Risa was not exactly the happiest fae on Gaia at the moment. In fact, she might have very well been the unhappiest, though it did not show on her face. It seemed the Azoulais had meddled with her life again, and yet she could bear no ill will towards the three children. Under normal circumstances, she would have been quite pleased at learning she was going to have a baby. Had not her fiance already warned her that there would be no more children.
How would he react? Would he be upset? Would he go silent like he had when she'd told him about Loki and Milo? Would dark thoughts swirl? Would he become angry? Make Risa give up the unborn child? Each was as likely as the next; Risa had found that her fiance was really quite unpredictable. She knew for a fact, however, that she wouldn't be able to consider him happy at the news.
It probably wouldn't help her case that she'd known she was pregnant for over a month, and never bothered to tell her fiance. Well, she would have bothered, but she didn't want to upset him. Especially not right after he'd proposed. She glanced at the ring guiltily, before dialing Matth's phone number.
"Matth? Do you think you can come over? The children are at Thali's and--I need to tell you something." Something I should have told you a month ago.

"I will be right over." the raven-haired fae said, his tone concerned. Something was wrong, he could tell. "I will need to drop the little ones I have over here off at Stasia's first. I will see you soon, Risa." He hung up, moving quickly as he gathered the children and their "visiting Auntie" bag.
What could be wrong? Was she sick? Was one of the children sick? Had someone been hurt? If anyone had hurt one of his....
About fifteen minutes later, the tall, lanky, pale fae made his way up to the house, his pace brisk and stiff. He knocked on the door and waited a few seconds before trying the door. Since it was unlocked, he let himself in, shutting and locking the door behind him. "Risa?"

The fae didn't even have time to answer the door, Matthias was so quick. She didn't have time to give it a second thought--whether to tell him or not One of her many flaws was that of being too trusting; which meant she usually left the door unlocked.
"Matth?" Risa asked, turning. She hadn't expected him to arrive so soon. She moved to hug him. "I'm sorry," she muttered, without explanation. Why was she feeling so guilty? Having a baby was supposed to be a wonderful thing. She pulled away to look at him. "I'm sorry, Matth. I know you said we shouldn't have more children, but..." she looked at her stomach guiltily.

Matthias hugged her, resting his chin on her head momentarily before kissing her forehead. "It is alright. I am sure it's-" He trailed off as he heard her explanation. "Oh..." The man was silent a moment, not sure how to respond. "I....how long?"

"About a month," Risa confessed. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you Matth. I should have... I didn't want to upset you. Not right after our engagement." She hoped he wasn't too upset, but she couldn't blame him if he was. After all, she had practically lied to him.

Matthias sighed. "You should have told me when you found out." he said, starting to pace. "How long do you think we have? It's best to be prepared for these things. While he didn't look happy....he didn't look upset, either. He looked like he was....plotting.
"Do you still remember where the caves are?" he asked, his tone casual and innocent as he smiled at Risa.

"I know," Risa said, watching him. "I don't know," she said with a with a shrug. "Eight months? Seven? I haven't started showing, I don't think," she looked at her stomach. "Not much anyway." Sure, it looked like she had been eating a few too many sweets at work, but at least she hadn't grown to the size she had when she'd been carrying Loki and Milo.
She blinked at his next question. "Matth..." she started. What was her fiance plotting? "Of course I do. Why? I wasn't planning on paying them a visit."

Matthias nodded. "That's enough time to situate a nursery and supplies." he said, a small smirk working its way onto his face. "And no, you aren't showing much, if at all." he offered, smiling at her.
"I want to pay them a visit." he said, his tone gaining a cheerful edge. "To thank them for the wonderful blessing." His tone may have been sweet, but butter wouldn't have melted on that tongue.

Risa stared at him for a moment. He was taking this quite well, in fact, the fae was slightly suspicious. What was he up to? He was taking this much better than he had the first time. A nursery and supplies? She doubted he would have smirked if he planned on going shopping.
"Visit them, why?" she was staring again, her chocolate brown eyes narrowed. Thank them? Ha! She doubted it. She knew how Matthias disliked them. "I'll come with you," she decided. Someone had to keep the peace.

Matthias smiled and hugged Risa, chuckling. "No need to. I know you don't like them, which is why I'll go." he said, kissing her cheek. "I can take care of it, don't worry. Besides, I'll do the shopping on the way home....and probably go out for a snack." Matthias smirked....by snack, he meant the young artist that'd been frequenting the park for the past couple of weeks.

"Oh no, I'll go," Risa said, determinedly. "Darcy's not really that bad," she added. "We can at least hold a civil conversation--unlike you and Aaron. Nice try Matth." Yes, he was certainly up to something. Why else would he volunteer to pay a visit to children he seemed to have a certain loathing for? "I'll leave you to your snack after shopping. Besides, we should pick out furniture together; I don't want blue furniture for a baby girl."

Matthias frowned. "I can go on my own. I can be civil." He was almost a millenia old; he could handle visiting the brats on his own! "You stay here and relax, okay? I'll send chocolates and a surprise." Was he trying to bribe his fiancee? Yes. Would it work? Well, that was up to her, now wasn't it?

Risa looked doubtful. "But Matthias, I want to thank them too," she said. Why didn't Matth want her to go with? The baby was hers, after all. What did he want to do to the poor Azoulais? Okay, maybe not so poor, but surely they didn't deserve whatever Matthias had in mind?
"Depends, what's the surprise?" She asked, interested. "Wedding plans, maybe?"

Matthias just smiled. He had already formulated plots and plans, and he intended to carry them out, unhindered. "If I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise, now would it?" he replied, smiling at Risa. He was smiling to much; he definitely had mischief afoot.
"So, what is your choice?" he asked, smiling at her.

Risa thought about it. Matthias seemed too amused, she knew he was up to something. But what if the surprise was something really good? She wanted it too! "I suppose I'll stay here, and wait for the surprise," she said with a sigh.
Maybe she could follow him without his noticing?
