The GTB Headquarters is stationed on private land that could very well be called its own city due to how large it is. It has businesses, shops, living residences, and even its own theme park, mostly for entertainment during the visits by people coming in for the yearly tournament. This year, however, the GTB is going to use its size to its advantage, and host a large public event that will draw in crowds from all interests and all ages. Known as the GTB Expo 2010, this first ever convention will allow vendors from different areas of the industry to come and showcase their wares. Whether it be weapons, armors, magical devices, or alien technology, it has a little something for everyone. Both fighters and visitors can come and check out the new advances in the world, and may even purchase something if something catches their fancy.

OOC Rules

If you're participating in the tournament, you may come to this expo and purchase something, but you cannot use it in a sanctioned fight due to it not being part of your official profile entry. The only exception is when the judges given you permission to bring in new equipment due to a special event. You are also allowed to host your own vendor, displaying anything that you want, as long as it isn't explicit or breaks any Gaia ToS.

The Vernal's booth was audacious and large, taking up the space of four of them. It also managed to be raised a few inches off the ground, and the floor, of course, was black sand - a lot of it. The area itself was divided into about four sections.

The first of the four was being attended to by a sparklingly pretty, petite pale gold-haired girl with tri-colored eyes, as well as her bigger and blue-haired sister. There seemed to be a lot of official GTB merchandise, as well as a whole host of products that weren't - cosmetics, jewelry (apparently, magic jewelry, according to the signs), clothes, and other such stuff. It seemed aimed more at women than men.

Across from it was, more or less, the exact opposite. With assorted machetes and other bladed weapons on display next to well-polished handguns and rifles, assorted crates of things best guessed at, wands, potions, and for some reason, hydroponics supplies, the front two-thirds looked like a head shop had ran into a military surplus store and a magic shop, and the resulting child looked like, well, the front of their booth.

The last third, however, had a big stage, curtains, speakers, lights, and all that. Nothing was there yet aside from a podium and such, but one could easily tell that something was going to be sold here, and it was gonna be big.

There was a fairly large amount of space being taken up by a booth for a company called the Black Nine Corporation, with the logo of a black nine ball. Aside from their choice of decor, the booth itself was a popular stop for people who wanted more kick in their weaponry, the items showcased were particularly high-tech in both mechanical, and magical aspects.

Powerful stuff. A quartet of soldiers, armed and armored to the teeth in sleek ebony power armor and automatic weapons provided security, while others in more plain outfits and uniforms happily talked about and demostrated their innovations. There were few mundane things here, many of the objects hawked were high-quality weapons and defensive implements.

This looks like a great place to sell stuff. I should try selling Noire and Sieg bobblehead toys... I bet I could make enough to pay for that new diving board for the pool...

Larger than the Vernal booths put together...

...deadlier than all of the Black Nine on red alert

...grapplier than Sieg himself...

GRAPPLE CO.

It was a huge expanse of pits and rings, display cases and refrigerated units. It was the Grapple booth, Gaia's BEST fruit drink for fighters and lovers alike. To emphasize they catered to a wide variety of people, selling anything from Grapple drinks to Grapple Gear.

Signs, banners, shirts, sweatpants, IN-YOUR-FACE advertising. Everything was telling the public to put their thirst into a submission hold. Giant cut-outs of the Grapple poster boy pointed the way, even though it was impossible to miss.

Staff hustled about with headpieces, preparing. In the back workers were still laying carpet, putting up curtains, and putting together the stage. Sound equipment and video equipment were being secured and tested. The wrestling pits and rings were being finalized. The showers in the back for the Grapple Girls were being made up to the rigorous specifications demanded of them.

The CEO was absent, but his assistant was there busily checking things off of a list.

While parties were great places to find desperate souls bound for trouble, Rosalyn had not bothered with attending the opening ceremonies for the tournament. Instead she was focused on the completion of her own booth for the event's large expo. Don't be mistaken. finding somebody and giving them a night they'd forever regret was thrilling, but Rosalyn was thinking more in the long-term possibilities. It was a great opportunity for her to directly bring grief to a mass of individuals. It wasn't quite the same of ruining the reputation of powerful and good-hearted men, domino like consequences of their actions, while often quite amusing, did not feel very fulfilling. But meddling into the lives of hundreds to thousands of individuals, the potential was actually overwhelming. The media hype made this the ideal event to achieve mischief of that scope.

Unlike many of the big suppliers and other businesses, Rosalyn did not require much space at all for her small booth. In fact, she only required the bare minimum of floor space. But location was a bit more important to her. She needed a space where there would be a lot of walking traffic. Also, she needed a space that could accommodate a long single file line. She wasn't planning on giving presentations or performances, her business was very personal and was often limited to an individual level. It required adequate spacing so that a person may feel comfortable with sharing their secrets with out worry of someone nearby listening in.

That need was the basis for the construction of the booth. It was simple, made from foreign woods and formed something like a shack. More accurately, it formed something of a hut. It was still exotic to most of those who would be in attendance, or so she thought, and therefore it should attract their curiosity. Another element designed to specifically draw their attention to this hut was the mysterious nature of the decoration. The entrance was not just open, but it was concealed by a long drape of dark beads. That made if difficult to see what was inside of it. And if one tried to crawl on the floor to peer underneath the beads, they would just find darkness.

Those walking past Rosalyn's small hut might also be interested in what was inside because of the elements that were created from inside that managed to leak out. For instance, if one were to get close enough they would be able to hear a soft pounding. It was an audio track of tribal drums, played for a very specific reason. Not only were these types of drums exotic to most people ears, but they also carried a large piece of mysticism with them. People affiliated their primitive nature with magic, and people were often suckers to magic. And then there was the perfume. While perfume shops often overwhelmed people, especially the males who walked by, this was very gentle. The scent of a variety of spices surrounded the entrance. Who wouldn't help but to wonder what was inside after getting a whiff of this mixture?

For those who could not resist but to peek past the dark beads, they might be pulled in by the even stranger decorating inside of the hut. It was as described earlier quite dark, with very soft lights of greens, pinks, and purples directed towards the back of the hut. Everything inside took on whatever colors of light they were hit by. They illuminated several shelves stocked with various elixers and charms. And in the light the individual should be able to the smoke from candles, their melting providing the scent that traveled just outside. Most importantly though, they illuminated the creative mind behind all of this. A couch that resembled something of a large bean bag chair was where the succubus lied in wait. The ball formed to the shape of her body in that seductive pose. She would face the door, her eyes aimed to meet those of whoever dared to enter, beckoning them to proceed forward. And positioned just before her was another, smaller bag of a chair just at the edge of the lights. Everything outside of the narrow path of the light was dark, further adding to the mystic theme.

So after one might sit down, they still might be wondering what was the purpose behind this place. Just what was this strange woman selling? There were several functions to this hut. It served as an advice booth. And for most of the advice that people could ask for, she had prepared some kind of drink or charm that would solve their problems. Of course these items had no real magic to them, besides the few that might actually be some form of narcotic. She was after all looking to crush dreams and ruin lives, and sometimes water with dye as a placebo was not enough. The other purpose was a kissing booth. Though the closed off nature of the hut, the darkness, the provocative clothing and poses, and the exotic atmosphere would suggest there was a lot more to that. It was an easy and practical way to lure bait for her feeding.

And who would have thought she could develop such an elaborate scheme that required a good amount of patience?

Outside on both sides of the entrance were two neon signs of a violet shade. Though it was currently off, the one on the right would glow with "Currently Seeing Patient". The other though was lit brightly so all those that walked by could see and not be mistaken,

The doctor is in.

Just across from Rosalyn - disconnected from KB or GRAPPLE CO in any way - was an equally creepy looking shop. A single person sat inside the shop, which was a small enclosed building with a single door. This person was in direct competition with the succubus.

A lazy, interesting tune played from the shop and beckoned people to enter. Inside, the shop-keeper waited patiently.

The showers in the back for the Grapple Girls were being made up to the rigorous specifications demanded of them.

The CEO was absent, but his assistant was there busily checking things off of a list.

A single woman stood in front of the booth of Grapple. A yellow ponytail fell down her right shoulder. She wore a white top with no sleeves, but had an extension up the neck. A stripe of red ran down the left side of the upper body, a yellow "G" insignia on the front, the "Glorious" logo. White leggings that stopped an inch from the knees were fit tight to the form of well muscled legs, with boots on the feet similar to ones found on wrestlers. The blue eyes of this woman stared ahead at the set up. When the people setting up saw who it was, they stopped what they were doing, realizing who it was.

It was Glorious Athena, the woman was in sports magazines and on television everywhere that told of her popularity in the fighting world. There was little place that she was not known, and today, she had come on her own to ask for a certain favor from the rising corporation known as Grapple. She was going to ask for them to sponsor her. And in turn, she will promote their products throughout her upcoming battles in the fighting league.

"Heeeey! I can see you're already advertising, that's great!"

A cheery voice accosted Athena, the voice belonging to some intern-looking dude. He waved off any offense he might have caused remarking about her shirt. Pointing to the G, he chuckled.

"Kidding of course-" A momentary pause to listen to the voice in his ear, then, "- sorry, we're really busy. I'm Brian. I oversee the general setup while Mr. Baker is at the GTB opening ceremony... speaking of which, why aren't you there? You're one of the biggest names in the business!"

Glorious Athena. His hands gestured in the air, almost as if light were flashing her name. Then he was right back to work, checking things off and alternating between listening to her and the voices in his ear. It wasn't a personal thing, but they were very, very busy.

"I'm not participating in this tournament. Though it was mainly because I was overseas fighting at the European International Championships. By the time I found out about this tournament, it was too late. Anyway, since I am here, I am glad I ran into this booth. I need to speak to your representative. I have business to propose in terms of sponsorship."

Her tone was direct, but mellow. She held no exalted volume or distilled voice when she spoke. She was strictly business.

'Agüentar' abandoned the Ball early; having little interest in the mingling of what he now concluded was a bunch of idiots with fancy tails or metal arms. As he entered the Expo he soon found his own face plastered all over the Expo, from cardboard cut outs to simple advertisements for GRAPPLE co.

Why was Agüentar so sponsored? He was a small human with no powers who was willing to grapple his way to victory, at any cost. As he wondered the Expo mostly humans would approach him, asking for pictures or autographs. It was funny really, as the few times Agüentar has fought were not televised; he was receiving hype without actually doing anything.

He would be lying if he said it didn't feel good though; and eventually he fled to the bathroom to change to his trademark outfit. He exited the bathroom wearing a dark blue Gi, with a Blue Belt hanging from his hips. On the back of the Gi was 'GRAPPLE co' sponsor symbols, and on the right arm was the Gaian Flag, the Irish Flag and the Japanese Flag.

On the left arm was the American Flag, the Brazilian Flag, and the Danish Flag. He wore no shoes and the Gi was slightly open to reveal his defined but hardly 'massive' muscles; the build of a Judoka through and through. But James wasn't a sport Judoka, no. He was a Kosen Judoka, one made for Combat; and he would show the power of Judo to all in this tournament.

Eventually he made it to the GRAPPLE Co. Booth; and standing at it was none other then 'Glorious' Athena. A woman he knew from magazines and such. She was a grappler, but a grappler with powers and of the more Wrestling base.

East versus West, if you will. She was the prideful wrestler, and Agüentar was the Judoka. Stepping into the booth he took his place at center, not saying a word to the 'Glorious' woman before him.

Brian's face paled somewhat. Representative was a tentative term for the company. While it was all fine and dandy on the outside, underneath the key decisions were made by a single 'man'. Yes, there were investors and things like that, but their involvement was forcibly kept to a manageable margin.

Then there was the sudden inexplicable rash of mysterious deaths not long ago, leaving the administration of GRAPPLE Co. questioning themselves. It was risky business through and through.

"Mr. Baker should be coming here to finalize affairs after the opening ceremony. He's really the only one authorized to make any decisions like that." Sweating now, probably due to the lights and constant work, Brian leaned forwards and cupped his headset to mute it. "They're always watching. He'll know you were here." He whispered, then let go of the device and raised his voice. "I'll page him though. After all, you're famous!"

---

Meanwhile, the Grapple poster-boy would be tended do as he desired. The company had a disposition towards the young man that indicated they would pamper him, but not spoil him. Laziness and greed would not be tolerated, as they wanted him to be fit both mentally and physically. That being said, they still tried to take his edge off whenever he let them.

I mean, some of Gaia's most beautiful women worked for Grapple.

"So, you say he's at the ball, correct?"

If she had to, she would go and try to get the main man's attention herself. She didn't feel like getting anymore attention right now from those people, but it was a sacrifice she needed to make. When one was at the top, it made it harder to have any decent private publicity.

"What is his full name and what does he look like?"

Athena's eyes gave a glance over to the man who walked into view and sat down. His face was the one posted over the advertisements of the product. As much as she respected another fighter, she unfortunately was going to knock him off his throne once she gets this deal set up. She was going to show him that it takes a real grappler to promote Grapple.

Athena received a bit of a scowl, and was rewarded with a photograph of KB. It was captioned in a space at the bottom 'Kyle Baker - CEO GRAPPLE CO.' The picture featured the vampire in a business suit, with an unconcerned grin. It was motivating, or reassuring, or something. Humble.

Not that KB wasn't already infamous, but his misadventures didn't seem to concern the corporate world. Grapple was selling, and that's all anyone cared about. It didn't matter to them that their owner and operating was a mass-murderer, because he paid them generously and endorsed a variety of good causes.

Athena took the picture and stared at it.

"I hope you don't mind me holding on to this. Thank you."

She then proceeded toward the exit, giving one last glance to the so-called Judoka before she left.
