Oh crap! The kids got into the apple stores again. Glain swears, she turned her head for one second, and then they were running all around. It's amazing how much energy those little things can pack into their little bodies, and how little it takes to do that! Anyway, there are just too many for Glain to handle, and she has employed the help of the rest of the flock to help her catch the little devils.
Basically, what will happen is in my next post is I will call the other Harpies to help Glain out. After 24 hours I will generate a number from 1 to 6. This will indicate the number if kids that got out. After that I will roll a 20 sided die to indicate the stamina of one of the foals. Unlike the hunt the mares will not go after the foals one ofter the other and knock off points. They will take turns trying to catch it, and the one to match the number I rolled for the foals stamina has caught it. Then the next harpy in line will try and catch the next foal. It will go on until all of the foals are back in their place. Edit your post to include the outcome of your roll.
You don't have to be a nanny to take part in this! So long as you want to help you can. Each Harpy is naturally fast, and is able to catch a child.
Respect the posting order! The order you sign up in is the order in which everyone will be posting in. So, if Harpy A signs up first, followed by Harpies B, C, and D, then the posting order will be followed in that way. In the event one Harpy does not respond within 24 hours, thens he will be skipped and have to wait for her next time around to post again. So if Harpy A posts, and Harpy B misses the 24 hours window, then Harpy C goes a head and posts and Harpy B must wait for Harpies C, D, and A to post before she can.
Here is how things will look. Sweeny generated a random number between 1 and 6. The number generated was 4. 4 foals are running around. Sweeny rolls a 20 sided die. Die rolled 15. The foal has 15 stamina. Glain rolls a 20 sided die. Die rolled 7. Harpy A rolls 20 sided die. Die rolled 12. Harpy B rolls 20 sided die. Die rolled 15. Harpy B catches the first foal! Sweeny rolls a 20 sided die. Die rolls 9. Foal has 9 stamina. Harpy C rolls a 20 sided die. Die rolls 17. Harpy D rolls a 20 sided die. Die rolls 9. Harpy D catches the foal! And so on and so forth.

Glain must have turned her head away for a second. She couldn't really remember why, maybe it was a shadow or a rustle in a bush; something inconsequential. All she really knew was that before her head turned all of the foals were napping peacefully, and then when she turned back they were all neck deep in the apples. By the time she registered what had happened they had all scattered. Her mouth gaped and she stammered for words and finally she gave up with a sigh and hung her head with and exasperated sort of amusement. "Ladies, I need you," she called, the winds carrying her words. "The foals have gotten out of hand, and I need some assistance getting them back together!" She laughed lightly as one zoomed around and away from her. She did regret asking for help so soon after the hunt and with so many recuperating, but there was no way she could chorale all of the little ones on her own.

Anya's un-cert. (Sorry can't get her cert up on this computer.) Anya was pissed. She had left the children alone with Glain and Aldora why she went to go get some meat for the young foals and herself. She had only come back to find the nesting area of the foals buried in apples, Glain worring her head off, calling out to the other sisters, and most of all the kids were missing. She frowned as she dropped the meat from her mouth. "Glain! What happened?" She yelled, slightly angry but more worried. What the bloody hell happened here!?

Water drops glistened on Luinil's sapphire blue coat and dripped from her silver-tipped feathers as she slowly ambled back towards the main harpy nesting area. The long cool soak in the chilling river had been quite refreshing after the physical activty of the flock's last hunt. She paused to shake a touch more water out of her feathered mane when she heard Glain's cry for help.
The foals? Glain?? Luinl's eyes widened with concern as her trot seamlessly shifted into a ground-consuming gallop. She fairly flew towards the foals' nesting grounds ready to battle beast or demon in defense of the young ones.
Kicking up a cloud of dust, she skidded to a halt beside Glain. She nodded to Anya, glad to see another harpy responding to the nanny's cry. "Glain, what's wrong?"

Aldora was making her way back from the hunt with her sisters when she heard Glain's call for help. All her weariness from the hunt seemed to disappear instantly the moment she thought the children needed her. With renewed strength she rushed to Glain's aide, hoping it wasn't too serious.
As she got closer her pace slowed. She then trotted up to Glain, her fellow Nanny. "Glain!" she yelped out as she tried to catch her breath. "What has happ......" Her eyes wandered about to find the children had gotten into some mischief once again. Their victim this time? The apple stores. "Does their mischievousness ever end?" She can't help but laugh as she runs out to help round them up and get them out of the food.

Glain smiled at Anya and Luinil and nodded her head at the baskets now half full. "Temper temper, Sister Anya," she laughed, "They were napping when I looked an instant ago. Then something caught my attention for and instant. Only that and then I looked back and they were all neck deep in the apples. Of course since it is my fault that they are depleted I will, of course, restock them by myself. Of course, now the foals are all running about like mad." She chuckled as one fell face first and spat out a clump of dirt before running again.
Her attention turned to Aldora, who had a similar sense of humor to hers. She laughed along side the mare and shook her head. "No, I suppose it doesn't. But then again, you remember being a child, right? The most fun had was making trouble." She chuckled again and sighed.
"Well, I shall go first then, let's see how many are out and about..." Glain did have a touch of trouble counting the moving blurs of color, but eventually she did count out three. "Three foals than. Anya, would you mind beginning?"

The first foal targeted hopped, skipped, and jumped around, refusing to stay on the ground for too long. She giggled as she moved from here to there, using her agility to stay alight. She did love to fly, however temporary her airborne leaps were. She stopped for a moment to watch Anya who had been charged with catching her and grinned wildly. "You'll never catch me, I'm much too fast! I'll be the fastest sister there ever was!" And with that she was off again.

Anya smirked as she playfully stuck her tongue out for a moment. Though Anya was known for her temper within the sisters she did calm down quickly, even more so if she was called upon her actions. Strange to some yes, but thats how she rolled.
The harpy got serious again when she was called up to bat. She crouched down, ready to spring up when the bouncing foal got closer. When she saw her shot to catch the foal Anya sprung up like a spring, leaping up into the air her body that was built for this kind of jumping cut through the air like a knife in soft butter. She hoped that she'd be able to catch the wild trouble making foal in her first try, but she knew too that it mostly didn't work out like that.
She did laugh as she landed on the ground and started to run after the foal. "You may soon little sister! But you're not that good yet!" She shouted at the foal as she continued the chase.

Luinil breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing that the crisis was simply one of fun-seeking filly mischief. "So the little scamps are at it again!" Shaking her feathered mane, she suppressed an indulgent chuckle. "I suppose we need to corral the wayward ones."
Luinil headed off after one of the foals. She'd hunted quicker animals, but this time she was hampered by the need to catch but not hurt the little trouble-maker. Putting on a burst of speed, she bounced off a tree and dove after the foal.
~~
Twisting in mid bounce, Luinil caught up with the little foal who squealed with fright at the sight of the tacturn huntress. Luinil sighed inwardly. Her solitary ways didn't exactly endear her to most of the foals though they did respect her lethal hunting skills. "Don't worry little sister, I won't hurt you....this time." Luinil growled. "Now back to the nest with you." She smiled at the foal who stopped shaking and headed reluctantly back to the nest.

The next foal that was targeted was more involved with a butterfly she was chasing. She jumped and leaped, trying to catch it. That was, in fact, the center of her world. She could see only the color of the insects wings and hear only the flap as it moved through the air. Her mind was consumed with the idea of capturing such beauty, with being one with it.

Aldora laughed as her sisters went after the little one. The first one seemed to be a bit of a handful for Anya and Luinil, but they managed just fine. Now it was her turn. Her eyes spied a little one chasing a butterfly. It was quite adorable to see.
Aldora sauntered up to the little one, not really worried that she would be noticed for the little harpy filly seemed quite distracted by the fluttering butterfly. She got right up behind the little one then pounced on her quickly and carefully with a friendly laugh.

"Oops!" she exclaimed as the little scamp managed to get away. She shook her head and laughed, her feathers on her head rustling. "Next time little one!" she shouted out as the filly ran away.

Glain nudged the first filly back into her place, nipping gently at her flanks the speed the child along. "No rest, little one," she purred as she nestled her in for her nap. She turned her attention to the last two foals who were out and about. Aldora had been out witted by one and Glain laughed to herself. She had been in the same position more than once. It was amazing how tricky these little ones were. It made her proud, really. On that note she approached the little one with the butterfly. Right then she was watching it light upon a flower petal. She stood over her and whispered, "Beautiful, isn't it?" Unfortunately her voice startled the poor dear and she took off, her butterfly friend in toe.

Anya grinned at little filly running, the butterfly that she had been chasing following. A sweet little thing but a slippery foal too. True one had been caught, but there were still three more out there Anya didn't care if it toke all night, these foals would be rounded up.
The filly had gone back to chasing after the butterfly, now that she thought that it was safe to play. Ah how wrong the filly was. Anya in a flash of moment leaped up into the air, hoping to tackle the little filly.
Drat! Yet again the filly once pounced on wiggled her way from under the older harpy before taking off. "You can't run forever little one!" Anya shouted as she got up, letting one of her other sisters take a shot at the foal.

Aldora was once again up to bat! "Okay younglin'! I'm gonna get you!" she chirped out to the filly as she tried to make it into a game for herself and the little one. She laughed as she trounced after her small prey.
As the filly started to laugh as well, running with her butterfly companion, Aldora swept right up next to her and bumped her with her side. She hoped that would through the young one off balance for a little fun.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Foiled once again! Aldora couldn't help but laugh at this little one that just seemed to be able to get away from them all. She slowed to a walk to step back and let her sisters try again.
... She got the feeling this one was most assuredly going to give them a run for their money.

Glain was once again called upon to try and catch the little filly with the butterfly. Whether it was brains or ignorance that kept her free, Glain did not know, but she was sure giving the nannies a bit of a work out. Glain smiled easily at the filly, amused as well as a bit put off by her antics. Still, she gathered herself and went after the little girl, once again. --- Again, the little filly evaded Glain, going after her little butterfly friend once more. Glain sighed softly to herself and shook her head.
