Ment = Red
Prometheus = Tan

It was not the ocean nor the sound of the gulls that awoke the golden manned lion, but the sound of another’s footsteps gently gliding over the sand, calling him out of his dreams. He was hoping this wasn’t another sibling looking to bash him for something stupid, or another male ready to give him lip about hitting on their girlfriend. He had more than enough of that and the next person to poke at him about things of that sort would get some claws to the face.

Rolling over to face away from the sound Prometheus lifted his paw and made a waving motion, only more of a go away and the hello. Couldn’t he just lay in the sand for a bit and enjoy everything as it comes to him. Not get yelled at. As the sound got louder he sighed loudly, grumbled as well to show the displeasure of having company.

“Why won’t you guys leave me alone for a little bit?!”

"Because leaving you alone is just preposterous," Ment said, stopping mid-step and starring down at the bronze marked lion before him. He had only been going for a walk on his new home's lands when he discovered the young lion, and had decided he wanted to take a peek at him, if only if to appease his own nosieness.

"It seems as if you were expecting someone else," Ment commented, batting some sand around, with a smirk on his face.

He didn’t wait long at all to roll over and see who was speaking to him, as it didn’t seem he was any bit displeased with his presence. Sneering up at the red and white male he snorted. “Well when you have some dude always rushing you for talking to their lady you would get a little grumpy too wouldn’t ya? Even if this land is full of hippies…. Not all hippy lions are chill.”

Frowning a little more at the smirking lion he too batted some sand at the other lion. He didn’t exactly enjoy the taste of dirt after all. Though… he did seem kinda nice. “Who are you anyway? A new dude?”

Hippy lions. This couldn't have amused Ment anymore than it was now. He couldn't help himself as he let out a laugh at the younger lion's words. Apparently Ment had stumbled upon a casanova, something he could identify with one way or another. He grinned, "You gotta be careful of the women. They're more dangerous than the men."

"Yep. This land is now the land I'm going to be calling home. My name's Peremende'Ment, though Ment is fine and probably easier to remember. Who're you, and is everyone really a hippy around here?"

Prometheus rolled his eyes at the laugh. Was his comment really that funny? Eyeing Ment he shook his head. "I know, but that doesn't stop me." Winking up at the other lion. "Though they are a lot sweeter and smell a hell of a lot better than those boys." Shifting his position he raised one brow then looked away.

Listening to Ment speak about choosing the land he held in the question that burned in his brain. Why? Why in the world would he want to live in a pride like this? Wasn't it... boring? Well maybe not... but... "Ment, why this place? I mean sure you can wander but isn't there more, something a little more interesting. Like that... that warrior pride. Wouldn't those girls be pretty, or even better the Amazon pride. Allll ladies... pick and choose." Shutting his mouth he thought about everything he said. Okay maybe he did like his lands just not the girls in it... so?

"Promo by the way. That is my name and I am also not lying when I say that we are all damn hippies, or most anyway. Of course we also have a thirst for knowledge and a curse of wanderlust too but still. Hippies mostly."Grinning at Ment he nodded once. How clever he was.

Ment gave another chuckle at Promo's response. He was an interesting character, much like himself, though Ment never really thought deeply about himself much. Ment wondered about this for a moment. Promo had a good point to his question, why this pride?

"Because it's tiring to be alone," Ment said, making himself comfortable, "I've been alone since I was an adolescent. I fought by myself, hunted by myself, and slept by myself. Never safe anywhere. I've been attacked by hyenas, lions, leopards, baboons, and rhinos. I've managed to survive, but it's left a bitter taste in my mouth. Even if I live my life for nothing but the good times, they're dangerous, and I'm tired of wondering whether or not I'm gonna die today."

Ment smiled a bit at Promo, "I just wanna hang with some laid back people, and do laid back things, and feel safe for once. This place looked like the place I could do just that."

Promo eased up a bit as Ment made himself comfortable next to him. Maybe he would have stories to tell him about the world outside. Tell him why he should stick around the pride or why not to. Whatever the case may be, he was excited just to hear about it and as soon as he began he sat silent, listening to every word the white and red lion had to say.

With his mind filling up with images of hippo attacks and other near death events a smile flicked on. That is what he would like to see, days that were not so laid back, things that he would have to risk his neck to do. Yes… the rogue lands were a fine place to adventure. But of course there was always another side to the coin with adventure and this side seemed a little risky and boring as well.

“Well you certainly helped me make my decision on what I want to do in the pride. Seeing as I will stick around now that you opened my eyes with that information. I will definitely be a seeker of knowledge… just…. Ya’know come home for the night. Rogue lands sound dangerous after all.”

Flicking his tail lightly in the sand Promo stood straight up, perked and ready to hear what else this Ment fellow had to say. And as he spoke Promo’s face slowly fell a bit. So he wanted to loaf around was it? Well he couldn’t just do that in the pride, he needed to contribute somehow!

“Whoa wait…. Ya can’t just chill here. What will you do to help the pride out… Yaknow.. not that I care but I do.”

"I'm a crafter," Ment said, with a smile. It was kinda funny how the kid seemed to feel like his reasons were him being lazy. Of course Ment would have to contribute, he had some responsibilities and those always needed taken care of.

"I make things for whoever asks for them," He said, "I'm not a bum or anything. I know my responsibilities."

“Oh. Okay then. Sounds like a good thing. We need more crafters in this pride as most of them wander around ‘seeking’ instead of actually doing.” Promo smirked at him before moving a little closer. “Sorry if I offended you. Yaknow…. Looking after the pride. Need to do that.”

Looking at the ground Promo chewed at his cheek before peeking over at Ment. “Ummm…” Flicking his tail his brows furrowed.

Should he ask him or shouldn’t he. After a couple seconds promo looked back at Ment. “Would you make me a couple things to wear and give to some girls? I want them to think I am cool. And.. well I think that might be a nice way to flatter them and stuff. Don’t you?”

This kid was too much and he liked that. Caring about his pride while trying to pull off not caring. Being so bold as to ask for favors from people he just met. This kid was something else, and it tickled Ment immensely.

"It's ok. I can understand," Ment grinned, " If I do this for you, you gotta do something for me. Put in a good word about me, hmnn? Maybe their mom's will hear about it or something."

It was funny. Two casanova's plotting together to woo the female species, one gift and cheesey pick-up line at a time.

Promo’s eyes glittered at Ment as he agreed. Had he just met someone with a personality sort of like his own? It seemed to be that way, and boy oh boy was he ever happy to have the lion in the pride now. Finally someone he could plot with and joke to. Someone who would get him. Yes yes yes!

“You can bet your tail I will. More ladies for the both of us.” Smirking at Ment he sighed happily, enjoying the company of someone so close in personality. “I like you. Glad you decided to join this pride… even if it is full of hippies.”

Ment laughed, "I'm glad I decided to join this pride too, even if it's full of hippies."

Ment knew this was going to be an interesting turn in his life. He made a friend already, and one who seemed much like himself. Liking the good things in life, as well as the ladies. A bro, so to speak.

"So, these pieces you want for your lady friends. What do you want them to look like?"

Prometheus looked to the sky for a moment then back at Ment. He had no idea what he would want. Something the girls would like that was for sure. Smirking he nodded to himself before saying calmly.

"Whatever it is that you think the girls would like." Winking at Ment he then picked himself up, turning to leave. "I better get going though. Mother is more than likely looking for me."
