Light had never been something that Eydis cared for. Whenever the rays of the sun, or any other form of light, caressed her form, she always felt so exposed. A vulnerability that did not set well with the mare.
So, much like any other day when she found herself awake before the sun had set, she spent her time sticking to the shade. Gazing out at the light filled world from behind her helmet. Her large dark transparent wings tucked against her side as she simply waited for the night.
When the moon once more ruled the sky and the world fell into dark, she would wander.

The sun was slowly setting beyond the horizon and the sky was mixed with all sorts of colors. Most would love to enjoy the lovely scenery, but when one seen it once, it's the same every time.
Not much seemed to phase the tall deer like stallion, seemingly rather emotionless. But that was just him feeling that emotions get in the way and can be deceiving if one knew how to falsely portray them. Despite this, he was rather caring.
Wandering through a clearing on the outskirts of the forest, he lowered his head to graze, the jewels adorning his antlers jingling softly. He was unaware of the other that lurked in the shade as he made his way across the grass.

It was not the stallion himself that caught Eydis' eye, instead it was the many jewels that adorned his body. The gold and jewels glinting in the dying sun light drew her gaze much like a bird's. For a moment, she could not help but stare, memorized by the shiny objects.
Upon shaking herself from her trance like state, Eydis slipped back into the forest. Moving amongst, her whit pelt giving her a ghostly appearance as she walked. Twigs and leaves became snagged in her long tail, but she paid them no mind. For now, her focus was solely on the stallion, and though she denied it, even to herself, his many ornaments.

The large half breed continued to graze on the grass, blissfully oblivious that he was being watched, or at least... eyed. It was only when he lifted his head to scope his surroundings that he noticed something.
It was mostly hearing twigs snapping that drew Rinji's gaze to the trees before him, tilting his head only slightly when he saw something white wisp through the trees. Hmm... what could that be? He thought as he silently watched the 'object'.

When Eydis peered around a tree, she was not surprised to find the male staring back. She had not tried to hide her presence after all. In fact, in the back of her mind, she felt that she had purposefully drawn the attention to herself. It had been lonely since she arrived in this new land, and company would be welcome. Even if just for a short while.
Noting that the reach of the shadow's were steadily growing with every passing moment, with her dark wings firmly tucked against her side, she slowly slipped from the cover that the tree's provided.

Also taking notice of the loss of sunlight, the half-breed shifted his attention to the sky for a brief moment. Sure enough, the sky began to get painted with more darker hues as the sun sank into the horizon. His short tail waggled a bit as he returned his gaze to what caught his attention previously. Now as the other emerged from the forest, he saw that it was another horse.
"Greetings." he called to them softly, bowing his head slightly.

"Good evening," replied the mare bowing her head in turn. Unable to resist, her gaze was once more drawn to the stallions ornaments. Was this stallion an adventurer, and those ornaments the treasures that he'd claimed during his journey? Or perhaps they marked him as a noble?
Such questions were not for her to ask, so the curiosity was locked away. "I am Eydis Darkbane."

His dual-colored eyes had noticed hers eying him, though unaware that it was the jewelry that graced his form, that caught her attention. Either way, it did not bother him. He was used to glances and stares, mainly the uncharacteristic scales gracing his back. He couldn't deny the fact that the helmet drew his attention from time to time, as well as the seemingly transparent wings.
"It is a pleasure to meet you Miss Eydis Darkbane. I am Rinji Kokoro."

"Are you of these lands Sir Rinji Kokoro?" queried Eydis, tacking on the respectful honorific as this stallion had done the same for her. She hoped that he would reply with a yes. Since arriving in these foreign lands, she'd felt lost. A weakness she was seeking to rid herself of as soon as possible. This land would be her new home and it simply wouldn't do for her to be ignorant of its history or ways.
The glinting of the various ornaments continued to draw the mare's attention, but as the last of the sun's light faded, so did the urge. The scales along his back were spared a brief glance, but nothing beyond that. She was used to such oddities and for all she knew, such traits could be common here.

The stallion pondered over the mare's question, having to think on how to answer it. In all honesty and technicality, he wasn't from these lands originally, but had no choice but to come to reside in the Kuwani. With a small shake of his head, jewels tinkling softly, he replied. "Originally, I am not, but now these lands are my home." He used the word home loosely, seeing on how he didn't exactly have one place to return to daily like many did.
He noted the setting of the sun, but wasn't really in a rush to head anywhere in specific, so if the mare needed help, he would oblige her the best he could. Rinji wasn't aware that his baubles were keeping her attention, so to speak, but even if he did, he did not mind. He had just worn them for so long, they pretty much have become like a second skin to him, much like his scales. The only time he was reminded he had them was when something scraped up against them or when he had to shed that part of his body when he grew. Such the life of being part kalona he always figured.
