Kule yawned. It had rained the night before, and he was wet - the humidity of the forest soaked through his fur and slicked it down. He felt stupid, but every time he tried to dry his fur, it would go back to the slicked wet mess in a matter of seconds.

A sigh pushed from the male's maw.

He hated days like this, when the weather couldn't decide wether is wanted to be hot or cold. He shook his mane a bit, letting the water droplit drip from the tips. Perhaps he could find someone to hunt with?

Semira was adjusting to life yet again. She knew it was only a amatter of time until her cubs would be leaving her again to head on there naming quest, something she wasn't sure she was going to handle all that well, after all Semira didn't handle change too welll, she just wanted a simple easy life in the place she had chose as home.

Pulling herself out of her den, where few of her cubs reamined sleeping she tried to put a smile on her face. She hadn't suffered too many consequences since the realization that the one she had flung with had killed others, but she was still worried about what was being said to the cubs. She shook her head trying to get the negatives thoughts out of her head. Perhaps a good hunt could clear the lioness' mind.

Blazing pink eyes were dark and cloudy as Kule searched through the trees for someone. He moved, white paws browned with mud. He stepped, glaring through the fog that tended to settle in the lower areas of the swamps.

She took a deep wiff, smelling the thick heat that surrounded him as well as the thick scent of lion.

Perhaps he would fine someone soon.

Semira slipped through the trees and froze before she recognized the brown and white lion that was there. She bowed her head in greating to him, happy that she had found someone she thought of as a friendly face. Her red eyes smiling at the lion.

"Sorry to intrupt, but I am glad to see you again." Semira greated the lion before her. Something in this lion made Semira feel a little warmer in her heart. Perhaps Kule could be a good friend to her, as she went through the transition of her cubs growing older.

Kule's bright pink eyes swiveled to look at a dark figure with gleaming ruby eyes. He gave a smile, recognizing the lioness. "Ah, hello, Semira," he greeted with the name he knew her by. The smile didn't leave his face and he stepped closer to her.

"What's got you out an about?" he asked amiably.

Semira smiled, she enjoyed having soemone to talk to this morning. She loved her cubs dearly but they weren't exactly the best to have a conversation. "This morning I thought taking a walk would be nice, I am trying to get use to the idea that I may very well be alone soon." she held back a sob as she spoke.

"Its difficult as I have never had a naming quest myself, but I know that the cubs must go and find their true names." she smiled, she knew the ways of the pride, and she loved to call this place home, but it made her sad to know that her cubs would be going off. "How about you, what has you out and about?"

Ah, so the loss of her children is what she was bothered by. He didn't have children himself, but his own naming quest - leaving was exciting, but he eventually returned. "They will all someday return to you. It's what most cubs look forward to here." He told her gently.

Of course, many of the Pilgrams never returned to the pridelands, but he said nothing of it. Some of his own sibings hadn't returned, but he assumed they woul eventually.

"Ah, the air was too thick and hot, and it clings to my fur. I get restless on days like these," he gave a small chuckle. He paused. "Mind if I walk with you, then?"

"I would enjoy the company." she said lightly as she began to walk through the swamps. Breathing in she sighed, "The air is thick today, though I think I prefer the humid air compaired to the dry heat of the desert." she frowned a little, thinking about her past it hadn't been an easy one by any means.

"I use to live in the desert, I actually used to live in a whole other pride." Semira smiled thinking about her family, "I had a large family eight brothers and sisters, in addition to my parents, it was a comfly happy life." As she spoke the dark lioness continued to walk, her voice began to get lower, as she talked.

"I was seperated from my family though, when other lions attacked our home, I don't even know if they are still alive." her voice drifted.

He gave a small nod. He spposed the moist hair was better then the dryness. When he had left the lands, his body dehydrated more quickly and his nose and paws cracked and bled painfully until he got used to it.

He listened quietly though, as she spoke, not knowing what to say.

"After my home was raided, I got lost. I spent most of my time all on my own. It was very hard for me to trust anyone, I thought that every creature I encountered was possibly one of those that came to my home and distroeyed it. It was terribly sad and very lonly. It wasn't till I met up with my family.... the lions that I joined the pride with, they were my family, they were the first ones I was able to trust."

Semira had stopped walking, she was lost in her thoughts, almost at times forgetting that she was talking to someone else. She felt like she was reliving her past. It was hard, her eyes were filling with tears, she shook them away. For one reason or another she felt that sharing this with the male lion was a good idea.

"I feel so bad that I brought hime here, we brought tha tmonster here.... I had cubs with him. My cubs have his blood in their veins." It was the first real time that Semira had really spoken to someone else about all that had happened, and how she felt about it. "I came here in the hopes of a safe home, and I brought the monster with me."

The words spilled out of the lioness' mouth, she colapsed right after saying it all. Heaving with tears.

Kule listened to the story with a frown upon his maw, unsure weather to get closer to comfort her or not. He wanted to, desperately, since she seemed so upset. He jerked back when she stopped walking and talking all together, and he watched her in curiosity.

He was almost startled when she started talking again, but refrained. "Semira..." he said in a soft tone, lowering his body next to hers as she began to sob. "Sem... It's alright. He's gone now, and no one else will get hurt. Cubs don't follow the path of their fathers. Your cubs are strong and kind. You raised them well."

He paused, nudging her a bit and giving her a small nuzzle, eyes shining with concern. "They will not turn out like him..."

Bright red eyes lifted towards the male lion, his words were so kind, an they went into her where she needed them to be the most. She felt slightly embaressed about her break down. She gathered herself to her feet, an tried to look presentable again. "I am sorry I shouldn't have broken like that." she said in a quiet voice.

She looked towards Kule, hoping to see something in his eyes, perhaps a forgiving nature. Kule seemed to be a very kind lion, and perhaps he could be a good friend to Semira, she certaintly needed those in her life.

Kule gave a small smile and returned to his feet and watched her with kind, concerned eyes. The smile was sad though, and he knew she tried to be strong. He shook his mane and bit, letting the water drip from them in large drops.

His mind whirred a bit. He knew of her times, now, both in an out of the pride - yet, she didn't have a name yet. He frowned, shifting. And then, he decided.

"It's alright to break down sometimes... Shakuntala."

Semira lifted her eyes up further, "Shakuntala?" she asked her head cocked to one side. She didn't realize it at the time but she had jsut found her new name. She hadn't expected to find her name today, she hadn't known when it would come to her, only that a member of the pride would be the one to tell her.

"Is.... is that my new name?" she asked in a whisper.

Kule only gave a small nod, and gave her a smile. "I'd like to officially welcome you as a member of the Jini-msemi pride," he said almost teasingly in a hope to bring up her spirits. The name had easily slipped from his tongue when he spoke the sentance before.

It just... fit.

Semira smiled, she was no longer Semira, but now Shakuntala, it was so excited. She looked up into the sky thanking the spirts, she was a member now, a full memeber, this was amazing. She looked back at Kule, "Thank you." she said again.

She looked around her realizing how light the world around her had gotten, the early morning had gotten away from here..... she should be returning to her cubs, she did want to spend as much time with them as possible. "I am sorry I must go....." she moved quickly towards Kule and gave him a quick lick on the cheek before darting away, she couldn't wait to tell her cubs, and sister, she was a member

Kule gave a laugh as she thanked him, only to stop and blush at the lick. He shook his head, trying to rid his face of the added heat. "See you," he called out as he watched her go. He let a small smile creep to his face and turned, deciding now would be a good time to hunt.
