I want to beat my friends speedy infernape without the use of my speedy arcus with splash plate. I need something fast and with a type that can beat it. My emplorian isn't fast enough and close combat will Ko it at times. Any ideas?

you know there´s a lot of pokémons that would love to surprise an infernape which will be willing to stay and hit them?...
Tauros learns earthquake, your average monkey is very frail... and it will definetly try to stay and OHKO it with close combat...

Sharpedo. Very High attack, and can learn Aqua Jet. That should blow the monkey out of the water. Or more like, into it.

@Kunx: I'd hate to disagree friend. While Starmie is a sound choice for such a situation, any pokemon that access to the move aqua jet and has decent stats in attack can usually take care of infernape. On the top of that Tentacruel laughs most special attacks given by infernape.
@:Razthedemon: Fly could work given the poke has either enough speed to out run infernape, enough defense to take it's given damage, as well pack on a nice attack stat to 1HKO it. Though, there are far better flying moves out there than fly.
@Gamefreak: I concur. He and Azelf as well are nice to choices to countering infernape.

Too bad Fake Out Infernape would heavily damper that idea of yours. Besides, it's fairly wasteful to use Ninjask as anything else except as a setup + passer.

And you know first-hand how effective that can be to an unprepared opponent. And I know first-hand how ineffective it can be on a prepared opponent.

I don't remember exactly what your referring to, but I definitely have had my share of the tactic (both used by and against me) to know how something so little can cause so much damage to a team.

I was referring to way back at the Nintendo Academy when you challenged my Bug Gym. My Ninjask Passed 3 Sword Dances and 4 Speed Boosts to my Scizor, who swept your team. Then we had a rematch and your Scarfed Moltres Flamethrowered my team to oblivion.
