Hello,
My name is James. Yes I am actually a boy, but I like the female clothes and items better than the male choices so I made my avatar female. Also I had a plan when I first created this account to make a Sailor Senshi character. That however failed miserably when I started school again. I haven't found the time, but just the other day I found my old Sailor Moon movies and remembered my original idea. That is why I am here.
A little about me I suppose is I like music. I love to read and draw. Right now I am trying to read the Sailor Moon Manga and other books. Its not going very far but I'm working on it. If you want to know anything else about me please feel free to message me or what not.
Thanks Bye!

One thing I'd suggest, just for fun, is to compare and contrast the differing continuities of the manga, anime, and musicals.

That sounds like fun. I have watched the entire anime, and compared the original episodes with the series that aired in America. Now I just need to finish the manga and compare.

Welcome to the guild, and I have to say, how odd, my sister was talking about Harry Potter Land earlier.

Thank you all for the wonderful welcomes. Yes I must admit I have a huge Harry Potter fan, even thought of writing a Harry Potter Sailor Moon Fanfic once but...well it didn't work out so well.

Hello James, nice to meet you. I have a friend and a brother named James, too.
I can understand your desire to make a senshi, though I'd honestly be too embarrassed to do it myself. I just can't pull off the female personality well enough to bother trying, so I stick with my otaku knight Tay (who oddly enough has been called a female on gaia towns a few times; the name Tay is sorta gender neutral).
On making a HP/SM ff: All you really need when writing crossover fanfics is a plot device that connects them, like putting them in the same school, having a common enemy, etc. So don't give up if it's a concept you like!

Thank you very much Tay. I have toyed with the possibilities but haven't spent a lot of time on it. I think if I were to sit down and work on a plot it would work. Maybe with some free time this summer I will be able to get something started. As for my senshi, her name is Aurora Mitchells. I haven't thought of a lot else but I'm working on it.

Crossovers are difficult monsters. The key thing with them is to ensure that no one's going to horribly overshadow the other, and work your darndest to avoid Sue-type characters and/or Dues Ex Machina plot (twists or otherwise). Take in a few crossover comics; some are good, some non-sensical, and some downright terrible.

I agree, Rocky, crossovers can be difficult.
But realize that it's your story in the end; if you really wanted to, you could just Mary-Sue the whole thing! Write what you enjoy. I suppose if you want other people to read it, you can tone down or balance powers, but that isn't as important as liking what you are writing.
Regarding HP/SM, I don't think either group would overshadow the other. Each has plenty of weaknesses to exploit, and the powers of each are comparable. One thing I would note is that senshi in this case should purify monsters/enemies rather than kill them; this will balance it out with wizarding powers that break spells and curses, and avoid spells that kill.
Nonsense is okay too, if it's done right.
