Xaivary emerged from beneath the trees in the late morning of another summer day, the slightly overcast sky hinting at the chance of rain but not darkening enough to make good on any promises. She peered back and forth at the open stretch of plain before her, vaguely disappointed on this particular occasion that it seemed empty. Normally she wouldn't care, but today by whatever whim of the spirits she was actually a bit... lonely. Probably had something to do with her having gotten used to Deidren and Malcolm being around for a while now.
Nothing to do about it, she supposed. Uncertain of what to do with her thoughts or the restless feelings she was having Xaivary decided to do what she usually did when nothing else seemed appropriate, or for no reason at all; she ran. Ran for the sake of running, to feel the wind rush past, the long grass whip at her legs, for the comfortable burn of muscles. Just to enjoy the moment. She ran for several minutes, beyond the point she normally would have stopped. She would stop, yes, and probably soon, but not... quite yet.

Apple fritter had been flying, like he normally did when he wanted to get away from everything. Though, it was time to actually land. He liked his alone time, yet sometimes it made him think too much which soon made him depressed. It was slowly happening to him today. He felt he wasn't worth anyone's time. Which was one reason he started to fly anyways. To clear his head of any bad thoughts. Even though, that normally didn't work. He found a nice clearing to set down on, slowly going lower and lower.
He was getting much better at landing then he use to be. He use to crash a lot, now it was easier. Having not really had anyone teach him how to land, he thought he did pretty good. Finally he reached to the ground with ease. Little trouble this time, only having to gallop as he landed, which he soon came to a stop. Folding his large gray wings to his side.
Fritter didn't notice anyone at first. He was simply not really looking about. He looked at his wings to make sure all his feathers were in the right order, and then looked to his hooves. Making sure that he didn't some how hurt himself. He seemed very proud of himself this time. A smile crossed his face as he flipped his braided mane. Finally taking a glance around the place. It seemed like a decent enough place to have a graze before moving on.

A shadow passed overhead that was far too large to be a bird. Instinct prompted her to swerve to the side a bit as she looked up, slowing her haphazard dash just enough to prevent her tripping over herself as her attention was split. A mere moment later she identified the somewhat familiar wings and build of a Wind Soquili... but the individual himself was an unknown.
Well she'd been half hoping for some company of some sort, hadn't she? She slowed to a trot and drifted closer as the stranger landed, closing the distance at a fair pace as he occupied himself with giving his person a once over. Once within a decent speaking range, but still far enough to allow for a good bit of caution, she finally stopped. "Morning." No claims of it being good or bad... it just was.

She almost startled him as her voice floated to his ears. They flattened quickly, but went back to normal once the other filled his line of sight. She didn't seem dangerous, at least not from first glance. Which, could be his mistake if he just let his guard down. But she didn't have wings, and he did. That was a slight plus to his comfort. He gave her a small smile.
"Good morning to you, as well." He said. Though, he was really dreading it. He wanted to seem like he was happy. He hated having to explain why he wasn't. It was just easier to fake it, then not.

Xaivary watched the stallion's reaction to her greeting with goggle-hidden eyes, finally tilting her head and shrugging. "If you say so." Whether he seemed to be having a good morning or not, she wasn't going to go and pry.
She eyed his wings for a moment before looking up. "Is it nice up there?" She did not fret that she had no wings. She did not fret that she would never know what it was like to fly. She was satisfied with who and what she was, but that didn't mean she wasn't a bit curious.

He watched her eye his wings for a moment then asked him a question. He wondered if he could truly explain how it was to be able to fly. "It's like running, just without touching the ground. I think it's pretty nice." He said in response. That was the best answer he could give her.
He flicked his braided tail. "You just have to watch out for birds. You don't want to hit them." He tried to joke about it, giving off a little chuckle as he shook his head. He felt like a fool, but perhaps that was a good thing? He wasn't sure.

To equate it with running as he had was actually probably the best explanation he could have offered, in Xaivary's case. She couldn't fly, but she could run, and the thrill she got from her runs was probably not too far off the sensation that a Wind had when flying for the enjoyment of it. "Really? Awesome." The statement was made with feeling enough for one to tell she understood about as well as anyone land-bound could.
"Have to worry about that down here sometimes. Not with the flying birds, so much, unless you catch 'em nesting in the grass. Quails and things, though. And animal burrows." She shook herself slightly, prancing in place a bit to more gently cool down muscles that had been straining a bit just moments before. "I swear sometimes it's like they burrow right in front of me while I'm running just to see if I'm paying attention." She grinned slightly, though, belaying the humor veiled in the statement.

Fritter never thought of that. Never figured that he'd have to worry about land birds if he went running. Then again, you learn new things every day. Some were useful, and some not so useful. "Oh? Well, I guess it's exactly the same as running." He said with a laugh. He'd never knew it was or wasn't. He did run before, but that wasn't as fun when he knew he could fly. Perhaps that's the only reason why he didn't like it much. "Gotta keep you on your toes, I suppose." He said with a chuckle. He wasn't sure he'd like that if something did try to make nests right in front of you just so you'd have to dodge them.

Xaivary peered upward. "Well, maybe not exactly the same. I think it has the same sentiment, though?" She shrugged a bit before offering a mildly amused snort at the "on the toes" comment, peering speculatively at her single white hoof before deciding not to make that comment.
Instead she once again peered up at the gray sky, and then around the immediate area. "Quiet today, huh?" Not that she really minded, per say. It did seem unusual that no one was out this late in the day, cloudy sky aside. Had someone gotten a severe weather warning she hadn't been clued in to?
