The Rec Room was a wonderful place...when it was empty.
When it was full, one had to wait their turn on something. Or wait while someone cooked in the small microwave on the counter. Or even be social when they didnt want to be social in the first place.
Heck, sometimes even the TV or game stations fizzed out if overloaded with too much playtime, and that sucked major.
But, alas, that was no so this fine evening. For some reason (and Jen dare not question the will of the unseen), the room was empty. Therefore, the Grunt had her choice of video games, practicing pool, or just lounging infront of the TV with her boots kicked off. The formost was usually the best choice but her personal memory card had gone missing earlier that day in her room. The second...well, practice was more fun with someone else and her pokemon certainly couldnt play without opposable thumbs.
That left option numbah three: But TV...blah, nothing good was on today anyway. And since Jen had just blown some of her paycheck on some movies in town...
"Lets see...Resident Sin Five...Eraser: From the Past..." The CDs slapped against one another as she flipped through the jacket. "Oh....Dragoneye is a good movie...Or maybe..."
Decisions decisions....

Thunder boomed through the compound, which would have been accompanied by one hell of a lightning strike, if it weren't for the fact that the rec-room was 3 stories under ground.
Not wanting to miss a dramatic opportunity, lightning or no, Nyx jumped into the door frame of the rec room, posed with her hands on her hips and the most manic grin she could muster.
This menacing form was accompanied, as always, by a balloon, a turtle, a brown fluff-ball, and the newest addition to the team; A bird. The space around Nyx was getting crowded.
"Hey! What'cha watchin', partner?" She relaxed her dramatic pose and sauntered in, but stumbled as the mess of pokemon almost caused her to fall over in their rush to claim seats.

Despite the thunder, the room was still brightly lit. So whatever dramatic pose Nyx had in mind didnt really work. Not to mention the cute pokemon hanging off of her kind of ruined the effect of the grin too.
With a grin, Jen gave a small wave her partner before turning her attention back to the CD jacket in her hand. "Well, considering its nighttime and the fact a storm outside pushed us away from the electrical equipment in the department, I decided to come up here and watch a movie before I hit the sack." Pausing in her search, Jen looked back up at Nyx and held out a second CD jacket stuffed with movies. "Why dont ye help me pick one out? Then we can get some popcorn baking and pick a seat on the couch?"
Aeon and Yamir, who were already in their chosen spots on the couch, stumbled a bit at the sudden rush of seat-seekers. Yamir was spared due to his perch on the back of the couch but Aeon was knocked off his spot on one of the couch pillows.
"Chhhhu!" So not cool!

The seat next to Jen was empty now... Nyx sat the cd jacket next to Yamir, then tried to vault herself over the back of the couch.
"Gha!" She severely mis-judged her jumping ability, which led her to being stuck with her bum in the air and short little legs kicking in the air. Yeah, walking around would have been easier...
Beaker, bravest white-turtle of them all, saw her trainer in peril and proceeded to laugh her tail off. She pointed and fell backward onto her shell. She'd taken up residence in one of the comfy armchairs.
Newton gave Yamir a wide birth, and opted to settle in the chair with Beaker.
Langley eyed Yamir too... but more out of curiosity than anything else. Was he looking into a black and white mirror? What was this? He HAD to investigate! The clone had never seen another pidgey before. He perched next to it.
The baby eevee snuggled had claimed Aeon's pillow, but then noticed what he had done and looked somewhat ashamed. He scooted over. They could share!
"Vee!"
Nyx wiggled and tried to slide down the couch, like a snake.
"Little help?"

A small snicker lead to a full-blown fit of laughter at her friend's situation with the couch, despite how much she tried to hold it back. Thankfully, it only took a few seconds to tamper off, though her shoulder shook a bit as Jen reached over to shove Nyx completely onto the couch.
"Try walking around next time, eh? Saves ya a few bruises later on." Grinning, she motioned to the CD jacket. "Have you found anything?"
Aeon, grumbling slightly, gave the eevee a small glare before jumping up to curl up on Jen's lap. Maybe a little later he would join the pokemon on the pillow...but now? His pride and temper kept him from doing so. "Chu..."
Behind them, Yamir stared at his normal-colored double with some friendly interest. He had yet to see another Pidgey around the base.

Nyx settled onto the couch, making a nice butt-nest in the cushion. She flipped through the collection.
"Nightfall... ew. Men who Stare at Flaafy, no. Ben's Maze, too much gun, not enough maze... Brawl Gathering... The week after next... R for Revenge... Shouldn't Have Turned that Way... Holler, Holler 2, Holler 3, Holler: the prequel... Markings... Ugh. Oh hey! Supernatural Goings-on! Lets watch that!" Nyx pulled out the cd and handed it to Jen.
Bunsen's ears flopped down and he started to whine. Why didn't the pichu want to be his friend? "V-vee....."
Langley tilted his head this way and that at the other bird and then hopped closer. This reflection would make for excellent company. He was a pretty bird. Yes.

Swiping the CD, Jen stared at it for a moment before glancing at her partner."Isnt this that weird scary movie where it looks like a home video?"She didnt scare easy but she had heard things about this movie that even freaked her out.
Behind her, Yamir cast a glance at Langley and hopped away from him a bit. Granted, he was curious about this pidgey but....Personal space, much?
Aeon simply glared at the whining eevee.

Bunsen hopped onto Nyx's lap to beg for a treat.
"Yus. It will be awesome. Are you a chicken? Bugwaaah? huh?" She looked down at her adorable food-begging Eevee.
"What do you want?" Nyx pulled out a poffin from one of her pockets. "Do a trick."
The little Eevee could smell how delicious that sweet poffin would taste... A trick? Ok. Bunsen turned around and wagged his tail at Nyx. Tail Whip is a trick. His trainer gave him the poffin and he propped himself up on Jen's lap and bit it in half. The other half of the poffin dropped in front of the pichu. Bunsen wagged his tail hopefully.

Jen huffed and tossed the disc back to Nyx. "Ya right. Ive seen scarier stuffs, person. Just put the movie in and I-"
It was then her lap suddenly became a popluar seat for their pokemon in the room. Laughing a bit at Bunsen, Jen gently placed him and Aeon onto the pillow next to her before standing and making a move towards the microwave. "Anyway, what kinda popcorn you guys want? I got plain to extra-buttery."
Aeon blinked at the offered poffin and took a small paw-full of the offered half as his trainer placed him on the pillow.

"Extra-Butter!" Nyx pushed herself up and stuck the disc in the dvd-player, then returned to her seat to re-plant her butt and wait for snackage.
Bunsen 'Vee'd happily as his new friend accepted his offering, then looked sort of confused when they were stuck on the pillow. Hey! They were back where they started!
