Today wasn't a very busy day. Yesterday, wasn't a very busy day either. The day before that AND that day before that wasn't a very busy day. Antio wasn't liking it...NOT at all. There had been rumors going around that more and more airships were disappearing and rumors, Antio felt, were VERY bad for business. His staff were becoming a bit antsy from the lack of business and some of the girls were down right frighten by the rumors. "What if it happends to us?" "Only if you believe in the rumors." "I hear it's pirates!" OH! I don't want to be attacked by pirates!" "Well who the hell would want too!?" "Oh stop yelling at her." "I'll yell if I want too!" "OH YEAH!?" Right...enough of this. "If you have time to talk...you have time to work." Antio raised a brow at his crew. A few of his girls blushed. If Antio was speaking, they were most likely doing something wrong. "I know you're nervous. Don't worry about it." The girls listen to him speak. Surprise he was actually speaking this much anyway. He gave them a rare smile. "Go find something to do to keep you busy. Wash, clean, tidy up. Think of some new ways to promote our menu. Now go." The girls smiled at him and moved on.
Antio sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. He wasn't sure if he could take any more days like this. Seriously. He had mouths to feed and bills to pay and days that weren't busy were not good for business. Not to mention he was beginning to grow rather tired of hearing his crew bicker among themselves. Normally they got along fine, however these slow days where starting to get on everyone's nerves and the slightest tick made everyone jump. He REALLY needed to do something about this. Maybe he should head towards Barton and stay grounded for a bit. He frown. "Not very impressive for a flying restaurant to be on the ground." He gave a great sigh and turned to his storage room. He'd do another count on their inventory. "Keep myself busy...things are just slow right now." He frown. "Too slow..."

It was a beautiful tree, she thought. Lucy Ashworth winced as her straw hat slid askew, the result of a nice breeze and her tilted posture (the better to admire the fine casimir specimen powering the flying restaurant). She quickly tugged the hat into its proper position before the heat of the sun, to which she was unfortunately susceptible, could overwhelm her. It was really a pity and an irony that a plant mage like herself was so estranged from photosynthesis, like some sort of cave-dwelling fungus.
Lucy sighed a little, but it was an old problem, and one likely to wilt under the happy anticipation of sugary foods. She had a long-established fondness for sweets and had been delighted to come across this establishment. The satisfied young woman waved a final time to the lovely tree and made her way toward the restaurant's entrance.

"I do not! Take that back Rebecca!! I do not smell like old cheese!!" "Your perfume smells! And NOT good!" "You suck!" "You're UGLY!" "I HATE YOU!!" "You girls have someone..." The fighting stopped at once and the group of pretty girls looked towards the young woman. Indeed as one of the dishwashers had pointed out there was indeed someone there. "OH MY GOOOOSH!!" The group cheered and all at once they surrounded the woman. "HI!" "WELCOME!" "WHAT CAN WE GET YOU?!" "WELCOME TO OUR PLACE!" "WOULD YOU LIKE A MENU?!" "HAVE A SEAT!" They all began talking at once to her. She had been the only costumer they had seen all week and well...it showed.

"Uh...hello," Lucy said to the gaggle of girls surrounding her, feeling a little overwhelmed. She took a seat with relief, fanning her face with her hat. "I'd like some ice water and something sugary...what do you recommend?" She leaned back and plucked an errant leaf out of her hair.

A million voices seemed to speak at once. "Oh sure! I'll get you water!" "No I'll get it." "No I WILL." "Let us bring you a menu!" "We have tons of sweets to fill ya up!" "I love the triple berry pie myself!" "No no a cake! "The cupcakes are the best!" "Here's a menu you!" "I got one too!" ANd so on and so on. All at once it seemed as if five menus were given to her and at least four glasses of water. Two waitresses began push each other out of the way to give her another menu.
"That doesn't look too good...." One of the dishwashers spoke as he watched the gaggle of girls. The other Gofor boy sighed. "They're gonna scare her off before she even orders any thing..." He spoked in a bored tone and then looked at the other boy. The other boy sighed and turn. "I'll go get him..."

"Thanks," Lucy smiled to the group, and picked up a glass at random. She wasn't surprised that customers had been scarce, what with the rumors about airships disappearing out of the skies. She had decided to take them with a grain of salt until she was presented with some sort of proof. In any case, she didn't think air pirates would be particularly interested in her shipments of fertilizer and plants. She shrugged to herself and picked up the menu, feeling inclined to order a cupcake.

The girl who gave the glass of water she had picked grinned like a fool while the other girls began to pout. When they noticed her looking at the menu they surrounded her even closer. Holding their pads ready to take her order, they all began to talk at once, once more. "Would you like some help?" "Oh let me tell you about our special!" "You would just love our cheese soup!" "I'm telling you the cupcakes are wonderful!!" And so on and so on. "GIRLS." A voice suddenly joined the group. IT was a deep, smooth voice. It was loud to hear but low and calm as it spoke over them. The girls at once stiffen and then took a step away from the woman with guilty looks on their faces. When the parted, they revealed the owner of the voice. He was a tall, very tall orc. HIs dark purple eyes looked at one girl then again. "That's enough. I'll take it from here. Go wait until the order is ready." He spoke firmly but not harsh. The girls nodded. "Yes sir." And they moved away. THe orc looked down at the human woman before him and moved closer to her. He loomed over her in an indimating way, but all he did was pull out a pad of paper and touched the tip of his pen to his tongue as he began to write. "Have you gotten a chance to really look at that?" He pointed to the menu in her hand. "And they are right...the cupcakes are wonderful." He raised a lavender brow at her.

"Then I will certainly try one," Lucy answered. She had to remove her hat in order to see the face of the very tall orc before her, and she tried not to look too surprised--it wouldn't do to be impolite. "Do you get ingredients from that lovely casimir tree?" She smiled a little, thinking of the tree's confectionery appearance.

He gave a simple nod of his head and began to write down that she wanted a cupcake. All the while his face not changing emotion. "Would you like anything else with that?" He took her appearance in. She had leaves in her hair. "We have a nice fruit salad as well." It was at this point he over heard some of his waitresses whispering to themselves. "You know she's by herself." "That's kind of bold for up here, you know?" "Well she doesn't believe in the rumors that's clear." "Yeah but still, air pirates are still everywhere!" Antio rolled his eyes and gave a great sigh. If the rumors didn't run of costumers, his waiting staff would.

"That's all, thank you," the auburn-haired woman answered, assuming that he wasn't one for idle conversation. The waitresses, on the other hand, clearly were. She could hear them speculating, and covered a laugh with one hand. "I guess it is foolhardy to be out here alone, even without proof of piracy..." she murmured to herself. She had brambles and wisteria guarding her ship, but there wasn't much her plant magic could do against, say, fire. If someone lit the ship on fire, there would be no profit to be made from it, though. She supposed a ransom attempt was possible--she was, after all, a rich girl (apparently a foolhardy rich girl); but what were the chances that pirates would know her family background? Lucy sighed, and decided she was thinking too much.

Antio nodded one more and then began to gather all the menus including the one she had. "Taking a risk is part of life. If we don't take them we never get anything done." He said without looking at her and then turned. He eyed his girls and gave them their menus to put away. "A cupcake...." he looked back at the woman sitting and suddenly he was hit with an idea. A far off look came to his eye and then a spark. He walked quickly into the building and then up onto the upper deck as he walked closer to his large tree. THe girls below watched him, wondering just what he was doing. He looked the tree over, and piked three leaves and a handful of berries of all shapes and sizes. He nodded and then headed back down below. One girl looked at another. "What do you think that was all about?" They only shrugged. It was at this point a younger waitress moved over to the woman. "Can...can I ask you something?" She gave a shy smile. "What are you doing up here by yourself? I mean! I'm just wondering. Don't the rumors...well...scare you?" At this the other waitresses gathered around to listen.

"Hmm..." Lucy watched the restaurant owner harvest from the casimir tree with interest. She edged away from a bar of sunlight that had fallen across the table, not noticing that the waitresses had gathered around until one of the spoke. "Oh...I'm delivering plants to some of the more isolated ports. Mostly orchids, this time; they seem to be very popular this year. I raise them aboard my airship--most of the deck space is taken up by a greenhouse...not that it's a very large vessel to begin with." She realized she was rambling and hastily got back to the point. "Anyway, I've heard the rumors, but I haven't seen any proof that they're true."

"Well I don't think ANYONE sees proof until it's too late!" One girl stated matter of factly. "Stop trying to scare everyone stupid." One of the girls told her and the others rolled their eyes as a small fight started up once more. The younger waitress looked back the woman. "You raise trees?" She looked interested. "How does having a flying green house work up here anyway?"

Lucy shrugged, hoping she wouldn't see firsthand evidence of the rumors. That would be too ironic. A leaf fluttered from her hair as she turned toward the curious waitress. "The trees I raise are mostly from warmer climates, like lemon and orange trees, or incense trees, like myrrh. The flying greenhouse is pretty similar to a normal one, just on an airship, but I have to use special reinforced glass so the panes aren't shattered by debris. I have a cistern belowdecks for the irrigation. It can be replenished with rainwater if necessary, though I try not to let it come to that." She hesitated, but decided not to mention her botanical magery. "What about you? What is it like to work at a flying restaurant?"

The girl giggled a little. "It's so much fun!! You get to meet so many nice people and you really get to see the world! And Mr. Antio is SO nice to everyone!" "He's super strick." "But but very fair!" Other girls had joined in. "And we get to try everything he makes!" 'I'm going to be fat soon if I don't watch what I eat!" "You already ARE fat." More fighting took place as the other girls sighed once more. "I wonder if Mr. Antio would buy one of your trees. He's always going on about how much he wants fresh food and having it right on hand would be nice." "Yeah and who's gonna take care of it? ME!" One girl rolled her eyes. The others giggled a little. "Gee you know you';re the first ship we've seen in a week! I can't help but think that maybe the rumors ARE true...you know." One girl added. "I had heard the Mr. Antio was thinking about grounding us for a while." There was a small gasp at this. The girl only shrugged. "Well it was only talk."
