It was a nice, warm day; a few wispy clouds in the sky and a soft breeze blew by every now and then. It was a great day to scout ahead for a possible location to settle.
Having left what little of his herd members behind, the scaled stallion walked along a craggy cliff, looking down at the chasm at one side of him, being wary not to fall in. Along his other side was a rocky wall, a few indentations lining it, but none he saw so far being deep enough to be called a cave. His yellow eyes continued to watch for any sign of one though, preferably one large enough to house a few horses, though two of the three he leads are rather small for horses and the other was a foal.

The was warm, the felbore in him was enjoying it a lot. He loved warmth, his homeland was hot all the time. His strong tail flicked as he made his rounds, making sure all of his dried meats and things were all in place. When he was happy with everything he went back to the mouth of the cave. Looking down, always watching and making sure everything was fine.
He was almost done scanning over the cliffs and rough mountain side, almost giving it the all clear. Till he saw one brown spot, one brown spot that from the moving he could tell was not just a rock, it was something alive. He growled darkly as he glared down at the spot. How dare someone come up on his mountain! He shook his head, watching to make sure the spot didn't come closer to his cave.

The dark scales on his back made this heat a bit unbearable, but he continued his scaling of the cliff.
Rinji was unaware of the other just above him or his cave. If he was, he would have found another way across the cliff or not have com this way at all. So, blissfully unaware, though cautious, the half-breed continued his trek to find new lands to settle in.

Maddox grunted as he made his way down the mountain. He tried to stay in the shadows as much as he could, his dark body blended into them nicely. He stalked the male, much like he would when hunting. As he stalked Maddox studied the male. He was a strange mix of deer and what looked like dragon scales that he'd never seen before. Needless to say he wanted to find out more about the male that was hell bent on coming up his mountain.
"You do know that this land is owned by someone." He shouted from the shadows before taking a step forward. Most of his dark body was still hidden, only his glowing eyes and tusks, as well as the tips of his spikes could be seen. A dim green glow coming from them showing his outline. "The owner also doesn't like to share, male. So I heed you a fair warning when darling with him." Normally that would scare off any right minded idiot coming up his mountain, at least back home it did. But what Maddox didn't know is that this male before him wasn't one of those right minded idiots that ran from him.

The scaled stallion continued to climb up the cliffside, unknowing of the other stallion that was coming down toward him. As he climbed, Rinji had to wonder how well the young filling that was part of his herd could climb the cliff. The thought soon left his mind as the remembrance of the foals ability to fly came to mind and when he finally heard something approaching him.
Stopping in his tracks, his ears perked and facing in the direction the sound of approaching hoofprints. When the voice emerged from the shadows, followed by the stallion it belonged to, he poised himself for a possible attack. His yellow eyes scanned the other in front of him. A rather large stallion with large teeth coming from his mouth and spikes protruding from his body. The other seemed to be glowing as well, interesting. When the other had told him that the mountain was his and he didn't like to share, Rinji bowed his head slightly. "I am sorry, I did not know. I am just passing through, I do not wish to stay."

Maddox snorted loudly at the other male. "Alright then. Good to know. I can tell you right now there is nothing more up there on this mountain. So I'd just turn around and head back down the way you came." Maddox said as he stepped out of the shadows. His large dark purple body gleamed in the hot sun. His spikes and tusks seemed to glow a bright, almost white green when the sun hit them just right.
Maddox walked calmly towards the male, almost brushing up against him as he passed by, walking over to a large boulder he reared up and set his two front legs down on it, like he was about to climb it and leave the stallion alone when he paused and craned his neck back to look at Rinji.
"These are dangerous lands up here, I wouldn't want a little deer like you to get hurt by some of the monsters who live here." Maddox words were laced with a dark truth behind them. The land more so was just as dangerous as him, often people fell to their deaths up here because of the loose rocks and steep cliffs that dropped off out of no where. Was there monsters living up here? Yes but only one. And the brown and black dragon mix was looking at the one monster living up here in front of him.

At the other stallion's comment, he glanced up the path he had been traveling on for a moment. Hmm... he thought simply, "oh really? How unfortunate." Rinji replied, seemingly unphased by the news. It just meant a change of direction for the part Cerynei. He looked back to the other male as he stepped out fully from the shadows. Truly, he was a breed he hasn't seen before. The new lands held new things for him to behold.
When the other passed him, his scales just barely skimmed against his side. He also craned his neck to keep his attention on the other. No sense in being rude. His jeweled ears flicked when he was given a warning. He nodded in response. "I thank you for your concern, but no worry, I shall be fine and cautious." As for the monster comment. Sure, he was new to this territory, but that did not mean he was naïve. Carefully, he turned to head back down the cliff side. While he did this, a hind leg did slip, but he managed to catch his footing before any real damage could occur. Looking to the spiked horse, he nickered softly. "While I do not know you, I do not see you as a monster."
