So I just spent a good amount of time putting together a few playlists for different things in my novel, and though it wasn't my intention, I think I just allowed a few bands to dictate the path of my novel, even up until the ending. Curse music for deciding that one of my main characters is going to die! scream Probably. ninja Curse music for deciding that this story was going to include romance, which I hate doing. ><" Everyone does romance, but I suppose it's necessary if there's going to be war. Yay politics.
Anyway, back to what I was saying. Playlists. Soundtracks. What do yours look like?

Don't worry - you're not. For my previous novel, I had a really long playlist of songs that I liked to write to. A Sampling:
1. Far Away by Nickelback
2. The Long Way Home by Norah Jones
3. As Long As You're Mine from Wicked
This year, I haven't quite figured out what would go well with a bunch of Egyptian dieties running around . . . somehow Steve Martin's King Tut doesn't seem like the best choice.

I have an iTunes playlist, but on my other computer. Let me see what I can remember, though.
1. "Working Class Hero" by John Lennon-- Max's theme.
2. "The Widow" by The Mars Volta-- kind of for both Max and Isra, because it has a literal meaning of a widow (Isra), but it also has a subtext about heroin addiction (Max).
3. "Angel of Death" by Slayer-- Moses ain't dead yet, but he wishes he were.
And damn it, that's all I can remember. I'll get more later, maybe.

And . . . it happens again. I've been working on that stupid plotline for two years now and once again, I'm slamming into a brick wall so hard I just have to sit down and stop . . . so it goes back into the Unfinished folder and I'll prolly pick it up again in a few weeks months years.
But I'm determined to write something, so I'm keeping my original wordcount goal and aiming for the fun-loving murder mystery that I randomly started writing this morning at about 4:00 AM.
