  Ryu sighed as he glanced around, "....this is kinda small..." He didn't know much about buildings so he was comparing the room to a lake. He put away his few belongings before poking at the bed as if it was some unknown creature.

Jade knocked softly on the door. "Hello?" she asked through the door.

Ryu heard the knock and went over, tripping over his own feet before opening the door, "Hello.." He said smiling as he rubbed his forehead, "Come on in."

"Thanks." she said smiling at him. "Um...I think I'm your roommate if that's okay." she said to him. "Nice to meet you. I'm Jade." she said holding out her hand for him to shake.

"Of course it's okay, I'm Ryu, nice to meet you Jade." Ryu smiled and shook her hand, secretly hoping he was doing this greeting right.. he'd practiced with Umi, but dragons and people weren't exactly the same..

Ryu was a bit more confused now, "Um...cool? ...cold water is refreshing but I don't get how that matters in a room like this.." he said as he glanced around the room.

"Oh, sorry...I'm not quite used to human's use of words.. Might I ask why you find my being half merman is cool?" He went and sat cross legged on his bed, poking the blanket every now and then to try to get used to the strange fabric.

"Ah, right...I sometimes forget the limits of other creatures. Do you like swimming Jade?" Ryu smiled at her, still fidgeting on the bed, but starting to get used to the steady solid mattress under him.

Ryu grinned widely, "Do you want to go swimming now? Umi and I could help you stay under longer and play with the fishes." He said happily, the thought of playing with friends underwater always made him happy.
