I would like to learn Japanese for my roleplays which I par-take in. And My online buddys speak Japanese as well; I would like a private tutor if possible, we can PM each other, and help me in Japanese. I have a booklet of words in Japanese, from my older brother which has moved out, he attempted learing Jap. But he moved out, and gave up. I do have a disorder, ADHD, causing me to forget things and not really listen.

EDIT:

PM me for more information.

Aside from a private tutor, there are a lot of cheap beginner's japanese language books you can buy in most book stores that can give you a running start. You should look into them.

I agree... also check out www.whiterabbitpress.com and the Kana Flashcards and Shadowing (a book).

I also have ADHD, and you would be superised that it doesn't affect a lot. Just practice 5 minutes 3 times a day for a couple of weeks, then 10 minutes twice a day for a couple weeks, then 15 minutes twice a day for a couple weeks, and so on until you can at least get an hour in day. (Preferably at one time.) Also start watching Anime and try to repeat what they say. Sorry if that seems like a lot of information.

If I were up to that, I would be learning little things, like anou, aa, totemo, demo.

(Umm, ummm, very, but.)

I’m guessing you want little things; mostly in roman letters?

Konnichi wa - good afternoon
Ohaiyou gozaimasu - good morning
Konban wa - good evening
Oyasumi Nasai - good night

Hai - yes
(I suddenly forget how to spell ’no’..)
Moshikashi - maybe, perhaps
Je matta ne - see you later
Sayonara - a little goodbye
Sayounara - a longer goodbye

Doumo yourishiku - how do you do/our first meeting, please be good to me
Watashi no namae wa ___ desu (insert name)
O namae wa? - What is your name?
O genki desu - how are you?

Nanji - what time is it?

Sumimasen, watashi no nihongo wa dame desu - sorry, my Japanese is hopeless

Other helpful words I can think of:

- Tomodachi - friend
- Tokidoki - sometimes
- Soshite - and then
- Sorekara - I’m here!
- Anou, anata wa hanasu ni Eigo o kudasai (I’m guessing) - Please speak English

Does that help a little?

Byouki
