Moyo was a broken lion. He didn't know how it happened or why but his beloved Neph was no longer by his side. He'd woken up and she had gone.
Tears had fallen and his heart was broken. He'd met a strange traveler who thought his tears had been silly and quite honestly now Moyo agreed. How could one being have such power over his heart. It was pathetic as the other had put it.
He had circles under his eyes from lack of sleep and Moyo had thinned a bit from lack of eating. He wasn't nearly starved or anything but he wasn't the frame of a lion he had once been.
Moyo was miserable with out his Neph by his side. Part of him hated her for leaving but most of him just wanted her to be happy and safe. It hurt these conflicting feelings battling in his heart and it made the cracks of his heart get wider and wider. The pain throbbed with in.
All he could do right now was lay on his side, one claw extended from his front paw went round and round in the dirt. On the inside he was dead.

She didnt walk the same, healing wounds still ached from long hours of walking, but she felt..it was time.
It was time to go home, to hopefully find Moyo and explain what she had done, to beg his forgiveness.
Hopefully he'd take her back, he'd understand what she had done, he'd love her. Because if not, then what she had done, been through had been worthless and for nothing.
A familiar scent caught her attention, her mind spun, as her heart began to race, could he be so close?

Moyo sighed and rolled over onto his belly. His tail flicked side to side.
What was the point of sticking around here where memories haunted him. Neph wasn't going to come back ever. There was a reason she'd left and it probably had something to do with all that mate talk. He was assuming things and that wasn't a good thing for him to do.
Slowly he emerged from the thick of the tall grass. His massive shape hard to miss.

Her fathers eyes, her brighter shade of his color fell on the form not to far away from her, her heart skipped a beat, she couldnt believe it!
After so long, after growing into adulthood without him, to see him now..
"Moyo!!" She called out, wondering if he remembered her, wondering so many different things all at once, but her mind stopped thinking, and only focused on him.

Were his ears playing tricks on him? Had he... nah it couldnt be.. could it? His heart lit up with hope for a moment.
"N-Neph?" He called out ... was it her? Was this his mind going crazy. Was a near by god playing tricks on him. He'd heard a lot of awful things about gods from that one lion...

Suddenly, she wasnt walking, but running towards him, tears blazing in her eyes as she almost ran him down.
"Moyo!!" She exclaimed again, though now she was paused only a foot or two away from her, her hip and still healing wounds burned, aching at her with warning.

Moyo got to his feet and started to pad toward her only to stop. Neph was running towards him and at a fast pace. Only she stopped too.
Moyo blinked at her eyeing the wounds on her. . . Anger built up inside him.
"WHO DID THIS TO YOU," He roared. His vision was blurring . His Neph had returned but at what cost. Had she been taken that very night. Had he failed in protecting her. The slimey....!

Her eyes closed, a soft smile tugged at her muzzle as she closed the distance between them, nuzzling against his chest, he was all grown up too now, and so very handsome.
"It doesn't matter anymore. But it wasn't your fault." She said looking up at him now, her love for him shimmering in her eyes. "Im back.."

Moyo frowned and eyed her as she nuzzled against his chest. It did matter. Neph had disappeared and now she was returned to him with scars.
"Some one hurt you... You were gone... I don't see how it doesn't matter." Rage grew behind his once gentle eyes. His world, his love.. damaged. Who would do such an evil act to such a lion such as Neph. For a split second Moyo had thoughts of hunting down and killing who ever had done this.
"It matters alot to me that you've been hurt. " Tears slid out from behind his eyes. "Neph..."

She looked up at him, her own eyes shimmering with tears. "Moyo, it had to happen.." she said with a sigh, stepping away from him.
"I had to be better, I needed to learn and live from the pain." She now looked to her paws, she needed him to understand. "I wanted to be perfect for you." She sighed, "And for myself, I needed to know that I wouldnt be a burden." She wasnt sure it made sense to anyone else but herself.
"Moyo, I wouldnt have risked you to him. He was.." She shuddered, images flashing through her mind, causing her breath to get caught in her lungs, nightmares still haunted her. "No, you are more important to me."

Moyo him self was a huge lion. But he was soft as a baby animal on the inside. The lion had never been in a real fight. Still. Seething and plotting started behind those eyes. How and why..
The male shook his head.
"You were always perfect. No matter how you are." The lion forced a smile, "Your my Neph."

She could tell the smile was forced, even after so long, she knew Moyo as well as she knew herself.
"I am. And have always been yours Moyo..Even apart, you were what I was coming home to..Kept me going." she said softly, shifting her paws softly. "I meant all those things I whispered to you, not sure if you actually heard them..but I do love you."
She looked up at him now, "I hope, one day you can forgive me."

Moyo lowered his head a bit ashamed. He loved Neph he really did and he had been faithful to only her. But he was hurt. Neph had to be beaten for god knows what reason and she wouldnt let him know who it was so he could avenge her.
"Come one with me we'll clean these wounds," He turned his back and started for a near by stream. He needed to do something or he was going to go crazy with rage and sorrow over some one attacking his mate.

She followed after him, her head slightly lowered, for a moment, she couldnt help but watch his tail, an urge, over took her, and she nipped at the tuff of mane at the end of it.
"Most of its all healed, it just aches from time to time is all..I'm alright Moyo.." She said softly, before nipping at his tuff of mane once more. " I wont lose you to Ovu..there is nothing but hate and evil within him.." she said with a light nod.
" Honestly, I feel bad for him.."

Moyo sighed. Neph was being to passive about this but if this is how Neph wanted it he'd listen. He was just glad she came back.
However if this Ovu person ever even came close to his mate or him he'd tare him apart. Moyos claws unsheathed at the thought of anyone touching his love.
"Im sorry.." His head hung low not sure what else to say.
