The only time she was allowed out of one of her fathers Banu's sight, was when she was with Sarfraz and she enjoyed the freedom it gave her to be with him, she laughed a bit more, smiled, played.

She wasn't unhappy at home, but there were so many and it was nice, not to be one among many for a change. She didnt mind following behind him until they were out of the sight of all the others, once that happened, she'd pounce on the younger cub.

Which, she did now, happily.

Lili was his best friend even if it was a secert, and he had no romantic ideas for her. But it was nice to have a friend, who didnt try to use him for their own gain, who his father was always made someone want to be his friend, he wasn't into that sort of thing.

But when Lili and he went out, it was nice, he could be himself and he enjoyed watching her become herself as well.

Passing out of the crowded gathering area, he couldnt help but turn back and grin at the flying at him Lili, his eyes widened as he was tackled with an "Oaf!"

User ImageWell, that hadn't worked very well, Mirsajadi thought to himself. He scrambled to his feet and quickly turned to look at the person he'd leapt upon. The tackling had been accidental, but there was no way he was going to admit that, even if it meant a fight.

"I hope you weren't hurt," the striped cub said, looking over the older pesar.

There was something very familiar about the older male. His coloration and size definitely made him distinctive, and as Mirsajadi's circle of acquaintances was relatively small it didn't require a great deal of effort on the young lion's part to recall the person he was reminded of. He couldn't recall the young banu's name, of course, for he had made a point of not asking it, but he could recall her well enough. Even though he did not have the same gold markings, Mirsajadi would have been willing to bet that the older pesar was her brother.

"Good afternoon, Pesar, Banu," he greeted the pair politely. As he knew neither, he could not address them any more specifically.

A part of his mind pointed out that they might not actually be together, but he dismissed it. They did seem to know each other. Maybe when he grew older, the banu would belong to that pesar. It was a shame, Mirsajadi thought, because she was very attractive, but they did seem very familiar with each other, and she was definitely too old to hold much interest for him.

With a scramble of paws, Lili resumed her more demure postion behind Sarfraz as the male voice came into her range of hearing, her eyes went down cast to her paws, and she bowed her head low in greeting, she had begun her training to be a proper banu.

"Greetings young Pesar.." she said softly, not looking up at him directly, but in his direction none the less, a smile played on her features.

Sarfraz sighed, he'd never make his Banu's behave as such. He thought with a shake of his head as he eyed the young male slowly before grinning in a friendly manner.

"Good day young Pesar!" He exlaimed in a friendly fashion, grinning at the cub. "And of course not, would take more than that to hurt me." He said in a proud fashion. "This is my friend Lililamuna." He introduced her.

Mirsajadi smiled, approving of the banu's behavior, as it was exactly how a banu ought to greet a male, even if he was only a pesar and not yet a pad. It did not occur to the young pesar to note the oddness of an older lioness showing him respect just because of his sex. It had not been part of his upbringing to consider that unusual. He thought to himself that the older pesar's relative - sister, perhaps? - could learn from this banu, though it had been obvious that she'd been making an effort to be proper, too.

Mirsajadi was not offended by the dismissal of his ability to deal damage. He interpreted it as an indication of something he ought to work on in the future. The other pesar was larger, after all, and Mirsajadi hadn't struck him very hard. He didn't feel any pain or discomfort either, and if anyone should, it would be him. He would have to work on that. Not necessarily so he could hurt others, but so that no one would dismiss him in the future if he was ever called upon to pounce them.

"I'm glad to hear it," he said, returning Sarfraz's grin.

His ear cocked to one side as he recalled something about the moments before he'd pounced. He hadn't been the only one pouncing. The banu - Lililamuna - had also been doing so, and she had hit the pesar, too. Mirsajadi's estimation of the older cub rose as he considered this, but his opinion of the banu fell just a little. She shouldn't be jumping on males, even if they were close friends.

"I'm Mirsajadi," he said, introducing himself. "I'm pleased to meet you."

He turned his attention to the purple-eyed pesar with a slight frown. It wasn't directed at Sarfraz, but simply the result of a brow furrowed in thought. "I didn't actually hit you, did I? I thought I did...but now I'm not sure. Banu Lililamuna did that."

In other words, I totally missed the part in your post where she did that when I was replying before, and now I'm trying to fix that. cool

Lili's ears drew back, she'd been caught in behavior that would surely get her a good scolding from her mothers, if not her father for such behavior! She chewed her bottom lip in worry now, it just wouldnt do for her and Sarfraz to play in the open any longer.

He could get in trouble as well.

Sarfraz nodded his head, he was an easy going older cub, the weight of the pride had barely begun to touch his shoulders and well, he didnt seem to have a problem handling it, though of course he knew no other life, so it all was natural to him.

"No you didn't. And yes, she got me if only just barely. Though, you can't blame her..the fault is my own. She was just merely excited by the idea of going out to enjoy the lands. Lessons can be tiresome after so long.." He said with a shrug, he knew that many wouldnt understand his and Lili's relationship, but he couldnt have another thinking poorly of her.

"Banu's get excited with to much attention." He winked with a grin.

Okay, Mirsajadi really didn't approve of banus pouncing on pesars, but it seemed pretty obvious to him that Sarfraz didn't mind and he wanted to make a good impression on the older pesar. That meant he would have to seem not to mind that Lililamuna had acted improperly.

"Maybe it's a sign she'll grow up to be a great huntress," Mirsajadi replied.

"Either way, I can hardly fault someone for being happy about being away from the den. I'm much the same way when it comes down to it." Well, he did have a habit of wandering away from home as often as he could manage it. It was so crowded at home, and yet it was also boring at the same time. He'd rather be out and about, and he always felt a certain elation whenever he successfully escaped.

Mirsajadi returned Sarfraz's grin. He liked this cub who reminded him of the young banu he'd met before. He seemed like a proper sort to get to know, and his sister - for who else could she be - obviously had the right sort of goals in mind for herself. Clearly they were being raised well by their parents, whoever they were. He couldn't find that out yet, because it would make it too easy to figure out who the banu was, and that would spoil his game.

"I'll take your word for it," he said. "I don't know too many. Just my sisters and my father's banus, and they hardly count."

She looked up and gave him a light smile, hunting was something she was currently learning to do. And, her mothers had said she had a natural talent for it, it made her happy to please them. But, as the young male continued to talk, she stayed quiet and in the background, like she'd been taught.

"I understand what you mean, Im out and about any chance I can. Its just to stiffling to be cooped up in the den all day, and then with all those mothers and siblings." He shook his head, Sarfraz's father so far had only his mother as a banu, and grated at this time he only had two other siblings but that was more than enough to make him want to get away.

"Oh, Im sure a banu will catch your eye sooner or later. There is plenty of time for it, I havent even began to seek any out yet, though I know my time will come soon enough." He was ready to start his harem he thought with a happy grin, and then he could wander around whenever he wanted!

Since Lililamuna was being silent and keeping to the background, Misajadi had no difficulty dismissing her out of hand. He hadn't realized at this point in his life that sometimes the ability to become invisible and unobtrusive might actually be a good thing. He still thought that everything he did, he did with the idea that his father was watching him, which is part of why he wasn't half as good at sneaking away from the den as he would eventually come to be. He still got caught.

"Yeah, really!" Mirsajadi agreed. And everyone in the den wanted to win Tariq's approval, and there never seemed to be enough to go around. Even as a young cub, Mirsajadi felt there was something lacking, though he didn't know what it was.

Mirsajadi wrinkled his nose. He hadn't reached the age where girls had cooties, though he knew for a fact they were different from boys, in an inferior way. He didn't think that he was ever going to find any of them attractive, or whatever it was about them that made older pesars and pads want them. They were just so...silly.

"I don't think so." Then he directed himself briefly to Lililamuna and said, "No offense. But...no."

A grown-up moving in the periphery of Mirsajadi's vision made the striped cub start. He wasn't supposed to be out of the den at all, and he couldn't help worrying that one of the adults around would figure that out and bring him back forcibly. That would be humiliating.

"I should probably be going. My family will worry if I'm out too long."

"You'll see.." Sarfraz said with a chuckle, cause it was only natural for a male to want to have a couple females right? Well, since it was how he was raised he didn't see any problems with it, but this young male didn't seem to want anything to do with females...it was a touch strange he thought.

He nodded his head, with a glance back at Lililimunia. "Yes, I suppose I should escort Lililimunia here back to her den for further lessons." He said with a light shrug of his shoulders.

He didn't want to go back to the dens, but he knew if he too stayed out for to long than he too would be carried back to the den, and that wouldn't suffice at all.

Mirsajadi just managed to suppress a scowl. He hated when older people told him he'd see, or he'd understand when he was older. He wasn't stupid or anything like that. It wasn't that he was incapable of understanding now. He just felt the way he felt about it, and maybe his mind would change when he was older, but maybe it wouldn't. He resented when people just assumed it would because, presumably, theirs had. Or maybe they'd never even been in his position, and spoke from no experience at all.

"Those are important," he agreed. Then he added politely, "It was good to meet the two of you. I hope to see you again."

After all, he'd liked them well enough. They weren't his type of people through and through, perhaps, but they weren't bad and they were certainly better than his endless numbers of siblings and half-siblings. By a long shot. If he did meet either of them again, he would be pleased to do so, and would probably have things to talk about with them. At least with Sarfraz. There wasn't much point, really in talking to banu, no matter what the older pesar said.
