 The full moon shown bright, illuminating the sky and the Kawani lands down below. Across the land, other Soq may be seen milling about, enjoying the night sky with a loved one, or simply enjoying the cloak of night and the secrecy it could provide. But at a certain lake, all remained still. Nothing stirred the air by the lake that was called home by Adalinda. All having been long since chased off by the territorial mare, or were dragged to their end in the depths.
Feeling that it was once again time for her to make her rounds, the serpentine mare awoke in her nest of mud and weeds upon the lake's floor. Her eerie glowing eyes looked over her home, roaming over the bones and bloated cadavers, that were held on the lake bed by large rocks. It always satisfied her to see her work. But now was not the time for that.
Signaling the the mare's ascent, two glowing orbs broken the surface of the lake and shot up into the sky. They danced in the air as down below, the mare's head fins and spikes broke the surface, soon followed by her back fins and her long serpentine tail, which propelled her to the shore. As she stepped out into the night air, water dripped off her scaly hide, which instantly felt dry without the familiar caress off water with every slight movement. She hated leaving the lake's loving hold, but it was necessary.
Once her legs had adjusted to being on land, something that always felt foreign no matter how many times she stepped out of the lake, she looked to the two glowing orbs, and nodded. Like two glowing bullets, the orbs shot off into the dark abyss of the forest. Guiding the mare on her nightly spot check.

Lior was heading toward the lake that she knew was near by. She had heard a few scary stories about the place, but she wouldn't let stories get in her way. She was a little worried about how the other Soquili, and basically anything living, started to become scarce the closer she got to the lake. Seemed just about every else believed in tall-tales. Of course, she was also terrified of large bodies of water, but she had convinced herself that it would be small and totally not a big deal. Plus, she was thirsty. Just one quick stop, and she'd be off again.
Eventually she didn't see anyone, but then just when she was about to totally freak out and run in the opposite direction she notices two bright lights ahead. She was obviously distracted easily. Not to mention she was just as attracted to shiny objects as the next Soquili, maybe a little more.
So, fear of lakes and creepy monsters put aside, she headed in the direction that the little orbs of light were heading in.

Dancing and weaving, the orbs zipped through the dark woods, illuminating the way for their mistress. When the foreign mare drew close enough for them to sense her, they came to a stop. Hovering in the air.
Not far behind trailed Adalinda, her glowing eyes narrowing into slits as her steps halted. If the orbs had paused, then that meant someone was near by. Someone that shouldn't be here, was. And that meant that she needed to take care of them.
With practiced ease, she slipped back into the shadows. Maneuvering to get a better look.
