x x x x x x x x x x x x x Day in and day out it was the same sort of routine: this day was specified to do this, this, and this; that day was specified to do that, that, and then that. The monotony drove at his skull like a woodpecker's beak, threatening to scramble his brains from the sheer weight of futility it was to think that he'd ever get out of here. There was so little point in thinking any of them would ever get out of this place, right?
Wrong, Nemesis told himself repeatedly. There's always a way out, there always is . . . Although the situation looked pretty one-sided. After all, there he was being toted like a dog with the rest of his inmates in that prison. The humans saw fit to let them have a small walk about, one of the few ammenities offered at The Facility. Their enclosure was careflly monitered and with impenetrable walls surrounding them. Granted, it was a good bit of land for them to roam, but it wasn't the same as being free.
Sneezing as a bit of pollen swept into his nose, the thin snowshoe found himself a corner to press his back against and merely watched his kin in their various actions. Subtly, he began scrutinizing his collar for weaknesses to take advantage of.

Outside. It had been a long time since she been out here. She blinked her light colored eyes and pushed her bangs out of her face as the wind blew into her eyes and she let out a noise at that. It was so close to freedom. She didn't know what it was like, like most of them in here. She figured she was born and raised in this Facility. Dusting her dress off and fixing her bow, not that it mattered, Paraietta shifted toward the back wall. She honestly didn't care about walking around or chasing her tail... Whatever it is that cats were supposed to do. Most of these cats were insane anyway. What fun were they?
She looked to the Snowshoe and offered him a small smile. She'd seen him around once or twice, but never caught his name. "H-hi. I'm P-Paraietta..." she said to him, trying to sound friendly and outgoing. He was younger than her; no point in making him think he was doomed for life. There was always hope with her. She would get out of here and live normally. ....If she knew what that was.

"ppsssh! Poowwwww~"
Kinley bounced around, cocking his hands into gun shapes and pointing them at the guards, imagining knocking them out and escaping, freeing everybody! He would be a hero! He wanted be a hero, very very much. He wanted to be the one who was looked up to, not looked at funny, not shoved in cages, not anything like that. One day, he was going to be a hero! He was gonna save everyone! Even those funny ghosty-cats that he saw in the halls sometimes, who dissapeared when he looked at them! And the sad kittens who he pounced on, ready to play with, but then they dissapeared and he was looking like an insane person!
He wasn't insane! He was just...what had that other cat said? Exuberant, that was it! Exuberant! Heroic! Kinley was so lost in his own thoughts, he didn't notice where he was going, bumping into a pretty girl-cat. He yelped, tripping, but stood up quickly, sticking his left hand out. "HI! I'm Kinley! What's your name?" He was obviously under the impression that the other cat had bumped into him - there was no apology or anything after all.

|~| Kinley ought to meet Elijah once they break out; he wants to be a hero too. X3 |~|
At the sound of a shaky voice in front of him, Nemesis glanced at the girl before him, one paw trying futiley to dig its way under the tight collar; if he wasn't careful, it might get stuck there . . . "You're who?" he asked with a confused frown. "Speak up, chick, I don't do well with st-stutterers." And there came a second male making those stupid (read: semi-scary) gun sounds, acting like he was all that, and all the kitten could do was glare at him for acting like an idiot with all the cameras watching.
"D'you want them to pick you up for more testing?" he hissed in an undertone, just incase they could also record them "talking". "Huh, hotshot?" Humans tended to grow more interested in cats that displayed unsuual behavior; this was why Nemesis at most got in the usual kitty scrabbles (usually of which he started) and did nothing else remarkable otherwise.

She whimpered as she was snapped at, then yelped as she was bumped into. Quickly, Paraietta stood up and backed away from the two males. One was almost insane and the other was mean. Just her luck. She couldn't make a good impression on either of these boys. Still, the nicer one had introduced himself, with no apology, but she was not going to worry about that. Not yet anyway. "I'm Paraietta."
She took Kinley's hand and shook it for a moment before putting her hands behind her back. Once more, her dress slipped off one shoulder and Paraietta snorted at it. Whatever, all the clothes here were too big for her. She looked back to the Snowshoe and frowned. While he had a point, he shouldn't talk like that.
"U-uhm... Kinley? You should be a little quieter. Unless you want the humans to snatch you up again." Basically what the Snowshoe had said, only put in a nicer way.

It was too loud and too bright outside. The fresh air was nice but the other cats? Ciaran didn't care for them. The humans had hauled him out here, hissing and spitting and had all but tossed him out. Fresh air, would do him well they'd said. Heh. Stubby tail giving a faint flick at the idea, the Toyger gave the collar around his neck an experimental scratch before deciding that getting to the constant itch underneath the tight thing was too much trouble and abandoning the venture. The itch would go away eventually, and then it would be back but he would settle for the short term relief.
Bright blue eyes surveyed the area and the other cats in it with an almost bored air. Some of them were gnawing on themselves. Others were chasing either their tails or another cat and near the back was a small group of sorts. How long til the humans broke that up, he wondered with another flick of his short tail. Not long at all. Eventually the humans would scoop them all back up and lock them in those cages to begin another round of poking and prodding.
Slinking along the wall Ciaran was soon sprawled on the floor, eyeing the small gathering with no small bit of disinterest. One appeared to be crazy, only a crazy cat would be making so much noise where the humans could openly see him. Lifting one stripped paw to his mouth he set about grooming himself slowly. "No point in warning him. The humans are going to snatch him up whether or not he behaves like a maniac." He interjected lightly before resuming his grooming. It was the truth. Eventually the humans would take notice of him and haul him away either to experiment on him further or to simply put him out of his misery.
