like. That and he would be more likely to remember a word he knew.

Putting on a small frown as he commented on her memory. She couldn't help but give a hint of a glare. Not a hugely noticeable one, but to the trained eye, it could be seen. "I'm sorry if I can't remember my own name. It was a very hard landing" she remarked with her subtle glare subsiding
Looking over, with more confusion than ever, she tilted her head at the nickname as she was assuming that's what it was. "Muti?" she repeated, staring him down with more confusion than ever. Wasn't her current nickname not good enough?

"Landing?" Wikus repeated back. At the moment, he couldn't understand that... UNLESS. "Landing like the prawns? From space?"
And then there was 'Muti'. "Ah, well, yes, that was just a thought. I mean, it's not that big a deal, yeah? It's just a word from where I come from. 'Miracle', the way my language uses it." In that moment he shifted his position a little.

She nodded slowly. "Yes..Landed..from space..Only I didn't have a ship. I just..fell" she realized at that point that she had said probably too much. She shyed away, even further of hearing that he was just trying to find her a nickname as well
