Talayeh stretched, enjoying the sun's warmth along her back as she reclined on a large smooth boulder. It almost felt like it was made for her~! Its fit was just right. She nestled in it comfortably, letting her mind wander aimlessly. About life, conquests (as she liked to consider a few of them), even a bit about kids. Blech. She never really felt attached, and normally dumped them somewhere where they would be taken care of. Hey, it wasn't like she left them to die. She had heard of mortals doing this.
But for now, relaxation was the key to happiness. Not another silly boy.

The key to Talayeh’s happiness was about to be lost as her relaxation was about to be interrupted by the one thing she didn’t want around. A silly boy. Well, not exactly goofy, Khuluma was not yet at the age to be fully mature and sure of himself to be up to what Talayeh probably would have liked. Still a juvenile, the godling was playing with himself. Taking a break from traveling, he had found a old ribcage that had been bleached in the sun. While he was upset about the animal dying, it soon went away when he found out the ribcage rolled, and was now playing with it. Unusually quiet, he was batting it about, watching it roll and skip across the dusty dirt and clatter about. He used his back paws, made wide side swipes that showed he wasn’t well practiced as others his age should have been, and due to the excitement, felt a indescribable desire to bite the bones and curl his claws about it. This was something that brought about a lot of satisfaction to him, and he rolled on his back, forgetting about keeping his hair pristine and clean, to toss the ball up before it bounced out of his paws and further away.
Rolling on his side, he watched it roll further away, before he noticed something that was just as bleached white as the bones and caused him to be just as excited. A GODDESS! How often had he been not paying attention and noticed another immortal. Most who knew better would have taught him to recognized the feelings of another immortal’s presence, but he wasn’t very good at it. Getting to his feet and still bubbly with playing, something he rarely did as he was always alone, he skipped his way over. “Hello! Greetings! Good day!”

Talayeh thought she had heard something rumbling around, but it was probably just some dumb bird or prey beast that had wandered too close to her. She didn't care enough to shoo them off, and if they were smart enough to leave her alone, well, she could let them carry on in their own way. The only problem was that it wasn't some dumb bird or beast. It was something much worse than that.
The greeting startled her out of her relaxed state of mind. She grumbled as she shifted to see just what was making such a ruckus.
When she had opened her eyes enough to look, she wished that she hadn't. Ignorance wouldn't work this time. With a grunt, she turned to face the bright coloured boy (even if he was a little dingy), coming her way.
"Am I supposed to greet such loud company?" she sighed.

Khuluma braked to a full stop before her when he saw he had woken her and, in turn, annoyed her. She didn't look pleased to see him, and it was not his aim to make anyone dislike him from the start. If you didn't make a good impression, then you were less likely to have that person hear you out. She didn't even seem to want to talk to him, and he looked over at the ribcage he was playing with. This is what he got for acting like a child, and now he was being seen as a fool. How bad of him!
"That's up to you to decide, but talking to me is a great way to greet someone. You're already doing it now so Hello again. I'm sorry for waking you. I didn't mean to destroy your beauty sleep, but you don't seem to need it. I'm sure you could stay up for an eternity and still look pristine. I love your hair. " Flattery was a great way to recover someone's good favor, and he so wanted her to like him.

Talayeh hadn't noticed the ribcage. ALl she recalled was a loud ruckus being made. She glanced over at it, eyes narrowed. That? It did remind her of a childish thing to do, but then he recovered quite nicely. Nicely indeed.
"Oh? You're very good at compliments," she purred, bustling herself up to look down at him again, but this time not in such a negative matter. What beautiful girl didn't enjoy flattery? Keep it coming. "It wasn't quite beauty rest, but I appreciate your apology." She rested one paw on top of the other, her gold bracelets jangled as she settled herself in. "I'm sure your mane is more flattering if not caught right after a playful bout," she grinned. Might as well feed a little compliment back, it always helped in receiving more.

If there was one thing he liked best about compliments, it was the general politeness in returning one back. While not a girl, Khuluma was of the persuasion that felt that any boy would love to be called pretty in one form or another. He had many things to compliment about which mean that no one should find themselves at a loss at making a general observation about how lush his mane was or gorgeous his spots were. Not with all the time he liked to take making sure he was cleaned to impress.
Still, he was aware now that his hair must be a mess, and he reached up and self-consciously touched it, bringing his claws down to start to comb it into looking neat. "Thank you. I try and keep it tidy. You're hair is lovely. I believe with full conviction that the God of Manes would puff with pride at seeing such long, lovely white hair. I'm particularly envious of all the flowers and such a tidy braid. It's only a shame that some of it hides your golden eyes." He smiled again, and noticed the long trail of fur going down her back. Peculiar, but it looked soft.
"So, what would tucker a goddess like you out to rest your eyes, if I may be so bold?" And he was, at this particular moment.

Hmph. This little brat had a way with words. Pity he was still so young. With brains like that, he could fit himself anywhere he liked in this world, or even within the god realm. Unless he charmed the wrong god/dess, but she doubted it. Even with his little 'slip up' of playing, he could recover with grace and ease. She narrowed her eyes at him for a moment, wondering if one day when he was older, which side he would be on? In Talayeh's view, there were some gods she despised, and her wrath wasn't pretty.
Oh well, time for a little more charm.
Reaching with a paw, she brushed at the braid, proud of it. "So kind, to express worry for me, a stranger." She lowered her paw, letting her eyes brighten for a moment before letting a flash of fake-sorrow run through her face. "It's hard, the demands of mortals. I feel so run down at times. So I need to pamper myself once in a while, even if that means just having a day to myself."

Oh! She had been working. How awkward was this?! He hadn’t even been that familiar with mortals and had yet to really work for them. Here he was playing when he probably should have been trying harder in doing his job as a god, whatever that was. The real problem was that he just didn’t know what was all in the package of helping a mortal, and then there was the general fear that one mortal bigger than he was would just tear him to shreds. Pretty as he was, he had meant some mean gods and was sure that there were mean mortals, too.
While he didn’t want to mention that he was essentially slacking, he decided just to place the focus on her. “The fact your exhausted only means what great service you provide in being this dedicated. The mortals probably don’t know what troubles you go to tire yourself out to this extent. You really seem to deserve a day off.” Compliments won over others, and he had yet to know if this goddess would take kindly to him. For now, he was trying to smooth over his horribly introduction of waking her up.
“May I ask what you exactly do? It must he hard and burdensome if you have to work so much.”

With a stern look, she studied him for a moment. She usually looked a little stern, but it would remain undisclosed as to why. Still, she couldn't help but like him, little brat. He'd grow up to be somebody. She let her tail flop in the air behind her, wanting to piece her words together well. He was too good with them, and he'd upstage her no matter how she tried, so she let herself relax. No need to be the best at everything.
"You're much too kind. I work hard, but then, I'm very much in demand," she purred. "Usually with the females, though." She didn't mention how she enjoyed the males' company at times, either. He didn't need to know everything, though perhaps that sharp mind of his might pick it up.
"I'm Fertility," she replied, patting the end of her long mane idly. It was always awkward to just sit and stare at who you were talking with the whole time, but she quickly returned her gaze to him. "Talayeh is my given name, though," she smiled. "May I ask the same of you?" Name and domain, anyway.

Fertility was something he knew about as he had been in a herd that had a few pregnancies. The reference to children got under his skin, and his ears flickered in distaste. Ever since Pala had children of his own, the idea of pregnancies and his own disability to have any of his own got to him. Then again, Fertility could also mean that the males were fertile, which didn’t set right with him either. If Pala hadn’t been fertile to begin with, he wouldn’t have had kids and there would have been no evidence of his mating with that goddess. While he wasn’t blaming Talayeh for just doing her own duty as a god, he had mixed feelings about what her domain did in relation to his own life.
Still, he wasn’t about to let that ruin things, and holding his tongue, he gave her a very proper introduction though it lacked some of the perkiness it had before. “I do apologize. I’m usually snappier with the introductions. My name is Khuluma, god of Rhetoric.” He kept his eyes on her, more to show that she had his attention while her own eyes seemed to wander. “Talayeh, it’s a pleasure to meet you. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be needing your services anytime soon.” He had no one to have children with and he didn’t have a womb. Oh, to be a boy!

She had no idea what affect she had had on his life. And really, even if she did, she might not care that much. She couldn't control every aspect, and knowing that she brushed off the blame easily. Mostly. For some reason hybrids always had gotten under her skin. She just found them freakishly creepy, as they were only rarely fertile, and their systems weren't really build for children.
Still, she laughed. No reason to let herself think too much. Fellow gods never bothered her, not often. "Oh, I don't think you'll have any problems needing my services," she giggled. "Most gods don't seem too, especially the males." She paused, giving him another glance. But... "Perhaps you might be more reserved, even with your skilled tongue. I shouldn't lump all the male gods into one set, I apologize."

The suggestion about his skills as a talker were only taken as that as he had yet to think about them as ways to court a mate. For now, he took it as a compliment, and smiled in response. “I am good with my words, I admit, but I’m not fully grown just yet. I think I have a ways to go, but thank you.” He had yet to know how he would turn out in the future, but he didn’t think he came off as being too shy. Considering how quick he was to talk to her, why would she call him reserved? Well, he was alone. It seemed being smooth with talking didn’t help him keep the company he wanted. He hoped time would fix that.
“It’s good not to lump all us males together. I’ve met some Gods that I would not like being associated with all that much, and I’ve met many who were all unique in their own way. You can’t say that I am not something striking that you’d run across any day of the season?” To let her get a better view, he posed on all fours, chin slightly lifted and eyes lowering to show fully how beautiful he was. “I don’t pair up all the Goddesses together. If I did, I’d be wrong to place you with just any Goddess. You’re certainly someone different than the rest.” Then again, every Goddess he met was special in their own way.

She smiled. "Okay, okay, you've got me. I'm not the nicest goddess you may run into, and you've caught me in that." She crossed her paws in front of her again, a little embarassed, and yet irritated at that. "I am heavily biased towards things, and it is something I've never been too good at hiding."
"You're very conceited though, just like me," she said with a grin. "That might be dangerous when you get older, but I'm sure you can handle yourself. You're doing quite well, now. Well, besides your random moment of play, but I think we can all forgive ourselves here and there." Besides...it was kind of cute, even if it was a ribcage of some poor long-dead beast.

It was Khuluma's turn to be a bit embarrassed with himself. Looking over his shoulder, he felt a degree of shame to be playing around when he should be acting more mature. Right? Still, he wasn't doing anyone any harm and what someone did in private was their own business as long as it didn't affect others. As he saw it, it was perfectly okay to play around with the ribcage, even if he knew beforehand that it wasn't something he usually did. It was why he was trying it.
"Ah, well, that. I usually don't play that often. I thought I'd...give it a bit of a try." He had found it foolish at first, but he really did start to enjoy himself in the simplest of activities at times. It was just the didn't want her to get the wrong impression that he was a simpleton by finding some enjoyment in playing around with a ribcage.
Moving along to better subject than his moment if childish playtime. "I am good at taking care of myself. Thanks for noticing. I've always been independent. It does help that I'm a looker." He smiled, nearing the goddess. She seemed to be sharing some similarities in their personalities. "I'm sure that if I can handle myself now, I can face whatever danger may come my way when I'm older. I think the other gods and goddesses I meet fear for my welfare because I'm by myself, but if I have been traveling this long on my own, it's proof that I know what I'm doing." Even if it was terribly lonely.
"You seem to handle yourself very well even if stressed out by your duties. I see you're alone. I bet you're very smart and independent." Buttering up a little, maybe, but it worked to make friends.

Talayeh grinned. "I don't know if I'd say I worry for you...perhaps you could paint me impressed. I don't see gods at your age all alone. You've got the skills to keep yourself safe, even as you say," she purred. She shifted her forelegs, crossing the right over the left, the bangles on her forelimbs making a bit of noise as they settled.
"Stress comes with the job. It's how you learn to handle it is where the skill comes in." She twitched her tail, very content. "I love being independent. I'm not one to be tied down to the ideals of a mate and family. Being free is the way I was meant to be." She would ask him the same, but...he might not know that yet.
"As you've said, you're quite confident to be out alone. I presume you have friends to stay with at times, though?" At the very least, for company.
