Sanctuary of the Solemn One
History
There was a day when the mortals did not exist. These days the god's existed in complete harmony with the world around them. The Asguard never had to worry about watching over the mortals, nor the mortals appeasing the gods. In the current days with so many different dieties, demi-gods, and mortals things are no longer as simple. Relinth is an abandoned soul cast out by the benevolent diety of the heavens, rejected by the mortals, and shuned by the other great beings. His search brought him to a code of honor he lives by. Courage, Truth, Honor, Fidelity, Discipline, Hospitality, Industriousness, Self-Reliance, and Perseverance are the virtues that define him as a warrior. He sought out a place to make a shrine to these virtues, and earn his place amoung the honored dead.
Description
A distance away from the Black Company Dojo lays the Sanctuary. This great hall is a rectangular structure built in the style of the ancient roman buildings. Its massive structure lays a few hundred feet long sprawling over the tranquil forested landscape that surrounds it. Its white pillars glisten as if they were new the marble not showing a hint of its age. The inner structure itself has a single door at its front made of metal which is almost always left wide open. The walls inside the structure are made out of a flawless white stone etched with a wide assortment of runes, many of which magical in nature. Tapestries of different kinds adorn the walls as to a number of weapons which are encased in decorative cases. The floor is a similar quality white stone which is only a bit duller then the outside walls. Entering the foyer there are a number of statues of various deities with small places to place offerings. They are a number of rugs on the floor which one can only assume are meant to meditate upon. As you reach the back of the hall Statues of Tyr, Thor, and a few other Norse gods stand looking down over the rest of the area. To the right of them is an opening into a hallway. Down this hallway there are some Spartan accommodations including a small kitchen, a rest area which some small couches and a meeting room with a large stone oval table. Following the hallway it makes a turn to the left and leads directly to a staircase. Coming up the staircase you notice a number of small rooms for those whom are staying here to gain enlightenment. At the end of the hall is a impenetrable locked down with a series of magical runes inscribed on it. This is the main room of Relinth Thares. It is said within he houses a number of magical artifacts and a small library within his room however few have seen it. His living conditions are said to be comfortable but not lavish. This place is a place of worship and learning. Doing battle within would surely be looked down upon by its master whom has gone to great lengths to make this a safe haven for lost souls.
Surroundings
The Sanctuary is located in a clearing deep in the woods that surround the Black Company Dojo. During the daytime the grassy area has an unusual ambiance to it as sunlight seems to beam down on this area with extra intensity. The area directly next to the Sanctuary has been turned into a garden and seems to always have an abundance of fresh vegetables. There is also a small pond with fresh water out back of the Sanctuary. Some fish can be found here if one is persistent enough. The wild animals are known to spend time around this place sense it is rarely disturbed and has managed to avoid any major disasters.
