Two of their teammates had fallen.
Many people had fallen in Destiny City, for that matter, and there was worry and chaos everywhere. Almost everything was closed down; schools, malls, shops, except the memorial itself, which was what Eve deemed as pretty boring. Everyone said it was a plague, that an epidemic was spreading, but they knew better. At least Eve didn't think it was a plague, but worries were focused on those who lay in the Memorial, slumbering away in their beds, breathing, but not waking up. Even one of the Zodiac had fallen. Aquarius, Serenade had said solemnly, with a grim look on her face. Many other people she known too had fallen, senshi or not.
It was hard to decide which to believe. A strange sickness, or something supernatural? Once you stepped into the ranks of senshi, it was hard to look at the world and see that strange things happening people managed to explain with some fangled scientific explanation to be not so. The lines between reality and fantasy were blurred.
The only thing to do now... the only sensible thing to do now was to stand firm in their roles as protectors of the city, however hopeless the situation seemed in their hands. That and visit the people they knew who lay unperturbed by all the chaos going on around them.
At least that wouldn't be as boring as staying in the dorms.
She, Rea, Ume and Chloe were visiting Delphine and Beth, and as they walked, Eve talked, wanting to dispel the tension in the air caused by the huge mess. "Do you think we should get them something? A gift? Or should we wait until they wake up?" They would wake up. They had to.

Ume shook her head and bit her lip worried. "I'm not sure... I've heard you can read to people and they can hear you... I just, you don't think that someone took..."
She couldn't bear to finish it, what if they had run afoul of a negaverse agent, what if this was the first wave of some unified assault.
She shook her head, surely they would have seen or felt that coming, right?
"There are so many..." She whispered, wishing she understood.

"No," Rea spoke up for the first time that they had been walking, her voice a little sharper than usual. Stress, of course, was the cause for this, as well as her own guilty conscience, "Chloe and I were with Beth when she collapsed. There was no one close enough."
There were some memories that you wished would stay with you forever. There were other memories you wished you could forget as soon as possible. Ironically, it was often the pleasant memories that faded first, as if willing them to the front of your mind wore them down, like the words on a much-loved letter. Although the memory of Beth's collapse was one she wished she could forget, Rea bid the memory to the surface of her mind again, as she had numerous times in the past few days, willing herself not to lose it. Perhaps it would offer some clue as to what happened, some minute detail that could help them solve the riddle.
So far, it had turned up nothing.
The strawberry blonde let out a slow, even breath, continuing in a softer voice. "Besides, the negaverse couldn't have done all of this." She said nothing more in response, keeping her eyes focused forward as they continued, trying not to think about what would happen if they didn't wake up.

"We were on the phone actually when it happened." The feline nodded towards the three senshi. Chloe was following beside them on the floor, how she was admitted into the hospital to walk was more of the 4's clever plan. Chloe was there under the guise as a trained therapy cat. Thankfully the hospital staff were in such a tizzy that they didn't ask for official paperwork- or maybe chloe was just that cute of a siamese.
"We were talking through the senshi cell phones when it happened. Everything was fine and then there was... nothing, her side went blank. Rea and i were in a panic she apparently went down along with countless others. The negaverse is good but they are not THAT good." She mused- her tail swishing back and forth as she walked.
She was agitated, she was infuriated, she was.... damn worried too. Two of her team was down for the count, and their was NOTHING they could do about it. They did not even know what had caused this, or why. Even the negaverse seemed to be less active... which caused her to believe they took some casualties too.
"Which rooms are they in?"

"Serenade says the Negaverse has never done anything this huge." Eve agreed, throwing Rea a sympathetic look. It probably hadn't been easy to see, or at least hear, someone close to you go into a dead faint and not wake up at all. Or not even know the cause as to why. Even Princess Chronos did not know, although she did have her suspicions. It wasn't very easy to talk like this in public, though the nurses and doctors around were more busy and worried than to pay attention to a couple of teenagers and a cat.
"The nurse said they're both down this hallway." Eve answered; it would be better to continue the senshi talk once they were in a room. "Let's go see Beth first, her room's nearer anyway."

Ume was more than a little relieved to hear that there had at least been witnesses for Beth, there was after all no way to steal a starseed indirectly... was there? Her mind could not help but to wonder at darker possibilities.
The number of starseed loss casualties had spiked recently too.
"What could have done this I wonder..." She murmured softly as they made their way into Beth's room. Someone had left a bookmarked copy of "Practical Magic", a paperback with a blue cover and a black cat... and a panda plushy with rainbow 'points' rather than black.
"Must have been her cousin..." she murmured, I think she's staying with his family since... her mother..."

Rea nodded at Flora's comment, acknowledging the mention of the Princess of the Zodiacs with neither a positive nor negative inclination. Whether or not the strawberry blonde was affected by her mention, she gave no indication, her blue-green eyes focused almost a little too intently on the room at the end of the hallway. "The Queen of the Parallel court has taken responsibility for it," she replied, her tone falling slightly more serious, "Their Prince Alexandros' Crystal."
Stepping into the room where Beth rested, she moved to give the others room as they approached their coma-ridden friend, taking a section of space by the wall. Around them, numerous other cots and hospital beds filled the room to the point of claustrophobia, only enough room to circle the beds, should a nurse find time to check up on them. The air was filled with the beeping of equipment as it monitored vitals -- the experience seemed enough to make anyone anxious for any number of reasons. Ume's comment drew an almost-silent sound from the strawberry blonde, sucking in a slow breath. Reaching up, Rea brushed a lock of hair off of Beth's forehead, offering Chloe one of the nearby chairs to use as a step onto the bed.
"Selene says they're just sleeping..."
It was a random comment, and her eyes reflected it, eyebrows furrowed slightly in a thoughtful worry. No one wanted to think about what would happen if they didn't wake up. She didn't add how she had also said it had been dangerous. There was no point upsetting anyone unless they needed to know.

Her chest slowly rose and fell at a normal pace as the group entered the packed room. The beeping of all the various machines in the crowded rooms could drive a man mad if they stayed in one place for too long. Beth did not tussle or move around, the only thing really visible was her eyes were moving behind lidded sockets. A good sign that she truly was just in a deep dream, she hoped.
"She said she is staying with her cousin now... wherever he lives. So it probably was him, he is the only family she has left now. " Chloe was grateful for the chair- which she leapt onto easily and just as easy to the bed. She skirted around the sleeping girl and settled on a bare patch of bed close to her face. "Oh beth..." She said- worry all over her expression.
"Selene?" She asked at the comment anyways- looking back at Rea. "How would she know they were just 'sleeping'."

Her eyes darted to Rea when her roommate mentioned the cause for this worrisome situation, that of the Parallel Court. She had only heard of the Parallel Court, mostly from her Princess, and had never met them before. They seemed pretty dubious, strange, and now that they knew that their Prince had caused this mess, Eve didn't know what to think.
But Serenade said the Queen was her ally, and Rea didn't seem too put off by this either, so she shoved the nagging feeling in the back of her head elsewhere, deciding to focus on Beth instead, gazing sympathetically down at her friend.
"Just sleeping?" She repeated, wanting to know more still. "Then when will they wake up?"
