I'm feeling lazy, so some of you may find these paragraphs eerily familiar. I love copy & paste!

This is a fairly random question, but inspired by the fact that I just found an old video of mine with Inspector Gadget cartoons (and a couple of Sam n Max, yay!). The credits always say soundtrack available on Saban records, but I've never seen anything other than the single (by the Kartoon Krew) ever turn up on eBay.

I was wondering if anyone knew whether there was a release of the cartoon soundtrack anywhere. I particularly love the music accompanying Penny saving the day

I know the movie soundtrack is available, mostly from Germany for some reason. Disney never released it in the UK.

Forgive my answering my own (old) topic, but I needed to share. For I was practically dancing round my room this evening. After months of watching eBay.fr like a hawk and cursing as they either didn't ship outside France or didn't take Paypal, I have found what I'm looking for!

Yes, I have found some of the original score from Inspector Gadget! Why I didn't think of doing a search in French on yahoo.fr before now I'll never know. However, I found firstly Penny's (in French, Sophie) theme with words and then the instrumental, along with Brain's (Fino) theme. Then I found the instrumental, along with snippets from episodes of Gadget in Japan, in the Inca ruins (Bird of day and bird of night will bow to the true city of gold!), in the desert and in the Wild West.

*dances off whistling happily*

DW *resisting the urge to change her signature to the words to La Chanson de Sophie*

Well, I figured since I'd been quadruple posting in another thread, I would compound my sin with some thread necromancy too smile

I'm still searching eBay France for the LP of the French soundtrack - my main problems being that a) it doesn't come up very often; b) when it does the sellers often don't take Paypal & c) I'm at a disadvantage when I have to add another €15-odd to the price in order to get it safely across the Channel.

However, I was going "YES!" at work yesterday (which raised a couple of eyebrows), when I found the *English* LP. Now here's hoping I'm in with a chance on this one... Especially since someone sniped me and got the Bonkers stuffed toy I was watching.

EDIT: didn't get it. Next time, Gadget. Next time!

You know that there're R1 DVDs available, right?

Or're you holding out for subbed versions (or just shopping for the originals)?

I have the R2 DVDs already, which account for about 4/5 of the R1 boxset. I think that's out in R2 as well, but I've not yet got to the stage of buying it.

It's the soundtrack that's calling for my money at the moment...

If you do find it, please let me know where! mrgreen

Wouldn't mind picking up a copy myself.

Weirdly enough, my regular fun jazz-fusion band has a bit of a tradition where one of our tracks is always completely improvised live, and I always manage to sneak in an 80's cartoon theme or two. Three weeks ago, it was indeed Inspector Gadget! The gig before last was Thundercats, and the last one was a slight deviation in that it was the theme to the A-Team. mrgreen

Any requests for tonight's gig? I have six hours to learn whatever it is! domokun

Sounds as though you need to listen to the Hill Valley Preservation Society - they manage assorted theme tunes well enough.

I'll send you a link. smile

Please do! smile

Oh, and I seem to recall you mentioning on Sunday some other things of the linky kind you were going to send me, but I can't begin to think what they were for! pirate

It seems that they've split and the site is down - I'll forward you some MP3s later.
