Since the last time a banner competition happened it was chatted into oblivion (*holds hand up* Guilty) there should be a forum that you can talk about the banner competition, see any shiny new rules etc without interupting the main thread. ^^

v. true ^^ I like it. but it uses fanart, yes? Did you draw it? or get the artists permission to use it?

I found the pictures from photobuckets. Guess its stolen Japanese fan art.
The places I found didn't give credit, but I would like to give some to the artists, even if I don't know who they are.

Fair enough. It's just that by using fanart that you haven't drawn and not crediting the artist (Even though not knowing the artsist is not your fault) you are in essence stealing someones hard work and time. Also, if you win the competition I can't put your banner in my sig because I would be thrown out of a few of the guilds I'm in for using stolen Japanese fanart. And I'd agree with being thrown out. It's one of the issues that I hate bringing up because so many people do it but it's true. Fanart is all yay but the artists deserve some credit. Just like I'd be severely pissed off if someone took one of my fanfics and used it without my permission and without putting my name to it.

Just like I'd be severely pissed off if someone took one of my fanfics and used it without my permission and without putting my name to it. true just 3 days ago at school i let my friend have a drawing I made. and the next day i saw him trying to draw it. maybe that's not copying or stealing, but it seemed to me that he was stealing the way i drew my character and trying to make it his own. No creativity at all.

lol I teach myself how to draw by looking off other peoples drawings- I've worked out my own way of drawing stuff by copying others- I need more practice though. I'm not an artist by anyones standards- ah well
