Tas had overdone it. Set grumbled as he carried her back towards the center of the pride, tail thrashing behind him. She'd gone after something bigger than what she could handle on her own, even with the size she'd inherited from her mother. She'd been lucky Set had gone looking for her after his lessons!

"You can be such an idiot, Tas! You realize it's going to take a long time for the leg to heal, right?" The crimson adolescent on his back shifted a bit and smiled somewhat.

"Sorry, Set...I didn't know it was that fast. Or that it could bite like that." The male grumbled.

"You're lucky we have Mfuma." And since Tas' mother wasn't an option (Tas wouldn't have survived the embarrassment) and Kaimel was off Karma-knows-where...he knew he'd need to find the other Mfuma in the pride. Farlest HAD to be around the main area SOMEWHERE.

And so she was. Currently, she was coming back from a gathering expedition, herbs and other useful bits of things were now tucked away in a small pouch at the dark female's neck. She was headed towards her own cave just now, where she planned to sort them. She'd quickly discovered which ones were more useful than others, and which ones could be combined to numb pain and minmize risk of infection...she'd had to learn most of this on her own, but she found it a fascinating study.

However, there were a couple of herbs that needed to be dried...and so, she went to lay them atop the most convenient rock, gingerly sorting them even as they were drying out. Ah! And they smelled nice too. Setting herself down, she half-curled around the warm rock in order to keep an eye on them.

Set perked a bit when he spotted black fur...and then bits of green in the black. Perfect! It had to be Farlest. He adjusted his path towards her and stopped not far off.

"Mfuma Farlest. Tarajali Taswira got herself injured." His words were brief. He'd never been one to speak gently with anyone but Tas. The crimson lioness shifted a bit again.

"Sorry. I uh...I got bitten by a gnu. I think she got a ligament in my back right leg."

Far frowned slightly, leaning over and eyeing the injured female. "Well let me see..." She coaxed gently, wincing at the damage. That had to have hurt...Farlest had had herself torn up a time or five, but it was never any better to see someone in pain. Ah goodness, it was a good thing she had the herbs for this...and quite likely she should use a splint...poor lass would have to keep off of that leg for a while.

Set placed Tas down gently, then crimson lioness moving so Far could take a look at the injured leg. The gnu had definitely done a number on it.

"I was paying more attention to her horns than her mouth. I didn't realize gnu could bite like that." Set stayed quiet now, sitting near Tas and nudging her when her voice grew too quiet. Once couldn't afford to have a healer not hearing them.

"They do...most all prey animals have some kind of mechanism for self-defense...or three or four in the case of creatures such as the gnu." Far smiled faintly, "Now...hold on for a moment." Moving away, she disappeared for several seconds, running fast as she might, and then the healer reappeared with a damp bundle of herbs and leather, droplets of water still trailing from it. Dipping her head, the female began to clean the wound...ah, that gnu had really been savage.

Tas nodded, smiling slightly. "I know that now." She wondered vaguely if the wound would scar while healing. Not that it would matter much, so long as it healed right. She winced as Farlest cleaned the wound, Set placing a paw on hers to comfort. It would pass. The pain would pass, and the wound would be all clean, and the Mfuma would make it heal right.

Cautious still, she then set the cleaning implements aside and began to use, in it's place, a salve...meant to numb the pain and speed healing. Herbs really were wondrous, and Farlest could recall many times in her life when she could have used them...if only she'd been able to train as a healer from the start, which had been her fondest wish. Ah well, better late than never, really. "You're going to have to keep off of it for a little while, just to ensure that it doesn't wrench and heal improperly...just take it slowly, mmm?" Green eyes flicked over to the lioness's male companion, knowing that he likely would hover protectively over Tas to ensure said healing. It was probably a good thing too. Younglings were so enthusiastic these days...it almost made Farlest miss her adolescence. Almost.

Tas nodded, glad when the pain numbed. She relaxed visibly once that process started. "I'll remember to take it easy." Even if she didn't remember to, Set or her mother would. Moto definitely wouldn't miss the fact her daughter had gone and gotten herself hurt. "Thank you, Mfuma Farlest." Set nodded in thanks as well, glad it had been something easily treated. Tas meant the world to him. He'd scold her again on taking on things beyond her skills later.

Gently pressing a damp, flexible leaf to the worst of that wound and binding it there, she looked upon her work with satisfaction. It was a terrible shame that she couldn't simply...heal things upon a whim, even expending her own energy to mend the damage. "You are most welcome....and if it gives you any trouble at all, I don't want you to hesitate to come back to me." Sitting back, she surveyed her handiwork....she really had become a far better healer since she'd first arrived in this place.

Tas smiled slightly, nodding. "I will do so if it gives me trouble." She got up with Set's help, making sure to keep her weight off the injured leg. The tan lion supported his crimson friend's weight rather well, and nodded to Farlest.

"I'm sure her wound will heal well." And started for where Tas tended to sleep, keeping his pace slow for her.

"As am I..." She replied, her confidence in the two youngsters, as well as in her own craft, terribly obvious. Watching them as they moved off, she then began to repack her healer's materials, it would do her no good to waste them after all, as some of those herbs could be difficult to find. "Take care!" She called after, green eyes coming to light as she already began to map out what she would do with her free time this evening. Well...Ka'hmesh could help her with that.
