Mizukage's Tower: Kage's Office

The Mizukage's tower is definitely one of the bigger structure in Kirigakure. With the office of the Mizukage occupying most of the tower's top floor, it allows anyone standing in it to overlook the entire village. Surprisingly sturdy, the tower is known to have withstood several S-rank attacks before in the past. Along the walls of the tower are booby traps to prevent anyone from scaling the walls and making a surprise appearance at the window to the Mizukage's office, whether it's for friendly or hostile reasons. In other words, everyone who wishes to enter the office must enter by knocking on the single door leading to it. Should the Mizukage ever need to make a quick exit, it is possible to disable the booby traps from a hidden switch in the office so as to allow for the walls to be scaled. Furthermore, there are two hidden entrances/exits: a trapdoor that leads to the roof and a hidden passage that leads directly to the first floor of the tower.

Mizukage in Title|Special Jounin|Taijutsu Class|Genjuu Kinzoku Bloodline

The creature stooped on the Mizukage's desk, staring with its gleaming eye toward the bright outline of the wooden door from the darkness of the space within the room. Its heartbeat was swift, having just spent hours tracking its target and stopping to await the arrival of the man for whom it had been sent to find. The glass of one of the large the window panes behind the creature had been obliterated and lay in glittering fragments on the hardwood floor, illuminated by the pale moon shining down upon the floor and revealing a mist slowly creeping through the gaping wound left in that wall.

The creature's head shifted slightly as it heard the opening of the front doors several floors down, and the light in its eyes from the door in front of it gleamed with anticipation. The door below stayed open for some time, and the predator shifted its feet ever so slightly to relieve the anxiety that the target might sense something is wrong. However, to its delight the man downstairs closed the door and his footsteps could be heard causing the sturdy floor to groan beneath its mighty burden. Slowly, step by step, the predator's ears could track the man making his way up the stairs toward the office. His footsteps became louder and louder until finally the hunter could see a shadow beginning to stretch into the room from underneath the door.

Tense and ready to spring as soon as possible, the creature made its final preparations by putting its body silently into a position that would allow it to leap and glide straight to the man. The shadow paused for a moment, and then the door silently glided open to reveal a figure. Its outline was traced by the hallway light, revealing wide pants that concealed the legs but a tank-top on on the torso that revealed the tense muscles of the figure. Large bulges could be seen on the forearms as well, and a gigantic hat rested on the figure's head. Cast in the shadow of the man, the creature remained concealed to the man and, as the figure reached for the light-switch, the creature launched itself from its hiding place toward the ninja...

Deil was exhausted, having made the lonely trip from Leaf to Sand in half a day. The coronation ceremony had ended before noon, but the solemn boatride had taken until almost midnight to arrive at the Kiri docks. I feel so bad for leaving her, but I had to. I had to so I can build Kirigakure back up and create another ally for Leaf and Sand. We need more allies right now, and this is the only place with enough people to start over again. Deil, for all his size, felt small as he had arrived at the gate to meet the cold glares of the guards. They checked his paperwork and had a sensor check him to make sure he was who he said he was, and then they grudgingly let him go.

Mist had, for most of history, disliked Leaf and Sand. The fact that a Sand ninja had been sent to rule over the village while it still had a perfectly capable Sannin to take the spot of Mizukage had ruffled a lot of feathers within the village. Many in the village had disproved Zane's choice to hand leadership to this relatively inexperienced shinobi (compared to the normal amount of experience kage have), and Deil could see the resentment in many faces as he had made his way to his headquarters, although it provided small comfort that others had given him tiny smiles or shallow bows. The village, having recently been attacked by bijuu, was naturally distrustful toward him: a foreigner with almost no knowledge of their customs or ideals, who had been sent by a more fortunate village to them to rule over the destabilized land.

Deil had arrived at the building to find that, upon opening the door, only the basic lights needed to guide him to his office had been lit as a the bare minimum of courtesy allowed to a high ranking official. However, he didn't immediately move upstairs. His mind wandered back to Misuki, the love of his life that he had left behind in order to help make the world a safer place. He missed her so much already: her sweet smell, her beautiful smokey gray eyes that were so easy to get lost in, and her warm touch that vibrated softly in time with the heartbeat timed by her little beat player. He wanted so much in that moment to just run back to her, tell her it would all be alright, and that he should never have accepted the job. But his resolve was too great to give in, and he knew deep in his aching heart that the best way he could keep her safe would be to bring forth the great potential of Kirigakure once again.

"All the shinobi of the great villages are like drops of water. We must come together to form a great wave and crush the Akatsuki."

The saying isn't his nindo, but its something he told himself constantly to remind him of his duty and what he was fighting for: the reformation of the villages and a united force that could hunt down and destroy the Akatsuki terrorist organization.

So, he willed his longings into the corner of his mind, but didn't completely abolish them because he still needed Misuki in his thoughts to press forward with this last step. He turned toward the illuminated staircase and slowly, but with great dignity, made his way up the stairs. His weights caused the old wooden floors to give mighty groans through the whole process, but he made his way up the stairs to the room that awaited him. He finally arrived at the door, paused for a slow but silent breath, and opened the door to find a dark room before him, his muscles tense with anticipation. Shattered glass littered the floor before him, and a rock wrapped in paper lay a short distance from his feet. He turned the light on, and a creature sprang at him from the mahogany desk before him. His muscles jerked in response and he hit went straight from a full stand to a crouch in blinding speed.

The creature turned out to be Misuki's hawk, who she had sent ahead of him so he could use it to tell her he had arrived safely. It hovered above him, a look of pride on its features as it glided down to his arm and nibbled at his ear a little. His heart was thudding rapidly, but it soon started to slow and he turned his attention back toward the rock. He picked it up, and peeled the paper off it so he could read its contents:

"GET OUT OF HERE, SAND SCUM!" The writing was scrawled upon the paper as if a young academy student had written it, so Deil deduced that the wrecked window was a result of some hate crime by a young child. To think that the resentment starts so young... Deil's mood became a little depressed for a few moments, but he soon shrugged it off. He would be dealing with people too soon to have time to dwell over this matter, but he would soon address it. He took a clipboard off the desk and, with a few large strokes close to the glass, was able to blow it over into the corner of the room. He would have to worry about cleaning it up later.

Deil moved swiftly over to his desk and prepared his quill, ink, and a small scroll from his holster. He opened it up, but decided he would need to put more thought into this special message, so he set it aside and searched the drawers for a larger scroll. He found one in one of the drawers, and prepped his desk for arrivals. The village had been advised to send available ninja to the Mizukage's tower when he arrived, but Deil would have to stay up all night and through the day anyway since time was of the essence. He gave the hawk a couple strokes and scribbled down on the pad that he would need to feed the bird before sending it off with his message to his love. Deil then took off the kage hat, set it aside, and waited for ninja to come with his arms resting on the table with a crinkling of determination across his brow. Here we go!

Matsuya slowly continued to walk towards the tower, eventually coming to the main doors of the tower complex. He pushed one open and slipped inside, taking care to make sure it closed almost silently. He was sure to be a suprise, but he didn't want to wake anyone who decided it was a good idea to stay this late to catch up on paperwork. Matsuya took his hands out of his pockets and let them fall to his side, adjusting his collar in the same motion. Time to get to know this guy. Matsuya started to ease his way up the stairs of the tower, making his way towards the Mizukage's office. When he finally reached the door he could immediatly feel the presence of the man's chakra inside, another of his unseen abilities. Matsuya made two simple knocks on the door and then closed his eyes. He knew that a normal genin wasn't to be expected this late, but he wasn't normal. Not the way he saw it. Not the way a lot of other people saw it either. He only hoped that the new Mizukage could see through Matsuya's strangness.

Deil listened closely and could hear someone walking the path from the last flight of stairs to his office. He waited patiently and unmoved, but the hawk shifted uneasily at the noise of the knocking. "Come on in," he said and waited to see who the first person of the night to see him would be. The hawk jumped off Deil's shoulder and fluttered over to the cloak rack in the corner of the room to use it as a perch. It began to preen its feathers, familiar with the fact that once people start coming in, they keep coming for a long time.

Matsuya slowly opened the door, entering the office. He quickly scanned the room and shut the door behind him. The only things out of place were the broken window and the hawk sitting on the cloak rack. Matsuya looked at the man sitting behind the desk and bowed his head. "Um, excuse me for my lateness, Mizukage-sama. I couldn't sleep and I recieved the notice earlier that you were arriving and wanted to meet the active shinobi." Matsuya raised his head a little and looked at the man again. "My name is Matsuya Komihachi, genin of Kirigakure. I'm pleased to meet you, Mizukage-sama." Matsuya kept his gaze on the man, trying to be as polite as he knew how.

Deil returned the gesture with a nod, but waved off the apology. "You are not at fault. I am simply early today. It's nice to meet you as well. It's nice to know someone in the village has a positive view on me taking this position." He scratched the back of his head and gave a small nervous laugh. He soon regained his composure though. "So, what can I do for you this evening Komihachi? I literally just got in, so I haven't had a lot of time to familiarize myself with the locations of scrolls and whatnot, but I can look around if that's what you're here for."

Kiyoko walked with no haste into the tower. She shouldn't be out this late but she was rather curious. She had heard news of A new Kage, and a SAND ninja no less. Not that she had anything against specific sand ninja, it was more like their government. Who knew though, maybe this sand Ninja as kage would help to bring less stress between the two nations. She walked with little noise on her feet. Being of the assassin class she had been working on not sounding so loud when she walked, although she was new at is she was doing relatively well.

She stopped in front of the office, and could feel that there were people there. Two of them at least. She paused and took a deep breath. She needed to be careful here. This all could be a trick for all she knew. The sand's plan of getting into the mist. She knocked lightly on the door frame and stepping inside. She bowed to him although she kept her eyes on him the whole time. She knew better than to even think about tying to force her way into his head, as tempting as the thought was. So she simple spoke to him mentally.

My name is Kiyoko, a pleasure to meet you She was rather curious as how he would react to her. She glanced around the room curious at to why there was shattered glass on the floor, and a hawk resting on a coat rack. But she said nothing about it..not that she could talk aloud anyway.

Matsuya stood straight and glanced at the pile of broken glass. "Oh, no. Not tonight Mizukage-sama. I know I need to train, but it's nearly impossible to read anything at night around here. I just dropped in to meet you." Matsuya smiled and ran his right hand through the tangle of silver hair on his head. He looked the Mizukage over, noting that the man was well muscled on nearly every part of his body. He also noted that the man was not much older than he himself was. Matsuya sighed and looked out the window for a second. "To be honest, I just wanted someone to talk to. My apartment isn't very good for that. Very small." Matsuya made a mock frown and then smiled again. "And if I may be so bold to ask, what happened to your window there? I know a lot of people around here don't exactly 'agree' with your postition at the moment, but I didn't think any of them would take it that far."

“I’ll stop the whole world from turning into a monster and eating us alive…”

xxxxSynn tilted her head far back, her blonde hair gently tickling her neck and shoulders as she looked up at the expanse of the Mizukage's tower, a single light shining from one window at the top. She raised her eyebrows as she gazed up, clutching a notice in her gloved hand that had been taped to her door as a reminder of the new Mizukage's arrival. It wasn't that the tower was huge, even though it was, that made her raise her eyebrows. No. What piqued Synn's curiosity was the fact that the window had a gaping, jagged hole in it, clearly having been smashed by someone who was not pleased that a Suna nin was taking over as Mizukage, though what made him want to take the position was beyond her. Shadows danced in the light that shone through the window as she continued to look, absolutely silent, at the bright spot, which meant one of two things: the Mizukage was doing aerobics and moving around a lot in his office, or there were other people there with him. Since the first seemed pretty unlikely, or at least, she thought it was unlikely, she pushed at the heavy doors and entered the Tower with quiet steps.
xxxxThis will be interesting, Synn's mouth shut with an audible snapping noise as the Rokubi stirred sleepily in her head, greeted by a barrage of combined swearwords and commands from the blonde that hosted the spirit of the Six-Tails. Now, now. Is that any way to treat your roommate? The beast laughed in her head, amused by her hostile thoughts as she crossed the empty lobby and began to climb the stairs to where the office was, and always had been, located. In reality, Synn was used to the other presence in her head, taking comfort in the fact that she usually was not alone in her thoughts. Keep your mouth shut and your eyes open. I want my wits about me when I meet him. No one is to be trusted, you know that. Synn's thoughts, directed at the chuckling tenor voice in her head, were grim and scathing as she made quick work of the winding staircase.
xxxxHer legs wobbled slightly as she stepped onto the landing, muscles not used to an ascension at the speed she had pushed herself to. She paused outside of the door to the Mizukage's office to catch her breath before knocking twice, ignoring Raijuu's speculation as to what kind of person the Mizukage was as he continued to cause her uneasy thoughts.

Deil, thinking that tonight would be a long and uneventful night, was surprised to find that he already had three ninja here to see him. "Well, I guess me sitting down is just more of a formality anyway. I can get more done if we're all in a group." Deil rose from his seat and walked over to the small group. He held out his right hand for all of them to shake, and said. "I'm Deil Grist, your new Mizukage. It's a pleasure to meet you all." He had a small, sincere smile upon his face. He normally wouldn't be comfortable in a tight group of people, but he was glad that so many had shown up so quickly since his arrival. At least they cared who their kage was.

“I’ll stop the whole world from turning into a monster and eating us alive…”

xxxxSynn entered the office with long, confident strides after waiting several seconds and not receiving instructions to enter or to leave. Opening the door carefully, in an effort to be sure that she didn't hit anyone with it, she stepped inside to see an enormous form that resembled a man, flanked by two others who looked about her age. She shut the door gently, a small clicking noise of the bolt of the door sliding into the striker plate, as she stepped towards the group, the floorboards groaning as the man approached the three visitors. She smirked in her head as she looked at the other girl, who wasn't saying a single word, and then to the boy, whose silver hair seemed to stick up in every direction. Her gloved hand reached up to push several locks of blonde hair away from her startlingly emerald green eyes as she approached the group, every muscle in her body tensed.
xxxx"Lord Mizukage-dono," Her words were shockingly soft, the sound of her throaty, but very clear, soprano voice euphonious and velveteen as she spoke, boldly approaching and folding her hands in front of her before bowing to the new Kage. Her movements were aggressive, like those of a predator, and clearly showed that she was fierce and proud of herself. Her muscles rippled fluidly under her skin as she straightened, throwing a quick glance at the shattered glass on the floor before allowing her eyes to wander to the window. The glass had been shattered by what seemed to be a rock with a piece of paper attached to it, and she could only guess what derogatory things had been written on it. The window itself was a jagged, gaping hole, looking like the mouth of a monster as she allowed herself several milliseconds of staring time before tearing her gaze away. It was like a horrible accident: she didn't want to look, but she couldn't look away.
xxxx"I realize it's late, so I won't take up much of your time. My name is Synn Takanashi, daughter of ANBU Kurai Takanashi and Enix Takanashi, both deceased Mist shinobi. Anyways, I'm a Genin, a taijutsu specialist, to be exact, and the Raijuu host." Her voice was soft, but that didn't lessen the cockiness and arrogance clearly displayed by her words. Her admittance to being the Six-Tails Jinchuuriki was straightforward and simple, flagrantly disregarding the fact that there were two other Genin in the room. Not that she cared anyway. The way she looked at it was that the other Mist nin were going to find out eventually, so it was best to get it said and out of the way than hide and dwell on it. She was proud of her strength and proud of her status as Jinchuuriki.

Kiyoko looked at the new girl with irritation. Was she stupid, or just that arrogant? Yes this man was their new Kage, but she still had reasons not to trust him. He was a sand, and kage or not, He was going to have to prove she could trust him. She looked away from the girl ignoring her for now. She turned to deil and took his hand shaking it. She bowed to him keeping her eyes locked on him. She was still rather tempted to try to force her way into his head, but it would be rather foolish of her to say the least. She she merely spoke to him, mentally.

My name is kiyoko. It's a pleasure to meet you. She tried to speak softly so as not to allow her voice in his head to be too much of a surprise.

No, not this. Not again. NEVER again! Deil thought to himself as the host introduced herself, but he willed his face to remain neutral. He was not about to let history repeat itself so easily. He gave her a curt nod, and looked to the frail girl beside the host. He shook her hand, and felt the familiar pressure in his mind of a Mayu tapping into his mind and heard Kiyoko's telepathic voice. Hmm, so you're like those two from Leaf, are you? Well, let me tell you this: you'll probably know what I'm about to do right before I do it. I want you to remain silent until it's all over. It's for the good of everyone. Smiling slightly, he turned back to Synn and blocked his thoughts off from the Mayu. "Well, since you're a host, I have something for you." He walked over to his new desk, re-opened the drawer, and pulled out a small scroll. From end to end, it was only about three feet long when unrolled, and it opened up from top to bottom. He opened it some, nodded as if to confirm it was the right one, and closed it again. "Here, open this up real quick and read it to me as fast as you can."

Kiyoko was rather confused by the mans response to Synn. He seemed considerably upset about it. And she didn't understand what he meant about "not again" but she didn't ask. He turned to her and she was again surprised that he had met some of her kin. In the leaf? She sighed. He asked her to be silent, and she easily kept the smile off of her face. Being a sensor, she knew what he was planning. She agreed with it and so she agreed with staying silent.

I understand. She responded and stepped aside looking at the other two. She wondered what they thought of her, as she waited casually for things to unfold. She didn't think either of them knew she couldn't speak aloud. The boy might, but she didn't think the girl did. No matter..they would find out eventually. Unless she decided to keep it a secret..for now. She was curious though as to exactly who the boy was. She knew enough about the girl because she so obviously told so much about herself. The boy on the other hand she wasn't really familiar with him.

She gazed at him a moment not wanting to read his thoughts because she didn't want to be rude. So she eventually looked away at the hawk and the broken glass. Looks like she wasn't the only one who was a bit iffy about the new Kage. She sighed.

Matsuya shook Deil's hand when he offered it and then took a quick step back towards the broken window. Curiosity was getting the best of him. He'd noticed the note and rock and was curious as to just how mean the person who threw the rock could be. But that could wait. Matsuya eyed both of the girls who had entered the room. He knew from the minute she walked into the tower, he'd felt the blonde. Her chakra signiture was off the charts before she even announced that she was a host. The other girl was decidedly normal, other than her lack of speach. Matsuya gave her a small grin and a curt nod as he returned his attention to Deil and his scroll. His interest was peaked. And I thought tonight was going to be boring. First, I meet the Mizukage and then two girls walk in. I think I might still be dreaming. Matsuya's small grin stayed on his face as he watched.
