A tan figure moved across the grounds. The steps were calm and almost precise - light colored paws stepping on lush green moss and grasses.
Saccharose loved this area. The smell of water and moss - a moist, damp air that could only come from this area. It smelled so sweet and welcoming. Despite the welcome atmosphere, she faultered in her step, looking out at the water that eventually led into the vast ocean.
She had often wondered of that ocean. Stories had been told of a vast lake that smelled of salt and moisture. The thought of it was welcoming and fearful.
She could smell some of the salt from her spot, but not enough overpower her senses. Besides, it was nice here, and she felt she would never leave the confines of this pride.

Brown eyes had recently clouded with pain and guilt. Mufasa had watched the tan female, but he knew the small female would not recognize him. That last he had seen her, she had been to young to recall him.
He remembered whispering softly to the remaining cubs. The ones that would love with their true-mother and wouldn't become slaves to the cult. 'Don't hate father - he had no choice,' he had whispered. It was, in fact, his father's fault though. Everyone made mistakes.
When he had seen his soul-sister's children, he had known it was the same little girl he had left behind to become a brutal killer under the cult.

Rose watched the water of the small lakes lap at the mossy shore. The great willow thrived on the lake's water here, and the willow was their center. It provided so much for them.
She sighed, smiling up at the leaves that swirled around her with the wind. She sucked in a deep breath, smelling the sweet air about her.
Dark eyes sparkled in happiness.

Mufasa inched closer to the tan female with slow steps. He dreaded telling her of his dark secrets. Would this stir trouble in the pride? He couldn't See things like this. He couldn't See a lot of things.
He could only hope this went well.
"Good Day, Saccharose," he said with a small, forced smile. He would be able to do this - he would just have to work up the nerves. The emotion was strange to him, but it was familiar in an old way.

Rose looked up at the Sortier with a small smile. "Good day, Mufasa," she greeted ion return. She shifted a little, sitting in the spot she occupied and guestured for the male to do the same.
"Can I help you with something?" She questioned curiously. "Or are you here for a social call," She shifted in her spit, light tipped tail flicking towards the water.

Fasa gave a small dip of his head. "A Social Call, I think," he stated, pushing the nerves away as best as he could. He paced a bit, declining the offer to sit.
"I think..." he took a sharp breath, pacing again - pausing. "Do you remember, when you were a cub, barely able to open your eyes?" The white male asked ominously.
With a sigh, he finally sat, white tail wrapping around his body tightly in an attempt to shield him from the world.

The dark-eyes female gave a tilt of her head. What odd questions to ask. She shook her head with a frown, clearing those thoughts and trying to remember.
"A few things... Whispers and scents, like Father's and a scent I can't place, and Mother." she informed, hoping to placate the agitated mood of the Sortier.
"Why, is something the matter?"

Mufasa paused, giving a grim smile. He lowed his head to the ground, leaving his back arched awkwardly, but hiding his profile from the terror of the outside world. She remembered him, his whispers. "Do you remember what the whispers were?" He asked, face muffled by his own belly.
"It's... nothing. I Saw something, and I wished to confirm it," he lied. Lying was a bad habit - it felt hot against his tongue like a forbidden fire, and he never wanted to feel that again.
But he shook his head an held his tongue. He would tell her of the lie in a moment. But first, his nerve was almost reigned in, and he sought to pull it in all the way before it all disappeared.

Rose frowned. "No, I'm afraid I don't." The female rocked on her paws and clucked her tongue, trying to recall the words of the whispers. After a moment, she gave it up as futile, worrying about the distressed male.
"You Saw something?" she asked, moving a bit forward in concern. "Are you sure everything is alright?"

Fasa sighed. "Your father - Uovu, right? And your mother was Toro...ka?" he questioned softly. "I knew them, both. Your father more then your mother," he informed her, softly. The words spilled before he even knew what was happening.
He knew the gods could not take back the words he spewed - he knew he would now have to tell her the while story.
Mufasa gave a sigh. It would be a long day.

Saccha was shaken, eyes wide. "You... knew my father?" she snarled a bit, voice bitter. Her body visably shook and she glared at him. "How did you know that man?" she asked, snarling. The anger laced her very body.
Abruptly, the female stood. "He was a b*****d! He left my mother and subjected my siblings to a harsh life! Do you know how that made me feel!" She snarled at the male, pacing.
And today was supposed to be a good day. A good day, indeed!

Mufasa kept his head down, letting the female's anger at his father from through him to his father, wherever the man was now. "I looked after them best I could, I'm sorry. Uovu was my father - he adopted me at a young age," he informed her, lightly.
He knew his family was ******** up. He was the favored son, but held the blood of neither Uovu nor his mate... yet the children born of his father's blood were treated like they weren't even worth the scat of a dead animal.
Mufasa shivered. "I'm sorry," he whispered again.

The small lioness raged at the male, snarling and yelling until she finally heard the broken words of apology spill from the white male's maw. Her body sagged in defeat and weariness.
"I'm sorry I yelled, Mufasa," she mumbled with a hoarse voice. She never yelled in her life - but the anger just bubbled out of her, and she could see the broken pain in the male's eyes.
"uovu was something to you, wasn't he?" She asked suddenly, throat constricted slightly. The male she new as a detached father was some one to this male...
It almost sickened her, but everything had two sides.

He gave a small smile. "He was the only one who ever cared about me..." He whispered. "He took me in when I was alone in the rain and gave me a home - taught me how to care for myself." Mufasa paused.
"He was controlled by the woman in the cult. He was mated to Mother before he met yours. He was punished for his actions. Your siblings were part of the price," he informed solemnly. "I know he isn't perfect, but he was all I never knew."
The large male shook his head. "I should go..." He moved to leave, frown deep on his maw.

Saccha sighed, shoulders sagging further. "Thank you," she whispered. "I didn't know the whole story, but now I do... so thank you," Saccha sighed, sitting down. She had a lot to think about.
She gave a nod at his want for departure. "I will seek you out, later. Br-brother," she called after him as he walked from her, a small smile upon her maw.
