I'm actually a fan of Chris, and I remember coming across this video shortly after it came out:
LADY GAGA INVENTED OXYGEN!?
What does everything think about this, and the issue of comarisons related to Lady GaGa?
I can agree with what he says in the video; there comes a point when it just gets pointless, how everything is being compared with GaGa. Yes, people cosplay or model themselves, their avatars, whatever, after GaGa. But she is the only one who is "Lady GaGa" and she is her own unique individual. I think the biggest problem, is the press, trying to use the comparisons to start heat and cause problems, all for the sake of making more money.

Just another human flaw, really. It happens to everyone who gets big, ya know? People will always naturally compare, compare, compare. It's with everything, and as a fan of Mixed Martial Arts, it seems you can't even get away with "copying fighting styles" anymore. Some of my favorite fighters are accused of copying fighters before them from what I see on YouTube. Stupid, in my opinion.
But you're right, it's a lot on the press too. People are just gonna have to live with it .. If you're wearing high heels or something a tad bit crazy, someone might call you Lady Gaga. Haha, that's the impact that came with the quick rise in fame of Gaga.
The title of Chris' video implies what we've been trying to argue about with other people ( Miss Mosh, Kerli, etc.). They didn't invent latex or blonde hair lol.
On the flipside of all this though, Lady Gaga isn't going out there and calling everybody who has similar fashion sense a "copycat". I think that's all that matters, really.

That is because she is such an amazing person in terms of within. She is a kind, caring person who doesn't let herself get dragged down by all the stupid people. Instead, she puts all of her heart into the music, the fashion, the art itself, in order to share something beautiful and pure with anyone, fan or not. The fact that she has had such an influence to where everyone is being compared, just goes to show what an amazing impact she has had on the world of fashion, among other things. Though, I'd like to see how my avatar could be looked at in such comparison to Lady GaGa pirate

People just like to skim the surface with these things..this isn't even a case of bad fan failing it's just the general public not opening their eyes. It's things like this that make GaGa fans like us look bad too.I'm glad to see that at least Chris gets the message out there..

Oh I remember watching that. In a way I agree with him because Lady Gaga is so well known in the fashion industry so people are going to automatically think of her when they wear something a little outrageous, or something that they normally wouldn't wear. For instance, I saw this really cute leather jacket at a thrift store and I thought Lady Gaga. I really wish I could have gotten it emo

Finally, someone has actually addressed the issue. surprised
As much as I love Lady Gaga, she's not the first person in the history of mankind to dress in an over the top manner. She didn't invent avant garde, for chrissakes. Thankfully the reigion I live in doesn't think that far unless you dress exactly like her. For example, the other day I made myself a totebag out of nothing but black duct tape, some "CAUTION" tape, and a Rice Crispies box. It was somewhat inspired by the "CAUTION" tape outfit in the "Telephone" video, but not entirely and rather than getting Gaga-related comments I just had so many people tell me how awesome it was and that I'm a great designer.
Nonetheless, as long as no one is dressing like her in real life (Gaia's fine, consdiering it's the Internet and no one gives a s**t here) it's all good.
