Trotting lightly through the grass, Yu Zhou had already slipped into his vivid imagination. He had wandered somewhere especially dull, and there was no one else around, so he saw no need to stay in the natural world. All around him, there were fantastical happenings. The ever familiar giant blue rabbits were out again, chasing one another a little off in the distance. Hordes of flying flowers waved down at him and the pale green sun held a look of contempt on its face.
They never did get along.
He kept on, lime green eyes searching for something to entertain him and pull him from his imagination, if only for a little while. The area looked so unpromising, though, so he was a bit saddened by it. His tail swayed methodically behind him, and from above, he looked like a bright blue snake sliding through the grass.

If someone were to look at Burilda from above... they wouldn't see an elegant young lioness making her way through the grass; no... they would see an erratic little thing jumping around and darting as fast as she could to catch the snakes that elluded her grasp. Damn things!
She growled to herself upset with the things that she couldn't get them; but when she finally she called out with joy a small excited growl; obviously coming from a cub. She trotted around in a circle proud of herself with her tail held high and proud. In a 'look at what i did! I'm so amazing!' sort of a way; and that little smile on her face showed excatly what she was thinking. Until the thing started to wriggle and hiss and she dropped it in surprise. "GAH!"
She let out and dropped the thing. Frowning as she watched the thing slither away... it was bleeding pretty badly though... so atleast she could say that she killed something.... SHE'D KILLED SOMETHING 8D "Awesome!"

Flicking his ears up, Yu was slightly distracted from his little world by strange sounds nearby. The vibrant colors flickered for a moment, and his instinctual sense to be alert kicked in. He blinked a few times, re-adjusting to the browns and dull colors of the natural world, looking around to make sure everything was fine. He had become a bit more alert after meeting a few people that had told him that if he remained as trusting as he was, it would end him up in some big trouble one day.
He slowed his pace, looking around more, nothing really catching his eye. But when the smell of blood lightly touched his nostrils, his fur stiffened and the tip of his tail twitched. He moved forward a bit more, straining his eyes until he finally saw a dark figure. Dark….it didn’t seem promising. Yu hated dark colors, but maybe there was something that would make up for the dark pelt. Maybe. Starting to approach it, he kept his distance, still not sure if he should approach it after the sounds it was making before, but he was still curious.

Burilda flopped down onto her rump and started licking her paw to clean off the blood from her paws. It was customary in her pride (demon pride) to lick the blood clean from a kill; and since her kill had gotten away... then she would just lick the blood clean from her fur... and then maybe go take a bath in that watering hole she liked to run to and play in. She smiled to herself content in her own little world; wondering what her sister would think if she'd learned she'd made yet another kill on her own; she bet she'd be so proud!
She sat up a bit higher; proud of herself and wondered what it would be like to get larger prey... She lowered her body as she began to imagine it; keeping her butt high in the air wiggling it lightly from the fun of the thought. She moved a few different ways; as if she was stalking something and let out a small growl. She saw something blue... and thought it was a rabbit. She smiled and waited a few seconds before POUNCING THE.... paw... the big paw.... oh gods.
She looked up at the blue male with shock. That was not a rabbit.

Yu really wasn’t expecting the little dark figure to come up to him so abruptly. Now that he was close to it, he saw that it was just a little lion cub. Huh. Even though it was dark, it did have some redeeming qualities in the eyes of appearance-conscious cheetah. He wasn’t really phased at all by the fact that she had just pounced his paw.
“My my, little one. You’d think my foot had just grown feet and sprouted ears.” Now that he mentioned it, of course he started to picture it. The sight of having little feet on his own paws made him laugh a little to himself. But he needed to focus on the situation at hand. The mere fact that there was a cub on his paw should have been a tad alarming, but the added fact that a mother or father was probably nearby shook the delicate cheetah, and he glanced around nervously to make sure they were alone.

Burilda's mother was usually out on rounds at this time; closer to the jungle area than here at this time of the day and her dad... well one of them was off somwhere she didn't quite know of. But her other father was back in the den sleeping from having come off his own shift tired and ready for sleep. She felt a bit better when he chuckled; most of the lions that chuckled when they saw her usually didn't want to hurt her.... but he wasn't a lion... what was he? She looked up at him curiously unafraid and lifted herself up on her legs and pawed at his face gently.
"What's wrong with your mane?" She asked in a child like manner; the vowels elongated as only a child can do. "Did it not grow in?" She turned her head and saw his tail and her eyes went wide as she ran to grab hold of that as well if she could. "AND WHAT HAPPENED TO YOUR TAIL! Doesn't everyone have extra fur at the end???" What is this... she doesn't even know!

His ears rotated back towards the small cub, not so nervous anymore. He was never allowed to leave the den his whole cubhood, barely able to play around it’s barriers. He assumed that if trouble wasn’t already there, it wasn’t coming.
“What on earth are you talking about, silly little girl? My mane is just gorgeously perfect.” He grinned down at her, summing up her questions as just the naivety of a little one. “And my tail is fine too. Don’t you like it?” He waved it in front of her eyes, running it gently under her chin. “Besides, you don’t have much of a mane either.” Just poking fun, he blew air at the small tuft of hair on top of the cub’s head. Yu found that he could relate better to little ones, partially because he still remained one at heart, and was unrestrained in his actions.

Burilda smiled up at him and tried to catch his tail when he ran it underneath her chin giggling lightly. "Yeah I like it! IT's really fluffy!" She commented nodding her head smiling widely swishing her tail back and forth excited at meeting a new big cat. "I'm not supposed to have a mane~ duuuUUUuuuuh! I' m a girl!" She rolled her eyes and shook her head as she walked back along side him and looked him up and down before sitting in front of him; smiling up at him sweetly. "My names Burilda; what's yours mister?"

“See? Different is such a good thing.” He grinned, staring at the striking contrast in her colors. “Well, I hardly see how that’s fair.” Still grinning, Yu laughed a little, trying to use cub-logic to justify himself, but he couldn’t come up with a thing.
“The name’s Yu Zhou, little Burilda. But call me Yu, cause it’s as adorable as you.” He winked at the small cub, crouching down a little more. “What’s a small cub doing out here all by herself?”

Burilda raised her head proud; not at being called adorable; but at what she was going to tell him "I was out here huuunting~" She nodded her head happily about it. "I caught a snake too! but it got away... I'm pretty sure it's dead somewhere though..." She trailed off looking towards the direction that it had come. She frowned slightly thinking about where it had gone off to. Some vultures would be eating today.
She looked back up at Yu and smiled again. "wanna play tag?" She asked excitedly; crouching down in a pouncing position and raising her butt way up high in the air wiggling it around excitedly. Her ears twitching at the sounds around her as well. She was really good at tag; probably the best there was around. She beat adults ALL the time! though it probably didn't help that they let her win....

“Oh, I see. Well, if it’s dead, then it’s a definite kill. Congratulations, my little huntress!” His bright green eyes were wide with excitement for the small cub. A small part of him shared the pure joy that she had, as he hadn’t learned to hunt until he was much older. Not too long ago, actually.
“Sure, why not? But I’ve gotta warn you…I won’t go easy on you!” He had a certain growl behind his words, adding power and affect to them. Of course, he’d probably run a bit slower, as his very species was the master of speed, but he wouldn’t tell her that. Or show it. Rearing back, he waited for her to start out running, itching to chase something, even if it wasn’t at full speed.

Burilda was happy to see that someone was excited for her too! It wasn't her first kill though... she'd killed a hare once... completely on accident though. She smiled when he growled at her and giggled as she pushed off racing through the grass; pushing herself as fast as she could go and then doubling back in a u-turn and smiling at her smartness. If she were close enough to one she'd probably have tried to climb into a tree or something.
Giggling at the top of her lungs at the fun of it all. "CAN'T CATCH ME!" She screamed excited at how much fun she was having! And with someone that wasn't even from the pride either!!!

With a devilish smirk on his face, Yu waited a few moments, to give the little cub a head start. He really did want to run at full speed, and this was the only way he knew how. Starting out in a full sprint, the u-turn, while a smart move against most, was the one trick cheetahs had down pat. Using his tail for balance, Yu turned on a dime, forcing himself to slow a bit as he caught up to the little cub.
“You really are a fast little thing, aren’t you?” He yelled out at her, wanting to give her a few more moments in the lead. With another burst of energy, he shot forward, wrapping his paws around the small cub, tumbling to the ground, with his body hitting the dirt so the little cub wouldn’t get hurt. After skidding a little while, he started to laugh, tired and content after releasing some pent-up energy. He propped himself up, looking around for the little cub, to compliment her speed. “You almost had me there.” He let out a heavy laugh, showing his good mood.

Buri let out a squeak and a sort of scream of surprise as she was gained upon so quickly. NO FAIR! she wanted to cry out; he was so fast! And though in any other situation that would have been super awesome; it was totally lame right now becuase right now it meant that she'd lost! Though honestly that thought would come to her later; becuase right now; she was in shock. Her whole body trembling at having been come upon so fast and sudden like that.
She pawed at him with her hair all on end; her tail one big giant ball of fluff. Her eyes wide and her nails extended, her whole body trembling nervously. "woah." was all she could get out in that moment.
