This is a private role play between Zhong [Kanove] and Huang-Fu[Nyxtsuki Moon].

Setting:

The Docks
early in the morning and two legion boys find themselves among each other
PostPosted: Sat May 22, 2010 10:19 pm

It was early in the world of Lunaria. Night had begun its fall into day as the sun cracked over the docks of where Huang had made himself comfortable. It was quiet, the only sound being the water lapping over the wooden poles that kept the dock up and the sound of Huang's fishing pole dropping into the water with a plop. It was high past the times for the battles and many of the villagers had retired to bed. You could see some of the fisherman's though, ones that got up early than most, set their boats out on the water, like air into the water and disappear from the horizon.

In truth, Huang hated fishing, for he never really caught anything and was technically not allowed be here and only had escaped his duties to honor the old tradition of his deceased friend. Also during this time, Huang found himself day dreaming. It was rare but while fishing, he had let down his defenses and slid into a almost trance brought on by the years old tradition and the past that was attached to it.

As he sat daydreaming, of nothing and everything, He thought of the two people he had met so far and how close he had become to them. It was rare for him to be so open to people and he had accepted them as people to affect him in the future, much like Yuan did. and as he thought of them, He wondered more about the people of Lunaria and if he would ever meet more of them.

The bending grass and glistening cobble streets reflected undisturbed layers of dew in which they held upon early sunlight. The dawn's sunrise had been clearer than many before it this morning for the stormy clouds of weekends past had moved further on. Few Lunarian citizens moved about their day, several were still kept in their bed- or within the confines of their home.

One walked alone, without disturbance, and without any particular destination. Zhong had long since been silent to friends and foe alike- since the unfaithful passing of his sister his family had to regain the strength and will to push forward in their lives. It had drained all of them of their energy, so the boy had spent many a day coddled up in bed. Except for today. His journeys were in hopes to find a form of enlightenment. No form of prayer had brought him such luck and it was against his beliefs to beg for such a thing.

'It will come when the time is right.'

The phrase rang through his ears, and he understood it. The meaning was nothing foreign. However, it still felt like something that should have already happened- and it probably had.

Taking a cloth from his waist the Lunarian coughed into it and wiped away his mouth. The morning air was thick and hard to breathe in, but slowly the boy found himself in an area where the air was light and expansive- the docks. Never before had he tred in such a place, his father ought not to be a fisherman for his bad luck and temper would send him reeling to the bottom of the ocean. However the boy looked with pride at the rolling pristine waters.

Little of it had been disturbed and since his arrival the noise of a calm ocean rolled threw his head. It was welcoming and inviting. Carefully Zhong manuvered himself around a few creates and stood further out on the dock to see the morning horizon. A few blurry boats were rocking in the distance, rods for fishing extended from their bow.

It was relaxing, and peaceful. Yet the docks felt somewhat secretive, like much was hid within their grasp. However, something as figurative as that was unnoticed by Zhong. His eyes only looked out upon the ocean with a feeling of dismay and sorrow. "What spirit brings me here so?" he asked to open air, blatantly ignoring the other lunarian boy on the dock.

Huang became aware of another presence as the quiet of the air was disturbed, through the swish of the person's clothing and slight breathing, Huang could tell it was a boy like himself. A fact verified when the boy stepped out further into the docks and spoke of a spirit guiding him.

Huang and no qualms about spirits, he knew of the goddess that guided the acts of Lunarians through fate but that was it. Why the boy needed to look for a spirit to wander to the docks was interesting enough to Huang that he carried his voice to the boy.

"And Why must a Spirit bring you what we find natural enough as breathing?" Huang reeled in his lure from the water and got up, looking at the boy, "Are you perhaps lost instead?" Huang asked in case, for people did find themselves duly lost all the time, though Huang doubted this boy was. He looked like he was here...just to be here.

Lost. The Lunarian had never considered that he might have found himself in an inescapable area- one in which he knew no direct way out off. His body had only allowed his feet to guide him to a place of absolute solace. With his mind fumbling with the thought his feet turned him to face the other. The boy took no look of being dangerous- instead one of solitude overtook the atmosphere."I have never considered such, I only inclined to follow my body- instead of my mind."

Zhong knew what was coming from his words was nothing but pure truth, in fact, he knew that what he spoke could only be the truth. "I have never seen such vast waters, this is my first- I guess- to see the ocean." his note was truthful, and his tone thoughtful. It felt like a moment to be as such, for there was no hostility or adventurous spirit in the air.

"How doth, if you care to share, such an area bring upon a mood so solemn as such?" he asked with no ill-regard to the ocean or to case in which it affected him. He only wandered what magical prowess it held over people, such a power to affect moods where moods were not to be meddled with.

"As for such," he began, "the spirit that I named as such is nothing mailable or whole- I just find that I am inclined to follow it more so at times than my own soul."

Huang admired a healthy mind and the refreshing outlook of the boy's answer. Not often was he found bemused by such truthful answers, and in the world as it was now, truth was as dangerous as the lies. Though Huang tried not to dwell on the negative, he studied the other boy again.

"Ah so it is your body that yearns to go, It is rare to meet someone so inclined to look not from the inside, but to let his body be the one to look and seek." Huang cocked his head at the boy, "How is it though that you have not seen the waters of our land? we are surrounded by this vastness of aqua color." Huang waved his hand over the water, the sea salt air was a refreshing scent in his nose as was the clear blue purity of the water to his eyes. The body spoke of the body leading him here, and maybe it was that which led Huang so many times before, the surroundings reminded him of his lost friend and so his body remembered the scents and sights and brought him in normal pattern, to continue the reminder of his friend.

"I do not know how to answer that question." Huang kept his gaze on the ocean again, "It is a mysterious power, The Ocean. It is like the many moods of us Lunarians. It feels the pain of weathers, The joyous bounty of fishing, the clash of ships against waves. It sends out positive yet negative feelings, like if it is alive itself." Huang raised his hands and let them fall, "How is one to describe something thats power is far beyond its own?" Huang looked at the boy now in the eye and frowned.

"Ah so your are a conduit? A religious man?" Huang studied the boy even more, and for once didn't think of his alliance, His mind was bright enough to intrigue Huang but in case, he would ask anyway, "My name is Huang-Fu of the Lee family. I am of Legion borne and Legion i have prided myself to, you are?"

"Religious yes I may be, but I happen not to be a conduit." he paused,"I live for the bounty of sword, however, I do not abuse it's bountiful thirst." Looking to the east the Lunarian knelt and sunk his hand beneath the silky and cool ocean waters. The question came at no surprise, for the boy had taken no honor in naming himself to the other beforehand. It had been quite rude of himself but his honor dismissed it as a lack of aptitude or importance.

It held no meaning at the time of their meeting, however, now details seemed to arise and be of the utmost importance to them both. For now, anyway.

Drying his damp hand on a waist cloth the Lunarian took stance and bowed properly."Guo Zhong Xian is my name, Zhong you may call me for short. I am of Legion blood, and as you it is the side I so wisely follow." Zhong's curious eyes scanned the area before he spoke again, "for such alliance to a cause so pure, so for the populace is a better. Speaking my feelings as such I fight now for a government but for the civility and delicacy of our nation and people. Not for her royally esteemed, or the fancies such nobles surround her with."

The Lunarian didn't intend to allude to the nation as a female figure but his taste for the Nobles was in cold blood. Especially after confrontation with two of the 'elite' warriors. He viewed the noble as no more than a flock of fancy individuals- nothing more- and fighting for an unjust cause. No world was more corrupted than that of a paid power.

"Why does one such as yourself choose such a fleeting cause, it seems as if most remain neutral or noble, sometimes it feels as if such a fight makes no difference." he leaned on a solid crate before resuming his speech, "The nobles seem to be taking such a lead-"

Huang listened steadily and became thoughtful, it was rare to meet such a in tune individual with the higher spirits, even more so to be talented in dance of blades. He watched with more interest as the boy felt into the water, as if formalizing himself with the water.

It was nice to here that the boy was a Legion as himself and Huang bowed his head in respect. "Ah well met then Zhong and it is nice to meet another one of the legionnaires here." Huang nodded at the boy now, this was his second meeting of the legion alliance and felt himself easily relaxed with the boy.

"I choose because i was raised that way,"
Huang looked now at the sea, he had been raised as a legion assassin and that was that, he didn't question his families motives as to why they chose their alliances but followed them out of his loyalty that he owed...and for his friend Yuan but that was not for Zhong to be shared with, "I follow the traditions of my family that have been passed down, and we have served the emperor out of loyalty and love, it is not to change even now." Huang put his hand on his hip in a cocksure pose, "I do not wish the outsiders of our island into ours as well, I do not wish to see our traditions to be replaced with ones such of another culture which is unknown to us." Huang grimaced as he thought of the losing war, Legions we're being extinguished everywhere he looked by nobles ideology that corrupted the poor minds of Lunarians everywhere.

"It is nice to meet such another with the same ideas as my own."
Huang held out his hand to Zhong, "It is even better to find a comrade here."

"Surreal it seems to find even the smallest of light on an island so large like our own." he whispered. His body was tired from traveling so early before the sun bore light, so gently he lowered himself upon a large crate and took to his own thoughts for a moment. It was quiet between the two for a few minutes as waves lapped over one another and came rocking to the shoreline. Pushing a stray strand of hair out of his face he held it carefully for a moment before slowly turning his gaze to the other legion.

"You have found yourself out here at quite an early hour, did you have no place to stay?" he asked, his curiosity had gotten the better of him but when he considered the facts- few individuals, thoughtful or not, found themselves awake at such an early hour. Pulling from his pocket a cold biscuit he broke it in half and offered it carefully to the other. "You are hungry, yes, no?" he smiled.

Huang reeled in his rod as the boy sat on the crates and the silence sat between them. Though it wasn't awkward, more comforting and two lunarians of like mind. Huang hadn't had a decent catch today and that was to be his lunch. Though it didn't matter since the boy was used to small meals and such anyways. He shifted as he started to put his rod away, tying the string to the rod in a manner that it would not come loose but not tangle either.

He cocked his head though at the boy, "I find myself here so early so that i can avoid the morning market of people." Huang shrugged, "I find my home is not appealing at such a hour anyways." Huang joked though he did not smile, "and it is my internal clock that keeps me awake at such time, what about yourself? You wandered so far in the morning, do you have work to attend later in the day?" Huang bent his head forward studying the boy, it was true that it was early in the morning, and not many we're around but thats when Huang liked it best.

"Ahh A bit it seems."
Huang's stomach gave a faint growl and he bowed his head in thanks before taking the other half of the biscuit, so much for his stomach that could deal with small meals, "It seems that my catch today was not as bountiful as i presumed it would be."

Nibbling on the biscuit the lunarian hustled to swallow it after the other had turned the conversation back to him. "My 'internal clock'" he briefly noted between bites, "is normally what wakes me up at such an hour. At youth my responsibilities often kept me up in the early hours in order to prepare our family business." Zhong hadn't been exaggerating, when he was just a small boy him and his father were up cleaning and organizing the past days mess in order to prepare the shop for opening.

Finishing off the biscuit the legion boy returned to his feet and raised his arms towards the sky in a morning stretch, "No work for me today, my father agreed to take over the shop so I could rest." Stepping over towards the dock edge he looked off at the danging fishing wire. There were plenty of fish in the water and taking a closer look he found the weight dangling just below the waters surface. "I might be speaking out of place, but perhaps you have no bait on your line?" he suggested.

Zhong was no professional fisherman, in fact he had only fished once in his life but it seemed as if the weight was too close to the water's surface to be supporting any bait on the hook beneath it. Sitting with his knees below him the Lunarian looked at the water and sighed,"Might I suggest you take a meal with me? It would be what I could do from having distracted you?"

The suggestion was a question of time. If the other worked he would most likely be needing to head off soon. If not, they would have time to catch a meal wherever the Huang might like. Rising to his feet again the Lunarian supported himself by leaning on the old dock railing and looking at the Lunarian fisherman. Pulling on the string around his waist he raised the obvious question, "Where would you like to take breakfast?"
PostPosted: Tue Jun 08, 2010 9:49 pm

Huang cocked his head at the boy, "Ah then you are very trained to your time, It seems that my brothers internal clock are always set for midday, so i have the mornings to myself." Huang was thankful though for his brothers late time schedule, otherwise his fishing trips would get canceled a lot and he would be cooped up more than he already was.

Chewing the last bits of his half of the biscuit, Huang also stood up, gathering his fishing supplies and pulling his rod in and laughed. There was no bait on his rod and he felt the small amount of despair fall over him...and embarrassment. "Your right, there was no bait." Huang quickly folded the rod away and stashed it in his sack, shouldering it before looking over at the boy again.

"Ah a meal sounds good then! and i have the time before midday sets into joining you." Huang frowned, "Where do you want to go then? I am not familiar with the restaurants nor food places around here." and that was the truth, Huang knew nothing of the shops besides his master's where he worked and then Jianyu's Tattoo parlor. He stared at Zhong with uncertainty.

With a smile spread over his face the Lunarian felt a bit foreign to himself but he hoped he had posed to the other as a great friend. Storing what little he had retrieved from his pocket while fetching the biscuit he nodded, "We ought to be on our way than, the sun waits for no passerby in it's flight."Drawing up the strength he pushed himself up off the dock floor and began immediately walking into town.

The aroma of morning air and freshly baked streets leaked out from closed shops. Many were still preparing for the lunch rush, however, a few had their doors open for early risers. It was tradition for many families to stay home and eat breakfast, to prepare for the days work. Just in case though, a few restaurants provided food for those heading home from a nights work, or those who simply rose to no meal to greet them in the day.

One place in particular served a peculiarly delectable array of foods, ranging from pastries to fresh seafood. Pointing at the place with interest the Legion led the other over to it's cover. The majority of the place's seating resided outside, so that is where he choose for them to take their place.

"By the fireplace perhaps, the morning air is a bit bitter?"
he suggested to their waitress who led them over without complaint. Once seated Zhong ordered himself a cup of warm milk and gave the table to his companion to order what he wished for drink.

After a moment he set down the menu, having made his choice, and sighed. "Why is the majority of your day taken up by midday, if I may?"he asked curiously.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 15, 2010 1:46 pm

Huang followed the other Lunarian in silence as they walked through from the docks to the marketplace and further. It was even more difficult to stop from smelling the scents that wafted out of the few open doors. Huang kept his gear shouldered and let his eyes wander over the place. "This is true, When the Goddess makes her path, none shall ignore it." Huang found himself being oddly philosophical with Zhong but it didn't seem to seem unnatural.

He returned to silence even as Zhong pointed out the place they we're to eat, Huang only nodded his head as they found themselves seated outside by the warm fireplace and thanked Zhong for his consideration, It had been a chilly morning indeed and the chill still sat in Huang's bones.

He ordered a hot tea, a little on the bitter side to keep his senses awake and looked over the menu too. It was not often that he ate in the restaurants of the Lunarian land, and found most of the dishes sounded delicious from the menu.

He was still choosing as he answered Zhong, "Because i am the third son of my family, I am charged with my oldest brothers care. I am to make sure he has everything he needs, to care for him when he needs it and to guard him from danger." Huang looked over at Zhong, "In truth, I am technically a object of my mother and brothers bidding. From midday to midnight, I find myself occupied by their request."

Drinking from the milk the Lunarian listened carefully to his company's remarks and held his silence. Zhong wasn't knowing of siblings or families with siblings and how they acted. In fact, the Lunarian's knowledge in general was impressively narrow. He hadn't grown up learning much about the world and how it involved other aspects outside of his family business and prayer.

Running a stray hand through his tangled hair he nodded and looked at the other; his hands tipping warm milk into his mouth. Sitting up and he waved the waiter over and asked for another cup of milk, waiting for him to leave before speaking. "You don't sound so pleased to have been placed in such service." he noted. The other looked to be a brave individual with a keen sense of duty, but also incredibly quiet and undecisive.

Pulling off the table a small menu, Zhong unfolded it and looked inside. His eyes scanned the contents and upon finding something he liked, he ordered. With a cup of warm milk in hand and a smaller treat on the way.
