Kiran easily weaved his way through the crowded portions of the Main Street. He knew it would probably be better to come back later when the street was less busy, but that also meant he might lose the chance to find what he was looking for if someone else found and bought it first. He wasn't quite sure what exactly he sought but believed he would know it the moment he spotted it.
His sister never complained about what he got her. She always smiled and accepted it like it was the greatest treasure in all the world. But he never liked to buy just any old thing and fretted over finding the perfect gift for her birthday. Years ago, it never would have bothered him. He probably would have given her one of the old toys he hadn't played with in years, not caring if she liked it or not. But he was older and wiser, somewhat, now.
He folded his arms behind his head as he continued walking down the street. He glanced from side to side, checking each shop he passed for any item that jumped out at him.

Zhong's arms were pulled in front of him, his fingers were locked around the handle of a fragile case that he was taking home after a morning's shopping. The Lunarian had found himself lost in the massive crowd of early shoppers. Soon enough the legion boy had found himself encamped by a new shop who had founded it's roots in the center of the place.
The shop featured collectible and valuable items gathered by the owner's cartographic journeys through the lands. Turning down a wider street the boy looked from side to side with placidity as his feet carefully grazed the dirt ground. It was hard not to elbow or shove anybody has he walked, but the Lunarian managed by finding it easier to hold his shoulders wide and keep people clear.
The case in his hands held a rare valuable, a glass teapot- molded by one of the past master of ceremonies. It was a rare item in deed, and bought at a bargain. With a smile stretched from ear to ear Zhong noted several people out of interest on his journey. His own family store was a ways a way, but this pot was not for them, it was for a friend whom had taken up the art of tea by his teachings.
It was a rare gift, but a necessary one to a striving apprentice. Even Zhong had received a kettle made of glass upon taking to his own practices. The Lunarian straightened his shoulders and kept his posture erect as his feet resumed moving after a lapse in movement. A momentary scared happened after his shoulder collided with someone heading in the opposite direction.
The boy had his arms spread far to wide for a crowded street like today. "Please excuse me," Zhong apologized, pivoting and apologizing before even looking to see if the gentleman or mistress had frozen.

No, no, no, hm - wait, no, Kiran thought as he looked over the items he passed. The shops had some very nice, finely crafted items. But none of them were right. He passed a shop selling jewelry and almost hesitated to take a closer look at the wares. His sister already had the beginnings of a nice little jewelry collection from previous birthdays. It was only a couple of earrings, a necklace, a few rings, and a brooch or two.
Kiran already knew his parents bought her a new brooch to add to the collection. It was a simply crystal crafted to look like a beautifully bloomed rose. He shook his head as he continued down the street. He wanted to get his sister something unique, something she would absolutely love. Another piece of pretty jewelry wasn't the answer.
His attention slipped a little as he put more focus into checking the displays the shops had set out. He paid little heed to the surrounding crowd. He wadded through the crowd, slipping by with only a few small bumps here and there. His mind remained too preoccupied with the task at hand.
Until a bigger bump jostled him out his thoughts. His arms dropped as he turned around to see with whom he collided. "You should be-" Kiran paused, replaying the other man's words again in his head. He expected the man to have said "I'm sorry" rather than "excuse me." He decided to ignore that little miscue and let him statement stand.

"I do apologize and am terribly sorry," the Lunarian bowed his head in respect, "I am needing to carry on my way, if you'll excuse me." Zhong raised his head from it's position and used a loose hand to pull stray strands of hair back. With a twist of his wrist he began to turn and depart. His hopes was that his situation wouldn't fortify itself into something much more serious than it was.
With a flashback to the previous fight with Bataar the boy winced and only shook his head. He could not dare to engage in another encounter. His body wasn't built for head on advances, he was a tactical and thoughtful fighter. Unlike nobles, who seemed to be more brutal.
It disgusted him but he kept his unfavorable taste to himself. Withdrawing from his pocket a handkerchief, his hand draped lightly at his forehead before drawing the damp rag back around his waist.
Before taking a step away from the other he turned again and nodded his head. "Godspeed be with you, and favorable circumstances too." he announced, only unknowingly praising an opponent.

Kiran snorted in response. Annoyance rippled through him like an itch he couldn't quite scratch. What was the head bowing for? Did this guy want to look all snobby and proper? It left a bad taste in his mouth, for some reason.
"As you should be after ramming into someone so rudely," he spat out, letting his frustration get the better of him. "Maybe you should try watching where you walk so you don't make that mistake again."
A tiny voice tried to push its way to the front his head and remind him that he hadn't paid much attention to the people he bumped into either. But Kiran kicked that voice back into the dark recesses of his mind. He was too annoyed to admit any fault on his own behalf.
"Ugh, now how am I supposed to find that gift?" Kiran muttered, not catching the man's final announcement. He was just starting to get in tune with finding the perfect gift when the other Lunarian jarred him out of his thoughts. The break in his concentration only added to his annoyance and frustration.

Zhong had been able to conceal the levels of annoyance that had been boiling under his skin. He could recognize others and apologize to them with little effort, for it had been the way he had been raised. However, when others jeered at him, it began picking at his nerves. He often agreed his nerves had little room to be tempered with, but up until now he had been able to conceal the true feeling.
"You know what, you act just like the nobles- brutal and disrespectful. Try finding your place in society and getting off your high horse." he snapped. His eye brows twitched and a fevered temperature boiled in his veins. Disrespect was one of the only things Zhong could not stand, not from any individual.
With his encounters of nobles he had founded the idea, in his head, that all of them acted the same. He had only met Bataar once but already this one seemed like a little pawn or descendant of the other. Ignorant, rude, and disrespectful in all levels. "You act just like him." Zhong noted with a wave of his hand in the others direction. His own eyes were locked on the individual but with a deep breath he finally managed to relax a little.
"Just go on your way, good day." with that his feet turned him around and a quick grab of the case and he was on his way.

Kiran's mouth worked up and down, trying to get out any form of speech. He didn't understand why this guy was snapping at him. "You have some nerve," he growled, scowling at the man. "You're the one that rammed into me. And you think I'm acting disrespectful just because I want an apology from you? And in what way was I being brutal?"
He folded his arms across his chest. His face remained a twisted picture of anger. He didn't know how the man had hit the nail on the head when he assumed Kiran was a noble. But the statement only proved that this man sided with the legion. Kiran's scowl darkened as he thought of that.
"I have no idea who this 'him' is that you're talking about," Kiran muttered, wondering just what that statement was about. "But you legions are the ones with the sticks up your butt. You're stirring up such a fuss over a simple apology." He scuffed a foot on the ground in anger, incidentally kicking some dirt at the man.

Zhong's nerves were fried and as they boiled in anger he set the case down on a building sidewalk and stared the other in the face. "Temperamental." he scowled, "That's what you are. No body ran into anybody- you're the one who started this petty fit." He growled at the other and held his position firmly. His hands were locked in fists by his side and his eyebrows furrowed with rage. His skin took on no other shade but the scales on his body began appearing more defined as his anger rose.
"I cannot stand people like you, you and Bataar both. You are both so brutal and get upset so easily." Zhong pulled his hair back and tied it behind his head as his mouth went at insulting the noble boy. He hated the opposing side, and their attitudes. Granted, Legions were no better than the nobles, they too enacted petty fights, but the ones he encountered seemed to be the most ignorant and blasphemous of them all.
Sliding one foot back in the dirt Zhong looked down at the flying cloud and only smirked."Is that the absolute best you can do?" he sneered.

"Oh, that's rich!" Kiran sneered at the other man. "I'm the temperamental one here." He rolled his eyes. He wasn't the one that put on the act of being snobby like a rich little brat. The other man could have walked away at any point in time, but he didn't seem to want to let the argument go.
"Who is this Bataar person you're talking about? Seriously, I have no idea why you're lumping me with some person I've never even heard of," Kiran grumbled. He didn't know what this Bataar character was like, but from the way this other Lunarian talked about him, Kiran could only guess that he held a poor opinion of Bataar. "And there you go again, flinging that word around." He reached out a hand and pointed a finger at the man's chest. "Are you sure you know the meaning of that word? I haven't done anything that could be called brutal."
On such a crowded street, it was impossible not to draw the attention of those passing by. Kiran didn't much care who stopped to stare at the arguing pair. Actually, he rather enjoyed having their eyes on him, and it seemed to encourage to put up more of a fight rather than back down. "Oh, I can do so much better than that," Kiran assured the other man as a tiny grin sneaked onto his face. His fingers flexed, curling and uncurling.
