Kasen walked into the area as he was told he was given another chance to learn Kidō with Genji. He looked around to see the area that would be the training zone where he would learn it. An open meadow with a few empty flats where dummies where they were strategically placed. The sky was partly cloudy, yet was very bright and sunny as the sun was now overhead the area. Kasen took off his cloak a bit and placed it on the grass as he waited for Genji. Wiping his brow he noticed how the summer was going to be an enjoyable one.

The day was an excellent one for training. It was clear and placid on all fronts, which was very fortunate concidering the level of difficulty of the Kido he would have to teach today. However, Genji was not worried. He had taugh Kasen before and knew of his skill. After all, like Genji, Kasen was a third seat, and that is a position that requires skill to obtain.
Genji was late to the training. He could only blame himself for misplacing Kasen's file ealier that week. To make up time, he used Shunpo to get to the training field as quickly has possible. His stopped right in the Kasen's view his his clip board in hand and a muffin in his mouth. Right away, Genji new that he didn't stop in time; he wanted to finish his muffin on the casual walk to Kasen's position. A lovely rose color came onto his cheeks. After yanking the muffin out of his mouth, he bowed and greeted his student. "Good morning, Tsuin-san."

"Good morning Genji-san." Kasen said as he noticed Genji and took a small canteen from his person and took the cap off and drank a strange blue liquid from inside. Wiping his chin a bit and putting away the canteen, Kasen's dim purple eyes looked at Genji for a moment and gave a small smile. "Haven't I told you before, formality is one that does not suit me. Just call me Kasen." Kasen looked at Genji who he had only met once before on the same terms, to be taught Kido from him.
"How are you?" Kasen asked as he wanted to have a nice chat before the lessons could begin, to keep things casual of course. He looked upwards at the sky to see a single cloud blocking the sun to give a minor eclipse for a moment as the sphere of light was seen through its shield.

Genji was rather surprised, though happy, to see that Kasen wanted to chat and be refered to in a more casual way. He smiled at his student and offered him to join him on a sit on top of the lush, green grass. Genji sat down with his legs crossed. "I am very glad to see that you would like to talk a bit before training. I find that getting to know someone makes the process of passing down information smoother. That is what I think." Genji looked up at the sky. "I am doing quite well. Where should I start... Oh yes! Just recently advanced to the third seat of Squad 5. I believe now that you and I have the same rank now. I am rather surprised and ecstatic about the promotion. With a higher seat come higher-level kido. Now Yamato-taicho has given me the clearance to learn anything I want under 80. Now, how have you been, Kasen-kun?"

Kasen smiled a bit as he kindly refused the offer. "I am doing well, if you don't count me giving my squadmates a minor beating in a practice session." Kasen said with a small laugh as he realized he did go overboard, though he wondered if dying was better than harming them to stop them. "3rd seat? That's wonderful, I remember my promotion.... It was when we were evacuating the Sereitei, arrancars have just taken over and my squad's previous 3rd seat abandoned us... I was then promoted from an unseated position to 3rd seat, barely gaining shikai and before I know it I was in a seat of power right under the Captain and Vice-Captain." Kasen said as it was a strange memory, and he remembered that he consecutively won two more seating contests and a seating challenge afterward. "Well, that is enough of my past, well congratulations on becoming 3rd seat Genji."

"Thank you," Genji said, still smiling as always. "I am really looking forward to our training. I don't quite know where to begin." Genji pulled a clipboard and pen from his backpack. "Let me see..." He scanned the page that Kasen's information. He tapped the pen to his chin and hummed. "We're going to have a busy day today. All of the Kido on your list range from intermediate to advanced." He then looked up at Kasen. I do believe that last time you and I only practiced some low-lever spells, Hado #11 and Bakudo #21 if my memory is serving me well. It is up to you. Which would you rather start with: Hado or Bakudo?"

Kasen tapped his chin for a moment as he looked at Genji and gave a small smile. "Bakudō, save the destructive spells for later." Kasen said as he was thinking of the old saying, 'save the best for last' as he chose. Still standing, Kasen looked around as he remembered the first bakudō on the list he chose, Shitotsu Sansen. If memory served, that certain kidō allows the user to create a triangle and pin someone down, but he had only seen it once before and didn't completely understand the fundamentals behind it.

"Well then, onward to the next Kido. This one is a lot more challenging by far. It will make you utilize reiatsu control, speed, and correct form all at the same time. Bakudo #30 is one that bamboozles a lot of people. You need to focus a good amount of reiatsu into your finger tip and then form a triangle in the air, leaving streams of reiatsu that connect at the corners. Those streams of reitsu don't last long, so you need to be quick at forming the triangle. However, you must make sure that it comes out looking like a triangle. I've seen a lot of reiatsu scribbles. Those don't quite work. Allow me to demonstrate."
Genji faced a large boulder. He closed his eyes and let his body relax and allowed the reiatsu to flow smoothly through him. Sparkles of emerald glistened around him. The tip of his right index finger was especially radiant.
"Bakudo #30 Shitotsu Sansen!"
Genji hand whipped so quickly that the trianlge appeared in the blink of an eye. Energy daggers appeared at the corners. With a push, the triangle went screaming into the boulder. The three piercing points sent out cracks through out the rock and brought it to crumble.
"It is harder than it looks," said Genji with a light smile. "Trust me. I had to practice this one a lot before it came out as well as it did just now. Don't get frustrated. Take your time and rest if you need it."

"No offense Genji, but reiatsu control is one of my specialties..." Kasen said as he wasn't acting cocky, but he did train himself in using his reiatsu into certain forms and shapes as his techniques relied on him to shape his reiatsu. Closing his eyes to let his body relax and let the flow of energy come to him as his reiatsu began to flow out of him before coming to a point. "Bakudō #30 Shitotsu Sansen!" Tracing his fingertips into the form of a triangle, Kasen opened his eyes to see a strange black triangle, however as he touched it it released its form into an explosion. Coughing a bit as he came out of the explosion with minimal damage, he guessed this was a bit different since he was used to making his attacks explode rather than bind someone down.

Attempting once more, Kasen chanted the Kidō once more as he tried forming the triangle. "Bakudō #30 Shitotsu Sansen!" Tracing his fingers to create a triangle, his fingers glowed purple with dark reiatsu as the triangle was created swiftly in less than a few seconds. A glowing triangle was formed as the three tips became pointed and edged into a small blade-like form to pin the triangle down. Pushing forward, Kasen sent the triangle into boulder, however it dissipated as it tried to approach the boulder.
Kasen tried once more as he gathered reiatsu into his fingertips as he attempted the Kidō once more. "Bakudō #30 Shitotsu Sansen!" Tracing his fingers into the shape of a triangle once more, the Kidō was formed as it was stable this time, however he needed to act quickly. Pushing forth the Kidō, the shot it outward towards a bolder as it was rushing out. Within a moment, the Bakudō slammed itself into the boulder with small cracks coming from the boulder, however it wasn't as large as Genji's demonstration.

"Good work!" Genji chimed.
He shot up to his feet and walked a few steps before stopping and stretching his arms and abdomen with a few twists. He had to get his reiatsu flow back again after such a long rest. That was necessary for the next Kido, which was a lot more difficult.
"I really hope that you don't get discouraged when practicing this spell," said Genji softly and kindly. "It is hard. I have seen plenty of people break down because of the strain. I, too, had trouble with it. I know that I can be frustrating, but you can't let that block you. It can be done. Once mastered, Bakudo #39 will be fantastic tool in your arsenal. To me, it's like a more fantastical upgrade to Bakudo #8 Repulse. Not only is the shield it creates larger, it is far stronger too. If you master it to a high degree, you'll find that there is a lot it will negate. This one will take you're all: focus, form, concentration of reiatsu, and stamina. Watch me."
Genji's eyes shined with the green found in the gorgeous flora in the mystical forests of fairytales. That same emerald radiance resonated around his body, casting the verdant light onto Sadon's astonished face. Genji moved his hands before him.
"Bakudo #39 Arc Shield!"
A mist of reiatsu flowed from Genji's hands and rapidly condenced in front of him into a magnicent, translucent shield if refulgent green that extended to protect his whole body. Genji held it for a few seconds before letting it fade. He breathed calmly.
"Be careful, Kasen-kun. If you need to rest while practicing this Kido, by all means, please do. It will take time and patients. Just know, that once you know it, you will really tick off a bunch of Arrancar with it." Genji smiled sweetly.

"Alright..." Kasen said as he tried to analyze the Kidō carefully as he listened to Genji. "Focus, form, concentration of reiatsu, and stamina." Kasen thought those words in his head as he relaxed his body and let the flow of energy come to him. His body glowing an invisible tangent of purple as Kasen closed his eyes as his body radiated it's natural reiatsu. Chanting the kidō, Kasen tried to create the shield. "Bakudō #39, Enkosen!" Kasen brought his hands out as he tried to create a window-like barrier as his hand released reiatsu, however as he created the Bakudō, cracks appeared as it shattered with a glass-breaking sound.
"Looks like this is going to be a tough one.." Kasen thought to himself as he tried to understand where the Kidō went wrong. "Instability, the concentration of reiatsu and reishi were too minimal and cracked itself..." Kasen studied as he attempted once more at the Bakudō. "Bakudō #39, Enkosen." Waving his head as a glow of purple reiatsu came out as the kidō tried forming itself. A shield began forming as it was more stable and and reached a length of two feet, however after the first feet it shattered once more and broke down as it barely covered Kasen. "This is going to be a tough one..."

Kasen was lying in the grass relaxing as he tried to figure out the Kidō, which slightly frustrated him. He thought systematically as he tried analyzing the Kidō and tried to formulate the steps to make the Kidō work. "The Bakudō is is based on four things according to Genji, if I can work around those then..." As if hit by lightning, Kasen stood up as he was now going to try once more. "Bakudō #39, Enkosen!" Kasen chanted as his body was relaxed, sending out his reiatsu as each form filled his head. "Focus!" His reiatsu was spreading out as he was keeping an eye on the Bakudō. "Form!" As if molding his reiatsu, the spread of reiatsu and reishi became a triangular shape with fan-like blades. "Concentration!" The shape of each part of the Bakudō were becoming even as if a single shape had duplicated around the origin of the figure. "Stamina!" Kasen began spinning the Bakudō as it was now completing a revolution, however after ten revolutions the Bakudō shattered into nothing as Kasen couldn't keep up to keep it alive.
Kasen paced around in the grass as he tried to figure out why he couldn't keep the Bakudō running. "Focus and stamina..." Kasen guessed those two were the two faults as he couldn't keep the Bakudō ongoing. The reason he guessed he couldn't keep it up was that there was an unequal constant flow of reiatsu to keep the Bakudō going. "Bakudō #39, Enkosen!" Kasen chanted once more as he held his hands out as it glowed purple for a moment. The triple-bladed windmill-like fan which was even meant the form and concentration were fine. But now, he needed to keep focus and keep his stamina up as he began spinning the Kidō rapidly as within a blink, two revolutions had passed. Kasen kept his body releasing the reiatsu needed to keep the Bakudō spinning as it kept rotating until a total of six seconds had passed before shattering. "That should be enough for a small attack.." Kasen said as he was becoming exhausted already from learning these Kidō's, however he just needed a moment to relax.

Genji was impressed by Kasen's determination and drive. He did struggle learning the spell, but he pushed through it as Shinigami should. No one should give up on something even if it is hard. That reminded Genji of something. This was going to be the first time he ever taught Bakudo #37, which he learned not too long ago in fact from his captain. It was a spell that was mostly useful in circumstance and hard to learn and even teach. Genji sighed and then smiled. "Well, Kasen-kun, we have one last Bakudo to do on your list. I skipped it because I, honestly, don't have a lot of experience teaching it." It was an obvious hyperbole. "Follow me."
Genji led Kasen to a selection of five trees that were nearly equally spaced apart. "Bakudo #37 is used to provide yourself or someone else with a safety net formed from reiatsu. To make it work, you need five anchor points for the Kido to grab. We'll use these trees." Genji began to breathe in smoothly. "To practice form, focus the reiatsu above you into a shield. Concentrate on the anchor points; imagine their locations in your mind. Then... Bakudo #37 Tsuriboshi!" The reiatsu above Genji solidified and shot out in five directions. Each point struck a tree and held the steady, forming a blanket above them. "This one is tricky, so take your time."
