She was confused, she was frustrated, and above all she was ready to kick a sizable chunk out of someone. She didn't know what to think really. Her experience with the kalona stallion had really shaken her and made her wonder if she should have wandered away from Req's herd. She knew that had she been with the other's the encounter never would have happened....but...she sighed to herself. She didn't know which she wanted, to never have laid eyes on the male, or to have had that tension that had come from their meeting.
She sighed again, maybe she could sort things out back in the familiar setting of the herd. Probably not, but she could hope.

Not a lot had really changed, the only thing that had gone back to 'normal' was that he started to hear the callings again. The herd was asleep as it was still early for them.
Along the back of the camp he could be seen coming in, his wings were folded back, head low and ears docked. He almost seemed to have had a limp to his walk. He walked slowly to the fire in the middle of the camp, already started by Chen, one of their day walking members.

Deneb was slipping in from another direction. Her attention was so focused inward she hardly even noticed that Req was slipping in as well.
She stopped at the fire and stared into its depth. Her ears flicking. It was then she caught the soft sounds of someone else moving around. She snapped her head up and stared at the big angeni. "Req..." she said softly.

It was if he was already aware that she was there. He settled easily next to the fire, nursing a bruised and bloodied lower wing and a gash in his shoulder. His voice was strong but low. 'Deneb.'
He wasnt cold or rebuking, however he seems firm, perhaps it was just his injuries that he started to tend to.

The mare's eyes flicked over him quickly and gasped. "What happened!?" she hurriedly moved over to him and looked over his injuries, her bad mood suddenly gone, replaced with concern for her friend. "Anything I can do for you?" she quickly shook her head. "Nevermind. I know what to do, you go get settled." she said as she quickly ducked off into the surrounding area to look for moss to put on his wounds.

He didnt even have a chance to respond. It seemed she was more concerned than he was. It wasnt the only time he had been injured like this. And it seemed it was happening more and more often with his jobs since their last encounter. Maybe he was too pre-occupied with other things or he was feeling braver. Instead of just comforting those who were dying, he was now trying to save a couple if he could, and that meant going up against an occasional opponent or two, or getting himself into situations that werent ideal.
He only sighed a bit as she hurried up and kept tending to himself, really there was nothing for her to be worried about.

Deneb was more than happy to have something else to think about. The fact that she was overreacting, had crossed her mind, but she'd pushed that thought aside and concentrated on her new task.
It didn't take her long to find a suitable moss and she plucked it up with her teeth then hurried back towards the camp. She made her way back over to Req and placed it against the open cut on his wing. "Just let that sit." she said.

He was already tending to his shoulder and leg so he only nodded as she tended to his wing. He spoke softly as he licked at his leg wound. 'Well what good timing you have. What brings you back here, Deneb?'
He was stand offish a bit, and with good reason he figured, tho he wasnt meaning to be, but his attitude was less than fawning over her.

She focused on what she was doing, but his question jarred her out of her thoughts. "Ah...well..." she shook her head. "Lets get you patched up first. That's more important." she said. The last thing she wanted to think about was Xelloss.
She stepped away for a moment and looked at her hooves. "I wanted to apologize for our last conversation. I don't think it went very well..." she said.

His attention still focused on his wounds, his voice seemingly uncaring about it. 'Oh... how so?' he asked.

"Ah, well...when you thanked me...I just really didn't think I deserved it, so it made me sort of nervous...It wasn't anything you said. I was really very flattered, just...didn't think I deserved it." she said glancing up at him. "I'm sorry if I offended you." she finished up moving close again to check on his wing. "What did you do to yourself anyway?" she asked. "Although, you don't have to tell me if you don't want too."

He finally responded rather bluntly, which was different for him, however he still felt a little hurt and that if she was just nervous it was rather silly to act in such a way.
'It just seemed like you were either afraid of me, or like I was asking you out or trying to woo you,' he snorted lightly. 'And for coming out with my feelings for the first time since I could remember, it felt like I shouldnt have.'
He fell quiet a bit. Feeling a little better having actually said his piece, but he only shifted a bit so she could check on his wing as he shrugged a bit, trying not to re-open the wound on his shoulder.
'I got the sharp end of an Kalona's tail while I was out on my job.'

Deneb winced and looked off to the side, feeling terrible now. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean upset you, and as for the rest of everything, I like you and I appreciate everything you've done for me, but I don't like you that way." she said knowing for a fact that the big angeni didn't inspire the same feelings in her as a certain other male did. Of course she was sure that that wasn't the romantic feelings that infused others. She groaned internally shoving away all the confused muddle of feelings.
She became more attentive as he mentioned running into a kalona. "I'm sorry..." she said. "They're really something aren't they?" she laughed wryly and then immediately shut up. "Sorry...just..." she shook her head. "Feeling a little overwhelmed." she managed to get out. "Not your fault though. Just some personal issues..."

He snerked a bit at that, quick to respond, his voice firm and honest. 'Good because I dont like you that way either.... and its fine. At least now the air is cleared...' tho it would take him some time to really feel that way, but her being around would help that. He just hated feeling hurt, he decided it was an emotion he didnt like at all.
He too went back to his wing before deciding there really wasnt much else he could do other than just let his wounds heal and he settled a bit. 'Yes... seems thats all Ive been dealing with... them and the Skinwalkers,' his ears flicked a bit to his other words as he looked back to her, his look finally softening a bit deciding if he was going to care and be her friend he couldnt be hard all the time. Even if he wanted to be. 'Oh? Anything you want to share?'

Deneb quickly shook her head. Although it was nice to be around the big angeni again, she wasn't quite ready to share her encounters with Xelloss yet. It was all still to fresh, to confusing, and far to personal. "Not right now. Everything's still a little too fresh to talk about..." she said. "Need some time to sort things out, get my head on straight." she finished letting out a breath.
She shifted a bit and looked around. "So...I guess I'll let you be for awhile. Let you rest and work on healing." she took a few steps back and moved to go and mingle with the rest of the herd, before looking back at him. "I'm glad we cleared things up." she said with a faint smile, then turning and finally leaving the stallion to his own thoughts.
