Liraeal had always been engrossed with the forest. With the feeling of being isolated, slipping between trees, it made her feel one with the earth, as cheesy as that sounds. As though she could hear the heartbeat of the green mother. Her face lit up with joy, with the sudden break in missions she was finally able to go deeper into east, able to feel the brush of the fir trees against her back, the thick leaves from last fall underfoot, listen to the sounds pleasing to her ears. Her gaze was soft, her stance at ease as she walked, one hand lightly brushing against the trees in passing, knowing she was moving in the opposite direction of her home and the lake, further into the forest. If only… If only she could find this peace somewhere else.

Sei had never ventured this deep into the forest before, and while it un-nerved him, at the same time he knew it was what he needed to test his boundaries and strengthen his senses while not relying on sight. The shadows he could see were all that kept him from bumping into too many trees, though roots and the local flora and fauna kept tripping him up... more than once getting a mouth full of dirt. "Trees and flowers can't get the best of me... need to get better, and stronger." he muttered to himself while sniffing at the air... his ears in tune to everything around him, and honestly was causing a slight headache. All the various bugs and birds were hard to distinguish... and eventually he just plopped down at the base of a tree. Taking a deep breath and focusing on the sounds around him, he heard someone running through the leaves close to where he was, their scent tickling his nose as a slight breeze blew through the trees.

Admid the infrequent splotches of sun, Liraeal ran, her head upturned in joy, happiness radiating off of her for the first time in what felt like weeks… months… years. She was so engrossed with the feel of everything around her she hardly noticed the other sitting near by, a mistake that did not often occur to the femme. Her sent played downwind, sending him her aroma of spiced blackberries, and jasmine. She ended up in a small clearing, clover patches thriving amid mushroom rings and fairy circles, it made her heart pang in sudden loss, being reminded of the home she had come from… the home she now wished she had never of left. Happiness was a distant thing, much like her memories of Greece, of sure freedom even after the fall of her masters.
The wind shifted sending her a salty aroma, one of confusion, of mixed emotions, of someone resting that she had somehow… missed. Lir obviously needed to find a way to be-rid her mind of these distractions… especially if it meant her family was to be attacked because she was sloppy. Lir clutched the handle of her Epée, turning and making her way silently toward the intruder. No one in their right mind traveled this far into the anbu territory unless they had plots to overthrow, and though she may hate the leader and her second she refused to let her home be harmed.
Liraeal drew her weapon and pointed it at the stranger, her eyes narrowing. “explain what your doing here.” She said softly, her voice flat and almost deadly.

Well this was new... Sei had heard her coming back this way and knew that he'd been spotted and that running in an unfamiliar area was useless. Waste of energy in his mind, and seeing as he had no idea who was out there, it was just better to wait and figure out what would happen once the other got there. Finding a sword across his throat however was not the way he'd played out this happening.
"Ah... a female. Well fair lady, I've been having a bit of an adventure out here today, thinking I was alone for the most part, besides the local wildlife. I take it that these are your woods then...?" he replied, quite cheerily despite the current situation if he did say so himself. One hand resting lightly on his sword to defend if needed to the best of his ability... just because this was all new didn't mean he'd go down without a fight if that is what the lady was looking for.

Liraeal noticed the slight movement, and swatted his hand away from his weapon, a low growl escaping her lips. “Look at me.” Her eyes narrowed, body tense. Her deep indigo eyes scanned his face, the boy was definitely pretty, but she couldn’t let that distract her. “What is your name?” Her voice was still flat, emotionless.
Part of her wondered if maybe… this was what she was hoping for. But since when was fate ever fair or remotely kind to her? A irritated sigh escaped her lips, noting this she pressed them together firmly. “just make this easy for both of us, explain why you are here. Then I can either kill you, or walk.”

His ears flicked in annoyance, attempting to locate where her voice was from and do the best he could to at least look at her face. Finding her shadow helped a bit, but with all the trees it was difficult to be sure, so he just guessed from where her voice had last come from. Sighing deeply, he began again, though with a small smile on his lips... enjoying this little encounter so far. "As I said before, I'm out here on a bit of an adventure today, placing myself outside of my comfort zone. I'm better when here are other human and feline scents to work through instead of trees and plant life... so I came here to familiarize myself with it if I ever needed the skills. Though I've come into contact with more trees than I'd like..." he joked, rubbing a slightly sore spot on his forehead.
Being pretty much fully blind was something he had lived with as long as he could remember, but it wasn't something he liked pointing out nonetheless. So here was to hoping he was looking in the right direction and could see that his eyes weren't what they should be...

A slow understanding formed in her mind as her indigo gaze looked unblinkingly at his clouded gaze. It explained a lot quite honestly, why he had wandered into Anbu territory, why he was here. But that didn’t make him any less dangerous. “I believe you for now. Even if it is against my better judgment.” Her hand reached out, tilting his chin towards her face, other hand still holding the blade to his neck.
The last truly blind person she had encountered was her granddame, so seeing his clouded eyes formed a trust she wasn’t sure she liked. “I have to stay with you while you train however, you have stumbled into someone’s territory and if others find you without escort they may not be as fickle as I, and simply kill you on the spot.” Lir lifted her epée from his throat, though kept it unsheathed, and offered him a hand. “Liraeal.”

"Sei, pleased to meet you Liraeal.. beautiful name by the way." he replied, smiling up at her, or what he assumed to be her from the shadows he was seeing at the moment... starting to separate the trees from other things easier now. even though the added company would be a bit of a distraction, he was willing to work with that if it meant he got to be in the presence of someone like her with a good bit of fire in her.
Spotting the shadows moving again and assuming she was offering him her hand, he reached out and bumped into her lower arm then moved down to her hand. Not wanting it to look like he was trying to pull something. "Well thank you for being willing to be my escort of sorts... though blades isn't the kind of training I'm doing today..."

Liraeal raised an eyebrow and chuckled softly to herself. “Never said it was. You obviously need to learn how to move through various types of terrain, not be playing with pointy objects while doing so. No offence” Her voice was quiet, as though her mind had gone back to wandering through the trees and she wasn’t -truly- there. “I offer my arm if you so please. I’ve had several years training in a forest, and your least likely to crash with me around.” Liraeal closed her indigo eyes, her mind humming with a music that sounded like a blend of flute and harp. Though with the Anbu, it could very well be outside her head, several being very musically inclined.
A certain heat filled her as she held onto his hand, one she hadn’t experienced since Youko, which eventually led her to kits. Two very tiresome, troublesome, self righteous kits. She didn’t know what to say so she remained silent, allowing the sound of the forest around her to reassure her nerves. Who was this person? And was what he said the truth?

He raised an eye brow and looked over, wondering if he'd imagined the momentary tensing up he'd felt in her arm with then touched, but kept quiet... she interested him, and wasn't going to risk losing her company for the day. "I'm certainly not going to pass up the chance to spend the afternoon with a lovely lady, especially one as sweet as you." he said happily, standing up and sliding her arm into the crook in his as he stood.
"I've become quite up close and personal with quite a few of your trees today, and my head as taken quite the beating." trying to make up some light-hearted conversation after feeling that she was still a bit uneasy... which he couldn't blame her.

Lir lifted her head to look up at him, a slow smirk forming on her lips. Oh my, a smart one. “Well, if you focused hard enough im sure you wouldn’t have that trouble. Everything has a spirit, just someone like you needs to take some to adjust your way of thinking to see it. Then it doesn’t matter if you lack eyesight or not, your body will instinctively know how to avoid other life. Their aura will alert you of their presence.” She nodded her head once, feeling like she was reciting from the scripture she had learned from as a kit. The stuff her mother had forced down her throat, from a long dead culture, in a long dead tongue. Only now did she know its true significance.
Liraeal lifted her hand up to brush a strand of hair from her face, the quick silver locks falling heavily in waves down her back, With the direction of the wind it fell forward, caressing their arms. “Though I feel bad for your head, I don’t hold much sympathy. I grew up running through forests with a blindfold in attempts to train my other senses. Not a fun task.”

"Hmm... seems like that might be worth looking into and spending some time attempting to put it into practice. I would like to have what is left of my brain undamaged as much as a possible." Sei replied while reaching over and patting her arm gently, wishing he had the time to enjoy this place instead of feeling disoriented. Maybe another time... if he could convince her to come with him again, there would be company as well. That was a pleasant enough though in and of its self and had him smiling a little.
"Sounds like an interesting childhood, though it seems that your head as come through it unscathed, so there may be hope for me yet."

A low laugh erupted from Liraeal’s throat as her Indigo gaze bore into the land in front of them, cold, unyielding. “You obviously haven’t been here long if you believe I am completely sane." The thing was… Liraeal was completely solid, mentally as well as physically… she had just been told and heard spoken behind her back of her insanity, she had lead herself to believe it. She sighed, running a hand in front of her face, a slow burn between her eyes spreading. She tilted her head at Sei’s interest, her eyes closing briefly. “I would recommend you train with them… but the entire royal guard and the royals themselves were destroyed.” Except for two, a advisor and one mentally scarred cat, a former commander. Liraeal herself. She sighed and coughed into her hand, trying not to see anything into the past as she so often did. “tell me of your past, how did you come to this... disposition.” She mumbled quietly, hoping the distraction would ease some of the pain from around her.

He thought about it for a moment.. wondering if anyone was truly completely sane by anyone's standards, since they all varied depending on the person you were talking to. "My dear, while I seriously doubt you are as insane as you might believe from what you've said... I think there is a bit of it in all of us. Sounds quite boring to be completely same all the time, wouldn't you think? All depends on how you look at it." Having met some truly insane individuals, and she certainly didn't seem to be one of them, or even partially... though sometimes it was harder to tell with some than others. "I am sorry to hear of their unfortunate demise though..." he replied, reaching over and giving her hand a comforting squeeze. Though he was a little put off for a moment when she asked about his condition... not liking to talk about it much, if at all. "It's all a bit fuzzy really... happened in a not so pleasant point in my life that tends to like to be forgotten."
