Yaaaawn!
Man, life was a bore lately. Talayeh was satisfied in her personal matters, but there wasn't much else going on. No drama to get into. No fights to witness. Nothing. She hadn't even felt much the urge to flirt like she normally did. All in all, it was a little lazy patch in the goddess' life, and she was hoping to fill it up with something.
The quickest way to get some attention was to show everything she's got. This meant for her that she didn't hide her long mane, fuzzy back, short petite wings, or the flashy gold she adored wearing. It always got her attention, and at this moment she was ready for anything, good or bad. Anything to make the dragging day go on sooner.
"Man, the mortal realm can be so boring," she grumbled, though the Haven had been quite lately. More life in it, but no real arguing of the mighty egos that gods always have.

The world was wonderful today. The sunlight shone warm along her pale fur, and the ground was pleasently soft under her paws. It was an improvement from when she'd been wandering around with that young lion on his quest, it had been almost unbearably hot but she'd found her way back to the small oasis-like pool before either of them ran into serious trouble. They'd parted ways a few days back, him to continue on his quest and her...well. She'd just been continuing what she always did. Wandering, meeting new people and making new friends. It was a simple sort of thing to do, there were no awe-inspiring goals or grand schemes, but it was a life she enjoyed. That was all that mattered, right?
Purring softly to herself at the soft swirl of pleasure from the fact that by tomorrow she'd be seeing her adoptive daughter again, Keena almost missed the beautiful white lioness. Which was really quite unlike her! She liked to think she was moderately observant, and so she paused immediately, glancing slightly behind herself to better see the figure she'd glimpsed from the corner of her eye. She was a distance away... and even though this lion had a silky cascade of mane there was no doubt in her mind that she was female. How...odd.
Wait a second. Were those little things on her back wings? Not just pretty little markings, but actual wings? Was...was she a goddess? How could she have almost missed seeing her?
Feeling rather rude, and quite guilty about it, Keena changed her direction to lope towards the beautiful white stranger. A mane full of flowers, graceful little wings, and a soft streak of hair along her back. Definitely not normal. And the little god she'd met only a few days ago had told her that if she met someone else with wings then they were probably a god, or a goddess in this case.
"Good morning," the small lioness called while she was still a few lengths away, not wishing to intrude on any sort of personal space or anything. Some people got quite upset over such things, and Keena did so hate to upset people.

"Hm?" Talayeh's ear caught the greeting, and her head was quick to turn and notice the origin of the greeting. A cute little thing, Talayeh determined. She folded up her small wings along her back, and took a couple more steps closer, just for a good look. And not for Talayeh to get a good look of her visitor, no. The vain goddess always craved for attention, and this one looked like she might offer a little bit. No worries, Tala wasn't one to be completely selfish; everyone always deserved to share a little of what they wanted.
"Good morning," she purred, feeling a little content with this run in. Better than a little cub-brat wanting to "play". Talayeh didn't play, not anything that cubs could. "It seems you've met at least one god before, as you don't seem that shocked." She didn't mind, with a swish of her long mane of hair. She still had just enough glamour to get attention without being frightening. Some of those poor gods out there were just ugly, and scared away any attention they might want. Poor souls.
"Not that I mind," she vocalized her feelings, as she didn't want to come off too rude, not so soon into the conversation. "Just an observation."

Wings. They really, really were. Two gods now? A lifetime of uncertainty, and now she'd met two? How...how was this...was this really possible? Keena paused as the god, no, goddess was most assuredly the term, moved closer.
"Well, I...yes. Yes, I have, once," Keena confirmed, her eyes drawn to the softness of the fur running along the other's back. "He was a handsome young god...all golden and white and... are all the gods beautiful?" she heard herself asking, her eyes tracing the warm markings against the pure white fur. Only a goddess could keep fur that color looking so very clean... "My name is Keena," she added, a bit hastily. She'd hate to be rude and forget to introduce herself, she'd had a conversation or two where it completely slipped her mind and she felt rather bad about it.
Besides, she was pretty sure that it would be more insulting to be rude, even accidentally, to a god. Or goddess.

Talayeh loved being right. She felt herself preen mentally, listening intently to the mortal's words. Well, she got part of her observation correct. "Most of the gods are," she clarified. "Some of them are ugly, but trust me, you don't want to talk with the ugly ones. They're what we like to call the 'negative' ones, things that are certainly not good for you or your saftey." She could think of one that she had confronted, Chaos. What a disgusting creature.
"I'm Talayeh," she said happily. "A pleasure," she lied. It was ok, Keena wouldn't know. Tala was good at lying, and fluffing up the ego of others. "I'm also known as Fertility."
Talayeh had to admit...Keena was pretty. Not enough to feel jealous, never, but enough to think that whatever male she might be with should count himself lucky.

The ugly gods? They were unsafe? Keena's head tipped quizzically to one side. She hated to be one to judge on appearances, but her experience with gods, and goddesses, was exceedingly limited. Perhaps it would be better to take this goddess' advice...however much it might differ from her own veiw points. It still felt wrong to avoid someone just because they looked odd to her. Why, if she'd done that...then she'd have never met Khuluma!
"Fertility?" Keena repeated, frowning faintly. That was...that meant... oh. Life. A fertile place was one that could sustain life, it was healthy and lush and... "What a wonderful thing to be in charge of!" the young lioness purred brightly, "No wonder you look so lovely, if the good gods and goddess are the beautiful ones."
((On a side note, and this has been a source of amusement lately due to Keena's meeting this particular goddess...she doesn't actually know where babies come from XD Her mother wandered off when she was little, and no one's ever bothered mentioning... rofl. So, if she seems slow, that's probably why.)))

Talayeh tilted her head to the side, her ear flicking as she glanced at the cute little mortal. That wasn't the reaction she was expecting. No begging for babies? No begging for a flourishing life of family? Certainly Tala's views had been skewed from the selfish mortals, making the goddess hold a bitterness to mortals (typically females) and an unfair bias as to their opinions. Again, just like the meeting with the hybrid creature, she was proven wrong. Talayeh needed to lighten up a bit.
Decided that she favored this girl over such a small, yet warming feeling, she warmly smiled. "You're so sweet," she said happily. "Sometimes it can make others ugly, wishing for things I can't always be responsible for. You aren't one of those, you're quite...charming." She added a little emphasis to the last word, though it was in a good tone.

"Oh, thank you," Keena stammered, not having been expecting that sort of comment to begin with. Sweet she'd heard before, but...charming? Well, it sounded like the goddess thought it was a good thing, though there was something funny about how she'd said it...almost. It...it was hard to place. But it sounded nice, who was she to get all nitpicky over a compliment? Especially from a goddess!
"Do...do people ask you for things often?" the lioness asked uncertainly. After all, that was probably considered rude, to pester a god for something all the time.

Talayeh loved to make things seem dramatic, especially when it came to her. She decided to tone it down a bit, since perhaps this girl didn't quite know what might be requested of a god.
"Oh, not too many different things, but the same thing often enough. It's always asking for more cubs, stronger cubs, things like that. I don't know why so many females seem to think that having more cubs is a better thing." She lamented, wondering if males had something to do with that. They were just as responsible for how many than females, but someone they were the ones to feel the shame more than males. At least, for what she had come across in her travels, and listening to 'prayers' of a sort.

Cubs? Well…that was interesting. It made sense though, for someone associated with life and richness and such…it would be good to have someone like that looking after your cubs. Though there were often so very many cubs, it would be frustrating to be asked so very often.
…except the goddess had just said she was asked to give cubs, not look after them. How did that work? The gods didn’t give people cubs…did they? Actually, that might make sense… though if that was how it worked, wouldn’t more people believe in the gods than did?
“Well, cubs are quite adorable,” Keena smiled, “I wouldn’t mind having a cub around again, Star is almost all grown up now. She’s probably going to be bigger than I am, but I’m on the small side so it’s not a big surprise. But I like cubs, they’re so very cute!”
Not that she was trying to ask the goddess for cubs, heavens no. It was just conversation to her. And she did like the idea of someone as lovely as Talayeh granting someone the little loves they so pined for.

Talayeh watched her carefully, but there seemed to ill intent in her words. Was she just playing nice, or blissfully ignorant? She didn't know which was better, but she decided to go for the latter. That made her sweet, if incredibly naive. She was lucky no male had decided to take advantage of that fact. Especially those with silver tonuges.
"A cub? So you have had a litter before?" she asked, curious. Especially with only one, that was interesting. Talayeh herself didn't like the little brats, all that whining, and getting dirty, and just being a handful. She usually found some sympathetic lioness to dump them on (while disguised as a mortal herself, as it made things easier) and went on her merry way. So in a way, the goddess did give cubs, just not in the most righteous of ways.

”Kind of?” Keena tried when the goddess asked if she’d had a litter before. ”Kisun found her one morning when she was still smallish. She said she didn’t remember any family, and we couldn’t find anyone else when we looked. So we just took her with us and she’s kind of mine and kind of Kisun’s and a little bit Dysi’s, and he has other cubs for her to play with so she isn’t lonely anymore. But she’s getting so big now…wait,” the lioness froze, golden eyes widening faintly. ”She wasn’t supposed to go to someone else, was she? “
The idea that she’d stolen someone’s cub had never before occurred to her. It was frightening to think that someone somewhere was saddened by the loss of a baby, and it would be her fault! Her ears laid back in distress, it was far too late to give Star back now… but maybe she could find the lion or lioness who was supposed to have been given the cub and explain…?

Talayeh twitched her tail, back and forth, amused. It wouldn't be kind to let her worry for too long, so Talayeh shook her head. "I don't see anything wrong with it," she answered. "I mean, if she had a mother looking for her, then you probably would have found out by now. Mothers can be crazy sometimes," she shrugged, never feeling very possessive about her own children that were out and about.
"The fact that you, and I'm assuming your little group, took her in probably saved her life. Little ones don't survive well on their own. They usually die." She looked indifferent, but as much as Talayeh didn't put too much care into her cubs, she did always make sure that they had a good place to be raised. Didn't want guilt following her.
"So you shouldn't worry too much."

Ears laid back, Keena waited anxiously for the goddess' answer. She didn't know how she'd fix her mistake if she'd done wrong, but she would certainly try! Her eyes were drawn to the motion of the soft fluffy white tail as it flicked back and forth, and she shuffled her own paws nervously until...
"Oh, oh good," she breathed, not having realized she was holding her breath until just that moment. "I would hate to think I stole her from someone! She's with Dysi right now, I'm not sure where Kisun's gotten off to, but he's a pride to go back to and they're not so fond of lions. I was on my way to get her just now," the lioness explained, worry evaporating rather rapidly. Well, the goddess who gave people cubs told her she shouldn't worry about whether or not she'd stolen little Star. "He's probably showing her how to make flower crowns like his other daughters, he showed me once but mine look...ah...dead..."

"Hmmm." Talayeh paused, debating her forthcoming action. She didn't see anything but truth coming out of the little lioness, and as a suspicious goddess herself, hoped that this wouldn't make the lioness think she had something over Tala. Probably not...but Tala was jaded. Still...
"Here," she said, plucking one of the small pink flowers in her long mane. She handed it over to the adorable little Keena. "Why don't you take that to her? Make it the crown jewel on her crown." Talayeh was vain, but she felt a little pleased at the charity of this lioness and her companions. "Make sure to tell her who gave it to you," the goddess chuckled, feeling vain, and yet...content. Motherly? She hoped not, she was never a very good mother.
