It was cold, and Dysi did not fair well with cold. It was still sunny and should be warm, but a biting wind was blowing through and making the male shiver. He was tucked up under a tree, watching the surrounding foliage shiver and shake in the breeze. He had slipped away from his family to go out walking, but it was too blustery to do any real traveling, unless he wanted to be cold, which he didn't.
He coiled his tail around his legs where he sat, and hunched his shoulders. Obviously, someone was telling him he shouldn't' be walking today, but still, his feet itched to continue moving. So many things to see, before he had to go home again. Not that he disliked his home, but sometimes the traveling bug bit and he really disliked staying still when that happened. He sighed a little, and gave a tiny shudder as the wind whipped around the tree to ruffle his fur coldly.

Mihika shivered as the wind's chill bit into her fur. "I need to get movin' again." She commented as she hunkered down against the cold ground. Her mouth closed in a snarl as she watched a small hare dart out in front of her path. Her stomach gave a silent protest as her mind visualized the warmth of the prey in front of her as she tore into it.
The leopardess licked her lips one last time before tensing her back legs to pounce. For anyone nearby it would seem like the grass itself had erupted into a feline figure as Mihika raced after the escaping hare.
Mihika let out a yelp of surprise as she tumbled over some loose dirt and watched the hare sadly as it dived into a hole beyond her reach. "No gettin' warm through food this time it seems." With a sigh she laid on the cold ground and shut her eyes against the bright sunlight.

A flash of green, moving faster than a patch of grass would, even in this wind, caught Dysi's eye and he twisted his body so he could focus on the movement. Oh. He realised what it was quickly enough, it was a leopardess. He hadn't seen many of his own species before, tending to spend more of his time around Cheetahs than leopards but he was pleased to see her anyway.
She was talking to herself or someone else, but Dysi couldn't hear what it was. He eyed the freezing wind that ruffled the tree leaves and decided he may as well walk out, since it was far too cold to stay still anyway.
He approached her cautiously, so as not to startle her. "Hello," he called out, when he was close enough to speak without yelling.

Mihika looked absently at the grass and even gave a hint of a smile as she imagined the tiny blades were actually dancing with the wind. Really I think I'm losin it. She finally thought as she looked up and twisted around. Had she just heard someone calling out? Or was she really just in a daze still?
But her gaze quickly found the shape of another feline - a leopard. Really? Mihika's paid close attention. It'd be a while since she'd last seen one of her own kind, let alone a male. "Hello!" She called back before standing up in the grasses. "I hope my presence isn't interrupting something, is it?" Or was she accidentally on a pride's land? Hopefully not - she really didn't want trouble today.

Dysi smiled at her, when she returned his greeting, and he seemed to perk up a little. She wasn't hostile or aggressive, it seemed, though she was obviously young. Not that it was a bad thing, but it was odd that Dysi had not met a fellow wanderer, especially one as pretty as she was.
"No, no," Dysi assured her, tilting his head slightly as he approached, careful to keep his pace slow and steady, so as not to seem like he was stalking or readying himself to attack her. "Nothing like that, I was simply...avoiding this odd weather," he told her, and laughed lightly, as the wind chose that moment to whip up around them, cold even against fur. He peered at her, realising that perhaps it was he that was intruding. "Did I interrupt you, miss?" He asked, sounding hopeful that he hadn't, but worried that he might have.

Mihika blinked as she studied Dysi. Had she ever seen anything close to his pelt before? The leopardess flushed lightly and shook her head before making herself focus again. It was hard though - for some reason seeing her own species always made her guard drop. "Oh good. For a sec there I was worried 'bout that." She grinned sheepishly.
"You just had to remind me." Mihika teased as the wind made her shiver again. "This is crazy, how do others stand to stay up here during this time?" She muttered before blinking up in surprise at the leopard.
"Nope. You interrupted nothin'." Mihika smiled, "Except for being froze by this wind." She didn't mind his approach or conversation at all. Though Mihika did suddenly frown, "Please, don't call me miss. It's kinda weird." Her tail curled around her paws, "My name's Mihika."

Dysi looked apologetic that he'd reminded her of the cold wind, but it really was hard to miss. He preferred the warmth, to be honest, at least you could hide in the shade and sleep, with this weather, it was very hard to find a way to avoid the biting wind, unless you had a den which Dysi did not. "I don't know," he admitted, his own body shuddering with the cold, but only for a moment. "I am glad I don't live here permanently. It'll be good when I may walk into warmer lands." He peered at her, looking curious. "You do not live here, then, I would assume?"
Dysi chuckled, voice rumbling like a purr even though he wasn't purring. Why she thought being called 'miss' was weird, Dysi didn't know, he usually called women miss if he was lacking their name but it didn't matter. "Mihika," he repeated. "Your name is very pretty." He smiled. "My name is Dysini'mbus, but please, call me Dysi." His long name was a mouthful, and annoying to say.

"Oh?" Mihika's interest was caught again. Was he a rogue traveler like her then? Her tail flicked as she answered him honestly, "No, I don't live here- I just travel at random since I have no home." She looked sheepish as she admitted that fact. Was it weird to just follow ones' paws to where ever they led her?
Mihika's eyes widened in slight surprise though she was actually happy to hear the male's compliment. Certainly a lovely lioness had told her the same, but something about it coming from Dysi made things feel different. "Tha-thank you. Her mouth curved up into a small grin at his name. It was definitely a mouthful but after she repeated it she smiled. "Dysini'mbus. That's a fun name, but I can go with Dysi."
The breeze ruffled her fur again and the leopard glared up at the sky. "Now if only we could find some sort of shelter against this cold weather." She stated with a faint frown as her gaze was already skimming around the area.

Dysi smiled, pleased that she was so opened to conversation. He had almost been afraid that she wouldn't be happy to talk to him, and yet here she was, making pleasant conversation. "That sounds wonderful," he remarked lightly, and honestly. True, he adored his home, and wouldn't have traded his daughters for anything, but somedays he missed the endless travels of not having a home.
He laughed. "A fun name? I suppose so." He began to glance around, at her comment of the cold weather. He should find her something, he mused, to take her out of the cold wind. It wouldn't be fair to leave her on her own without a shelter when he could return to his own pride, to it's safety and warmth. "Would you allow me to find you something?" He asked quietly.

Mihika really felt at ease here talking to this other leopard. The rogue was truly surprised, yet happy at the fact. She silently laughed - she was fine with this as long as nothing was hiding in the bushes wanting to kill her. Shaking her head, she shoved the random thoughts to the back of her mind. "Re-really?" Mihika smiled, "Hmm...it really is. Nothing out there trying to control me, though sometimes it can get awfully lonely I guess. Though like right now I got to meet you."
Her grin returned at hearing him laugh before she blinked up at Dysi in surprise, "You want to, Dysi? I mean - sure!" The leopardess looked to the side sheepishly, "If it's no trouble, then go ahead."

Dysi nodded in agreement with her words. "I can understand the loneliness. When I wandered, it was saddening on some days, but others it was a pleasant loneliness, if that makes sense." He didn't mention that he was now settled, and that his traveling now was merely to pass the time. He didn't feel like he should mention that. He smiled at her, warmly and with delight. "I believe that it is the highlight of my day, meeting you." He was being honest, though that day hadn't started out too great, it had brightened considerably stumbling across this shy beauty. She wasn't a cheetah, but it was very nice meeting one of his own species for once.
At her response, he continue to smile and gave a rather dramatic bow. "It would be a pleasure, Mihika," he told her, unable to wipe the smile off his face, even as the wind whipped up and made him shiver. He scanned the nearby area, trying to spot something that would shelter them. In the distance, he could see a collection of rocks, and a fallen tree, likely taking a tumble from the rough wind earlier, that would make a fair den for her, and himself, if she allowed it. "Follow me," he encourage and led her towards the rocks and trees of the make-shift den. It was not the prettiest but it would get them out of the harsh wind.

"Ah." Mihika smiled warmly, "Surprisingly it does." The leopardess stood and was about to move before his other statement made her stumble. "Oh? Actually meeting you was...mine too." She softly admitted with a purr.
Watching Dysi scan the area made the leopardess smile. It was really odd finding someone that not only talked with her, but was also willing to freely help her. "Alright." Without hesitation Mihika followed Dysi towards the make shift den where they would find a place to keep warm on this cold windy day.
