Spearmint was taking a nice walk in the woods, the pine trees gently giving off the scent of sap. The wind softly caressing the earth and the greenery around him made him feel like home. The sun was blazing in the sky a smile upon the ground, he looked up into the bright blue sky, puffy clouds looking like wisps of cotton in the deep blue beyond. He laughed to himself thinking of all the possibilities to do on a day that was as nice as this one, but all he could think of was how he wanted to meet a sweet vixen to spend some time with. He smiled and breathed in the fresh air and continued on, stopping just for a moment to sip so water out of the creek when he smelled something or someone near by.

The warm sun was liable to draw out even the slumbering bear, which Avalon felt like when she awoke that day. Squinting into the sun, she quickly started to feel its affects, lifting her heart and mind from the depths of sleep. Tail flicking cheerfully, she padded through the woods, chasing playfully after rabbits and butterflies, until she reached a sunning spot that she had recently found. A nice flat rock, low to the ground, and warmed by the sun without burning her skin. Smiling, she curled up on it, closing her eyes to allow rejuvenation. The wind was the wrong way, and she didn't notice the other presence only a short distance away.

Spearmint lifted his head from the creek and turning around he stuck his muzzle into the gentle wind, the breeze tickling his noes. He sniffed and breathed deeply, "what is that? I smell something." he asked himself. He decided to go see what it was, he moved down the path somewhat cautiously, not that he was afraid, but it never hurt to be careful. After what seemed like some time he came along a sunny spot where the wind gently flowed around in a mini storm of fresh air and pine. He saw what looked to be a fox basking in the bright sun, not wanting to scare the fox, he remained silent unsure if he should speak to introduce himself and disturb their peaceful rest, or back away and remain unnoticed.

She was day dreaming to herself when a new fox entered her day dream, a stranger without a face, but his scent was fairly comforting. No... this wasn't a dream. Her eyes popped open, head raising to alert and searching for the source of the new scent. It took a moment, but she quickly found the shade of green that didn't fit. A male fox... was watching her? She froze, knowing she was rather obvious from his point of view, but it was instinct, eyes wide and glued to the stranger.

He noticed her shift and took a small step back, he looked at he, now that he could see she was was a her. He looked at her his own eyes wide, he hadn't meant to disturb her. He swallowed hard, the vixen was pretty from what he could see of her and he started to become a little nervous. He hadn't been around females all that much and even though he wanted something like this to happen it was still a shock. "Um...Hi I uh..I'm sorry to disturb you." he said trying to smile gently showing her he meant no harm.

Her ears perked forward as he spoke, listening to his words and what was behind them. It sounded like he was being honest. She watched him a moment longer before smiling shyly back, standing slowly, tail flicking in a welcoming manner.

He saw her smile and her tail was swishing gently, he perked his ears up and released the tension that had been in his body and smiled. "Well my name is Spearmint, but you can call me just Mint if you want" he said moving just a little closer.

Avalon cocked her head. "Spearmint." She repeated, nodding her head. "I'm Avalon." She remained on her rock. Easier to get away should the situation change at all. Not likely with this male, but better safe than sorry. She cocked her head the other way. "You do not prefer the name Spear?" She thought males liked the so called power names. Spear would hold more power than Mint... She was curious.

Spearmint smiled "it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance Avalon." thinking for a moment. "Well I guess that you are right, I don't mind the name spear, that is fine too. Just most others just call me the later." he nodded.
(sorry I took so long to respond, I was out of internet for a while. )

"The pleasure is mine, I'm sure." She smiled at the male. He didn't seem so bad. She relaxed a bit. "Well, I don't wish to confuse you, so I'll keep you with Mint." She nodded, daring to step off her rock a couple steps. Yep, his scent was pleasant enough. His fur was maintained and he seemed well spoken. He shouldn't be anyone to fear. She smiled bashfully. Appearances were not a proper way to judge his character. "It's a lovely day out, isn't it?" Start with the basics. That was good.

He nodded his head and smiled. The female was very pleasant in appearance and in action. She seemed kind and he did enjoy talking with her. "Thank you, I appreciate that. " he smiled again, relaxing and letting his guard down just a little. "Yes it is a very lovely day" he smiled not sure what to say next.

Tail flicking mildly, Avalon gave Mint a small smile. "You said... most others call you Mint. Do you live around here then?" She pawed the ground, looking left, right, and back at the male. "I'm a little new to this area, and you're the first fox I've met since coming here. ...Might I trouble you to show me around a little?"

Mint smiled and tried to be a gentlemen as much as possible to the nice pretty vixen. "Well I am not completely and utterly sure were everything is but I do in fact live here, for a short time now. You are the first fox that I have met since coming here as well. So the others I was referring to were friends from where I used to live." he said with a soft smile. "I would be delighted to show you the places around the area I know. " he said nodding.

Ears perking, she flicked her tail. "You're new too? Oh, I would greatly appreciate your help. Maybe we'll find someplace new to go see." She took another step closer, inclining her head for Mint to lead the way. "May I ask why you chose to leave your last home?"

Mint smiled at her and nodded as he slowly started moving forward as she followed him. "Well that would be very nice if we found a new place and I would be glad to help." he thought for a moment and said. "Well I came from Scotland, though I am not sure if I was born there, but I do know that I lived there all my life." he paused again in thought and then said "Well I don't have any parents, I have been an orphan and so since I was a little guy I have been all alone, eventually I made some friends and we kind of made our own family of misfits and that's how I grew up. When I became and adult I said farewell to my friends and came here to try to start a new life, maybe meet a lovely vixen and start a family." he smiled and then blushed softly after realizing her was indeed talking to a lovely vixen, and that he hoped she didn't think him a little strange. Hes swallowed and said "what about you?"
