Requiem ex Inferni

Eloquent Streaker

PostPosted: Wed Jun 02, 2010 11:50 am

So the Jazz Festival was in town, and I decided to go pay the California Military Museum a visit, since it's right there in Old Sacramento and admission was free that day. This is what they had:

- two Browning M1917s aiming right at the doorway
- an M2 Browning with some weird-looking flash hider on the end
- an RPK, AKM with folding stock, two SKSs, and an RPG-7
- either an original M16, or an A1 model- couldn't tell because I don't know how to tell them apart
- M14, M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, BAR, M1911 and M1903 Springfield
- a Trapdoor Springfield and Krag-Jorgensen
- Arisaka rifle in the same display as several Japanese officer swords and a shell from a "knee mortar"
- various flintlocks, most of which were made at Harper's Ferry. The only one that wasn't was the Brown Bess

And the Pièce de résistance, an original Gatling gun. It had been found in the Oakland residence of a man that died, bolted to the floor of his dining room. Apparently, Gatling guns are legal in California as long as they don't have a motor on them, because they aren't technically a machine gun.

There may have been more stuff downstairs, but I didn't get to check it out. I would've taken pictures if I had a camera with me (or a camera phone that didn't suck at taking pictures).

Also, on a semi-related note, I was only three dollars away from buying an $8 machete.

Because there's no trigger. Dear god, that's beautiful. xd
