The day was not young, the sun was low in the sky, birds had settled down and most of the pack had gone to lay down and relax before bunking for the night. Tempest just couldn't lay still. Her pelt shivered uncontrollably and she growled, her nerves were simply shot. Her mind was wracked with terrible nightmares, darkness, then howling, familiar howling. Her Father, trying to comfort her during the night. Lights danced among the nights embrace, unnatural lights.
She remembers growling, wishing for her Mothers warm embrace at night, comforting her, telling her everything was right in the world. Something she never grew up with. Where her sister and brother lacked a Father figure, herself and Raiden lacked a Mother. The softer side of life. Where had life gone wrong.
She thought fondly of Raiden and hummed softly, reminding herself of Aleutian, her sister, the one she barely knew. The wolf she could barely relate to beyond blood, her nose wrinkled slightly and she sighed. Her Father had no control of what happened, she blamed no one for what happened, for her current attitude towards life or anything. She was Tempest, a temper dwelled deep in her fluffy pelt, something she got from both sides of her parents.
The act of controlling it was never taught, there was no time in between survival.
Now it was calm, she was home. Her mind drew a blank. "Home." She mumbled softly and let her rump hit the ground, a breeze helped calm her a little, but her nerves still twitched uncomfortably. "Home?" She asked herself and pondered quietly to herself.

Aleu was enjoying the quiet that the approaching night brought to the lands. While she loved to hear the birds sing and other noises that she could form into a song, she could also appreciate the silence. It allowed one to clear their mind, think on things and even sometimes hear something that would otherwise be covered up by all those other sounds. Of course what Aleu heard in the quiet was not at all what she expected to hear. Was someone humming? Lifting her head Aleu's ears turned towards the entrance of her den. That was indeed humming, and Aleu wasn't one to ignore such a thing. So she pulled herself up and crawled out of her den to see just who had grabbed her attention.
She half wanted it to be Verse. Ever since that night a while back when she cornered him in his den and shared her feelings for him she had been spending more and more time with him. But she knew that wasn't the case, the voice had been too feminine. Eyes scanned the area as she padded forward a bit slowly until they settled on Tempest. No, she couldn't have been the one who was humming. But no one else was around. Aleu almost turned around and went back into her den, she hadn't spoke with Tempest much since she had returned with their father just because Tempest was so distant. But tonight she decided against her first instinct to leave and instead continued forward towards her sister. "Tempest." She said in her soft melodic voice not sure whether her sister was willing to accept the company or not.

Tempest had heard a breath, the slinking, the hesitation even rang clear in her mind. The shaky voice was least to catch her off guard. She had traveled a wilderness where no sound could go unheard. She turned her head slowly, allowing her silver orbs to gaze fondly on her sister. She was a codl soul, frozen to the harsh climates of being outside the pack, outside of safety. "Aleutian." She said in an equally soft tone, the tip of her tail flicked ina welcome and she looks away. Her gaze immediately swept up to their moon.
"It's been a while since we spoke last." She recalled it was in fact when she had been, but a young adult when they had spoke, the night was stormy, her Father was very ill and their her sister was, dragging her away. Tempest had feared, on that night, that she would never see her Father again. She almost teared up there on teh spot, but tears would do nothing, instead she locked it away and bottled it with the rest of her emotions.
"How have you been?" Tempest welcomed the company with a conversation starting question. Her ears flicked to where Aleu was, listening.

Aleu continued foward, sitting down not far from her sister. She wasn't sure if Tempest liked others close to her, so she left a bit of distance between them. Best to not push her luck too quickly given that Tempest seemed to be in a mood to talk. "It has been quite a while." She agreed as her eyes too moved to the moon. Sitting quietly for a moment to just enjoy the peace of the night Aleu glanced at her sister.
"I have been doing good. Keeping myself busy." A smile crossed her maw as she looked at Tempest. For the first time in a long time she didn't look like a ghost of her former self. She was coming back slowly, much like father was. The thought of what had been said between herself, father and mother flickered through her mind. Did Tempest know yet that they may try for more pups? Best not to bring it up. "And how have you been?"

She sensed quickly something had crossed Aleu's mind, that hesitation of something hit the air again and sent a shiver through Tempest, she breathed slow, it calmed her down best. "I have been good, slowly regaining what sanity I have left to piece together." She nodded, her eye's were closed as she gathered herself. "It's been tough, Father has become something of an inspiration the way he's been recovering. Mother is to thank for that I suppose. Shows how good it is to have someone there." Tempest felt her head involuntarily lower.
She'd never known much of love, she knew her Fathers distracted love, while he was off protecting her brother and her she provided the love for herself which quickly turned on her. She admired what her Mother and Father had, wishing it for herself some day.
"Have you met any boys Aleu?" She asked tempting a conversation, perhaps tips or even a small list of free males. She wasn't a great huntress when it came to game, but she assumed that hunting down a mate would be easy as pie. Her gaze shifted to her sister, a warm curious glint echoed its' glitter and she wore a full blown wolfish grin. She was playing her role as a sister now.

Aleu smiled and lowered herself down to lay beside Tempest. "I'm glad you two are recovering from this." She said, though honestly the question still burned inside of what had actually happened to them. Aleu would ask that eventually of either Tempest or her father, but not now, not when they had the first opportunity in a long time to just sit and talk.
Her smile widened at her sisters question. "One or two." She replied, letting out a small laugh. "I don't leave the pack lands much, so most of the males I have met are from within." And most of the males in the pack were either related to her or just not Aleu's type in all honestly. What type of male Tempest might be looking for Aleu had no idea. She let out another laugh as she remembered one of her few trips outside of the pack's border. "This one time, I had wandered out not far past the border, and I ran into this really weird wolf. And she didn't just act weird, she looked weird, she had like skull and bone markings on her fur." Aleu almost shuddered at the mere thought of the wolf, before continuing. "I thought she was going to eat me." Glancing back to Tempest she cursed herself for changing the subject, she hadn't meant to but it just happened. "But I haven't met many boys yet." Aleu wasn't sure if she should tell her sister about her and Verse, or if she knew already through random talkings in the pack.

Tempest was free today, free of her emotions and smiled as Aleu began chattering about a female whom had come near enough the pack borders that Aleu had crossed. "Yeah, the boys here aren't very interesting anyway!" She whispered excitedly for only Aleu's ears. She had missed this, even in the beginning they hadn't been very close, but now it's almost as if they grew up tied to the paw.
"I missed you Aleu, I missed home.. I'm glad we're back. And I'm sure you'll find a very nice mate." She smiles encouragingly, her mind had already made up a plot to leave pack lands and find some boys, she wasn't a fling thing perhaps, but seeing her parents, she wanted that.
Something about how Aleu was answering, she almost seemed to be biting something back. "You sure you aren't hiding something from me?" She poked teasingly, tail swishing about her sister playfully.

Aleu had to let out a laugh. Tempest was right for the most part, the majority of the males around the pack weren't very interesting. Eyes flicked away for a moment then returned her her sister. "I missed you too." Aleu did wonder sometimes what it would have been like growing up with Tempest to play with. They probably would have been very close, but they could be close now right?
Tempests question made Aleu shift a bit. She didn't want to make her sister feel uncomfortable by mentioning her and Verse's relationship. But here she was asking if she was holding something from her, and Aleu just couldn't lie. "Well..." She began as she glanced at the dirt under her paws. "I might have found a mate already." That wasn't so bad, she could tell Tempest things like sisters normally would. Now to answer the question she was sure Tempest would ask. "You remember Verse, the pup that Merrill found a while back. Well he's not a pup anymore." She said with a smile, Verse had grown into a very handsome wolf in his time here. "And...well, I love him." Aleu let out a half laugh. "Even if he does like poetry more than singing."

She gasps at her sister, she vaguely remembered the scampering pup at play during the feast on her, Raiden and her Fathers return. "Soooo your into the younger men eh?" She giggled happily. "I never really spoke to him so he must be good at heart if you're interested in him.. I'm sorry if you loove him." Deep down Tempest was slightly jealous, she teased easily though, enjoying herself.
"So have you told him yet?" She asks slowly. "And poetry, icky stuff right there! I'm all for your singing though, so pretty!" She doted happily, loving her sister was easy, she hadn't imagined talking would be this easy!

Aleu scoffed at her sister slightly. "He's not that much younger that me." Bumping her shoulder into Tempest in a playful manner indicating that she knew her sister was joking. Giving her head a nod Aleu looked out at the moonlit trees. "Yeah he knows. I tried for the longest time to tell him, but every time I did he would run away." She laughed remembering all those awkward conversations. "I thought about giving up on him, but I just couldn't do so without at least telling him how I felt. So one night after everyone was asleep I sneaked into his den, so that he was cornered with no where to go." Her head shook slightly as she recalled that night, how when Verse woke up he hit his head on the top of his den, how she thought she had made a mistake.
"At first I thought he was going to try to dig his way out of his den since I deliberately blocked the entrance. But then he did something I wasn't expecting. He sang to me." Aleu laughed and shook her head again. "Oh Tempest it was horrible, his tone was so off I wanted to hit him." Her voice was filled with happiness. "But when I realized just what he was singing I knew that he loved me as well."

"Well i'll be damned! I never thought I'd hear the day that you'd corner anything!" She smirked pleasantly. "Poor guy probably felt his skin crawl as you blocked his way to freedom! Though I am pleased to hear he feels the same." He teasing smirks, gossiping voice became softer and more compassionate.
"I'm proud of you sister! Aleu, my sister a mated broad." She giggled happily, excitedly, for mating meant puppies and puppies meant new life, a new chance, a new world. Tempest felt that wave of jealousy strike deep, but she ignored it, nothing would destroy this moment, nothing would destroy the chance at a real bond with one of her siblings besides her brother Raiden.
"When is it that I'll re-meet Verse?" She asked expectantly. She presumed a re-meeting would be in order eventually, a stare down, make sure he's ready to take on her sister as a full time partner. Tempest imagined he was ready, but enjoyed pestering her sister for info.

Aleu sat up and gave her sister a mock hurt look, but it didn't last that long before her smile returned. Reaching up with her paw she gave Tempest a gentle push on the shoulder. "Must have been all those hunting lessons from Merrill that helped me corner the beast." She laughed and gave her head a shake, then gave Tempest a shocked look. "A mated broad? Geez Tempest you make it sound so inglorious."
Aleu supposed Tempest would need to properly meet Verse now. "Well I suppose you could meet him anytime you wanted to." Her eyes glanced to the moon for a moment then returned to her sister. "Probably best to wait at least until morning, wouldn't want to barge into his den with my sister in tow."

"Oh morning-shmorning, though you're probably right. Poor beast might just die of fright at two women trying to steal his heart!" She smirked playfully and nips her sisters nose. "So this is what it's like to have a sister to banter back and forth with.' Her teasing grin became one of genuine love and happiness for their new found friendship. "Together forever, Aleu.. I won't leave again." She was quite pleased with where this had gone.
"I'll be meeting him, paws down. I need to make sure he's right for you.. and maybe pick on him a little!" She gasped playfully and leaped up and away from her sister, pulling her bottom into the air and waging her tail and giving a quick sharp bark, a play with me moment.

"And we don't want that happening now do we?" She gave her sister a stern look but was joking really. Though she could only imagine how Verse would react to both her and Tempest barging into his den tonight. He probably would die of fright. Snorting at Tempest, she then smiled at her sister. "Forever." Her head tilted to the side as if in thought, and tried to keep her smile hidden but knew she would fail miserably. "That sounds like a long time, sure we won't get bored with each other?" Slowly but surely the smile she had been trying to hide came across her maw.
"Oh you'll meet him...hell we can tag team on him and poke fun at his poems." Aleu laughed at the thought but knew she wouldn't truly do that, she loved Verse too much to tease him about his poems, even if they weren't as good as songs. She took in her sisters playful mannerisms and dropped her ears, and scrunched her face up into a frown. "Oh come on Tempest, you know us mated broods don't play." But after a moment of hesitation she jumped towards her sister, letting out a playful bark.

Tempest could only laugh at her sister. She'd never actually do it unless of course Aleu had a sudden want to scare the rodents out of Verse. "We won't get bored, I promise!" She proclaimed happily.
"He... makes poems?" She asked her, Tempest could feel her face squish up attempting not to laugh. "Pfft, NOT play riiiiight?" Just as she squealed out her last words she was bombarded by mass and fur. She yelped happily and was rolled to the ground with Aleus' body to match roll for roll.
"Well well, my sister hasn't lost her sense of surprise!" Tempest teased gleefully.
