In the woods there is a small clearing filled to the brim with foreign plants; all growing wonderfully despite the fact they aren't native to this environment. It is immediately clear to whomever enters here that the herla that live here take pride in what they do.
Ivy layed out in the sun; wondering what these new powers she had obtained would do for her plants; and if they would pass on to any future children she might have. Speaking of which; she perked her ears and looked upwards; wondering where her own had run off to. She should have probably been more concerned about that one... but so long as her kids never came back bloody; bruised; or broken she wouldn't bother them about it.
The only one of her children she DID bother about their day was Flora. She'd been watching on and off; she'd have a few of her people watching as well. It seemed that more and more boys would talk to her now. And she was happy to see that none of them seemed smart enough yet to try and sleep with her. Smart enough or stupid enough. Depending on who it was.
She humphed and stood up; shaking out her body; her vines stretching towards the light as if stretching as she yawned. She looked around for Morrow. She needed to talk to him about maybe giving something to Flora to make sure she doesn't get pregnant anytime soon.

Flora was currently with one of those boys that liked her; not that she really knew how much he liked her. To her; all of her freinds liked her; just some to a bit more of an extreme degree than others. And only one of them claimed to love her. Not that it mattered she geussed~ not like she was thinking about it right now or something. No; right now she was worrying her little heart out about what her mother would do when she brought one of her guy friends to her.
She wondered what she would do... would she try and scare Adonis away? All Adonis wanted to do was go to the mountains with her; and show her around. That was cool right? Her mother shouldn't be too terribly upset about that right?
She worried her lower lip nervously at the thought of it all. She knew she was going to want to have someone chaperone them... she really wanted it to be one of her brothers cause they were SO cool and she was SO proud of them! And they never played with her anymore either... and she missed them... and why was she thinking about this? She didn't need to think about this now. It wasn't good to think about sad things.
She smiled widely and turned her eyes to Adonis. "It's gonna be so cool going to the mountains with you!!!"

To say Adonis was worried was an understatement. In fact, he was pretty sure he was a small hop away from being incontinent and soiling himself in a manner that would have him literally DIE from embarrassment. "Y-yeah...c-cool..." he murmured, head held low as he cautiously followed behind her. This was one of those defining moments in his life...or so he felt. Family was of ultimate importance on his personal value scale and Flora was his childhood love. In his mind, if he wanted his feelings returned he would have to make a good impression on her family. If her family hated him, there was no hope for his feelings...again, so he felt.
And Adonis might have been a gentlehart, and while that kept his tongue from talking about others in a scandalous fashion, that didn't keep his ears from hearing rumors. He knew about Ivy, what she looked like (very pretty, like Flora), about what others thought of her (she seemed like a fun hind), about her passion for plants (Adonis agreed with that!), and then...about how scary she was when it came to her children. And he certainly remembered Morrow. That look...it went right into his chest and ripped out his spine. Adonis was brave...but Morrow was one of those harts that ate bravery for breakfast...along with the rest of the creature it was attached to. He couldn't, and wouldn't blame protective parents, heavens no, but he could, and was, piss scared of them. Sure it was a smart and respectful thing to ask permission from Flora's parents to take her up into the mountains and to invite them with so he could meet and get to know them better...but for some reason he couldn't see any of that now and all his mind was asking him was "YOU IDIOT. WHY DID YOU DO THIS?"

Flora stopped after a few more minutes and turned to Adonis; a serious look on her face. "Ok Adonis." She started trotting up to him. "Listen ok; remember all that stuff I said about not caring what people think about you? That's only good to talk about around me and my brothers... and maybe Daddy. But never my mom!" she started to warn him. "The moment you see her; you have to start sucking up! And tell her how pretty she is! She really likes that! If she thinks good about you; then she'll let us go off an play; and she won't tell Hellion to stomp your face in." She told him totally straight faced. She wasn't joking about it after all... Even if she was a very young adult; she knew that's what her mom had asked Hellion to do.
"Cause you know..." She started off nervously now; pawing at the ground. "I think you're awesome and all... but... mom says it's only natural for Hispanics to be very protective of their daughters. And something about chopping off what makes a male a male... but I don't really get that part..." She added on shrugging as if it didn't matter.
Flora leaned into him and gave him a nuzzle to help chill him out. "Just you know... Don't talk about cutting down tall grasses to make homes for new herla... or say something like plants are stupid and pointless... and you should be ok to go." She giggled and bounced around him excitedly. "This is going to be so much fun Adonis!" She told him stopping on his opposite sid and wiggling her tail and butt happily becuase this was gonna be so much fun! She let out a bit of a squeal and pressed into Adonis' side. "I can't believe this is going to be the first time I ever leave the meadows!" She laughed; suddenly wondering why that was... Hm.

Morrow was strolling through his garden, nudging at a vine there to make sure it was growing correctly, inspecting a wilting seedling there. He'd salvaged half of a plastic jug, a long-abandoned Guardian relic, as a sort of primitive watering can, along with a rusted trowel with a good thick handle that he could grasp in his mouth. He dipped the cup into a small puddle of water that had collected from the last rain, then brought it over to the languishing seedling. It was one he'd brought up from the Delta, used to much wetter soils. Perhaps it wouldn't survive here after all. But it was certainly worth a try.
His ears perked as the sound of a distant, familiar voice drifted to him. Flora? He saw his only daughter rarely... The boys less. Robin had always been solitary, and Lawley was - bitter. Morrow didn't know what he had said to offend the green-coated buck, but Lawley simply refused to speak to his father, for all intents and purposes self-exiled from his family. But Flora was still his girl. He looked up with an expression that was almost hopeful, trotting to the direction that he'd heard the voice coming from.
