 --Leaf Village Training Grounds--
These are the main training grounds of Konoha. Many generations of ninja of honed their skills here. This area is mostly used for ninjutsu training, projectile training, and other areas that require large space. All around the area, there are trees, and even a river that cuts through it. Located somewhat near the middle of the training grounds, there are 3 stakes, which have been used in a variety of ways. The earth in most areas is hard packed, due to the years of being trampled on.

Ken arrived at the training grounds and began to silently survey the area that would be soon very crowded. Examining the whole of the training grounds he looked for a suitable place to train his speed, seeing the nearby trees and a few clearings the accompanied them he nodded to himself as he walked over and began to place some weight belts around his legs. Feeling the difference he knew that things would get a lot more difficult soon as for now he had only 20 pounds on each leg, something that would do for a while, but that would need to be increased eventually. Nearing the entrance to the forest he paused for a second moving about in a stretching fashion as he prepared himself for the extremely difficult training session. Looking in he breathed deeply for a few moments before he darted into the woods weaving back forth far slower than normal due to the added weight belts. His training had officially begun and as such he would need to do his best to ensure that it was finished as soon as possible to make him mission ready...

Saiyuri arrived at the training grounds, heading over to the edge of the river. She stood there, watching it rush away. It was so constant, it was almost mesmerizing. She stood there watching for a moment, and then turned away, looking about the area. The training ground was a large place, large enough for plenty of people to train. It offered up a few different places to train in, the open clearing, the river, the trees. Saiyuri cast her gaze over the clearing, looking at the stakes. She remembered training her before, learning any suiton techniques she could. Saiyuri smiled to herself, remembering the days before everything went to hell.
Then Saiyuri noticed Ken, one of the people from the office. He was the one who resembled a monk. Just as she had suspected, Ken was a taijutsu trainer. Saiya could see the weights attached to him, a training that tai trainers took on in order to increase their speed. Saiya pulled herself up to one of the steaks, and watched Ken train.
"I'll follow you through Hell and back, level the entire shinobi world, or tear down the sky if you only wish it so."

Ken had been darting back forth as fast as he could for only a few moments and already he had begun to feel the fatigue that came with such rigorous training. After having made it fairly deep into the woods he rotated his body and did a very abrupt about face sliding backwards as he came to a slow halt. Pausing for only a moment he darted back weaving back and forth once more through the trees towards the starting point he had come from. It didn't take him long to reach the the imaginary starting line he had begun from and it was then that he noticed Saiyuri. Slowing down and coming to see her he paused for a moment and spoke " I am Ken Shihouin, I didn't quite get your name in the Hokages office..." he said very calmly. Looking at her he begun to do squats in place strengthening his legs as he awaited her response. He figured it would be rude to ignore her whilst training and as such he might as well introduce himself to a possibly squadmate before continuing...

Takashi grinned. He'd come with Saiyuri, but remained silent, watching Ken do his thing. It was refreashing witnessing another taijutsu specialist at work. "She doesn't talk much." He winked at her. "But her name's Saiyuri. More importantly..." Takashi began to squat right on the spot. He knew full well what Ken was trying to do, and there was no way in hell he was going to let someone pass him up. Definitely not in front of someone he.... never mind that part. Besides, if he could get is blood flowing with a little competition, it might help both of them get faster quicker. In his mind, he was comparing. He seemed more of the agility and speed type, while Takashi himself was more of the strength and endurance type. Maybe later on they could help each other out with specific training.
It all boiled down to weather he found a new friend... or rival.

Ken had truly been awaiting Saiyuri's response but soon got one from another shinobi. It was a man, he was a decent bit smaller than Ken, but just by looking at him it was obvious he was not one to be trifled with. The fact that he immediately joined Ken in the several squats he was doing only intensified the though of the man posing some kind of challenge, nodding to himself he spoke " A fellow Taijutsuist... I am Ken Shihouin of the Shihouin clan..." he said pausing and giving a bow. After finishing it he immediately began doing high knees. This maneuver was generally very clumsy and slow, especially for those whom were tall, however due to Ken's extreme agility and his speed he was able to do several of them very quickly, moving with extreme prowess he looked to the man awaiting his own introduction. Beads of sweat could be seen forming on the shirtless genins body as he continued his hard training session knowing that the trials of being a shinobi had only just begun, seemingly with the addition of a new source of motivation, a rival.
(( Just letting you know this White Whale is not easily caught Ahab! (literally though since I have the speed attribute )))

Saiyuri did not turn to see Takashi, as she felt him coming. When Ken asked her name, it was perfect timing on Takashi's part to show up and speak for her. When he did, Saiya nodded her head, as if to verify his words. Saiyuri watched Ken begin to do squats, apparently really motivated to get some training done. Then, some hormone known as testosterone kicked in, and Takashi joined Ken, as if to compete. Saiya pursed her lips, as one would do when trying to stifle laughter. For now, this would keep her entertained. It was a good thing she was around to, because if one of them happened to pass out from stupidity overexertion, she'd be able to care for them. Saiya assumed it would most likely be Takashi, as he'd done it before. Saiya swung her legs as she sat atop the stake, keeping count of the squats they both did separately in her mind.

Takashi looked over at Saiyuri. "Well, thanks for the bout of confidence." He tried t sound annoyed, but his smirk told her otherwise. Weather she knew it or not, she was still 'linked' to him, which meant he could tell what she was thinking.
As for Ken, Takashi noted the change. "Takashi Shishigami." He bounced right next to Ken's side and mimicked his movements. He may have had agility on his side, but Takashi had experience on his. He may not have been the fastest guy in the world, but his was nothing compared to being chased by an angry Mama Grizzly. Takashi's body didn't change at all, no sweat at all. One good thing about being a Dragonil was the constantly high body temperature that nulled any sort of climate effect on the body. In essence, he only sweated during extreme workouts. He w getting there, but not quite. "Heard about the Shihouin from Mentor. Suppoe to be wicked fast."

Ken listened to his comments and glanced at Saiyuri for a moment before focusing back on what it was he was doing. She had not even said a word and yet Takashi so easily interpreted what she had meant, either they were very close friends or the reason she didn't talk was because she didn't have to. Looking to Takashi he spoke " You shall see..." he said calmly as he intensified the speed with which he performed the high knees, the weights on his legs made it impossible for him to show off how truly fast and agile he was, however he still did a decent job of displaying the speed he possessed. Looking at Takashi he could feel the heat the man was generating and yet not a single sign of sweat, thinking about what this could mean something about the name "Shishigami" kept nagging at the back of his mind. He knew there was some link between that name and the reason he felt this but decided for now to brush it aside and focus on his training, while the competition was inspiring him a bit his personality wasn't overly competitive and so the majority of the reason he kept intensifying his efforts at training was simply to achieve his goal faster. But secretly he did enjoy the company of Takashi and the healthy competition it brought, even if his rather stern visage didn't portray it.
(True... Ken most definitely is not the strongest of shinobi...)

Takashi grinned. He noticed the glance back at Saiyuri. "She doesn't talk. She can't. But once she gets use to her, you feel what she does. We've known each other ever since I cam to the village. Saved by life more than once, too." He was comfortable with the speed he was going at. Right now wasn't about speed, that would come naturally. Right now was about his legs getting use to the weights hidden on his ankles under the pant sleeves. Oce he could move as quickly as he would normally, then he would be ready to move to the next step. "So... Ken... haven't seen you around here. You new?" And now was the time to get to konw his potential ally, as he always did. All he knew was that his clan was able to use someaijutsu style that used chakra to 'flicker' with each step.

[Genin] [Ranmaru] [Konoha] Without a thought spare on the ruckus caused by the pair of taijutsu users just out of view, Manami gently, and slowly moved his feet through the warm water. His palms were rested on the dirt behind him, and he was leaning backwards, looking up towards the sky. That's all he had been doing lately, just sitting and staring into blank spaces. Sometimes the absence of anything was fascinating, because in that area devoid of substance, he could create something, albeit just an illusion. Sometimes he wished he could create flesh and blood, but that was beyond his ability, since he was just a genjutsu user. The water flowed by gradually, seemingly undisturbed by the slow waving of his legs. Today had been peaceful so far, not a disturbance from anyone he did, or didn't know. He looked up the clouds and tried to guess shapes out of them, giving up soon after deciding that today's white mess was just that, a white mess.

Ken listened to Takashi and heard his question. Generally he didn't enjoy making conversation with others, especially when he was training. Although this man could be his squad member someday, meaning that eventually he would need to open up to him, and since Ken was finally beginning his training to becoming a full fledged shinobi he was in an extremely good mood. Holding his pace he glanced at Takashi for a moment and spoke " The Shihouin Clan doesn't send many shinobi into the Academy to become Konoha shinobi. Those that are sent are often held back for quite sometime until they are sure they will properly represent the Shihouin clan. I was held back for 4 years until now, so yes I am new...." he said calmly as he continued his barrage of high knees. By this time he had been doing them for practically 10 minutes and had done quite a bit, he would need to switch his exercise to something else if he didn't want to tire out to soon, looking around he spotted a nearby lake, an excellent idea. Stopping his high knees immediately he moved to the lake side and spoke " What about you?" he asked calmly as he removed his large sash and pants leaving only a pair of undergarments. Folding his clothes very neatly he removed the weights and looked to the nearby boy and spoke " I am sorry if I disturb you..." he said bowing for a moment and then diving into the water. After several seconds of being submerged he resurfaced holding the weights above his head now treading water with his legs. He was definitely going to achieve his wish of becoming even faster and this would make him that much deadlier as a shinobi.

"Lived in a small town called Lirva. Small mountain village. It's where I met Mentor. Only been in Konoha for a few years, but I was around for when all the s**t started with the villages at war." His grin faded when they neared the lake. He quicly began to feel uncomfortable. Not because of Ken, but because of where Ken was going. His entire body lost that easy-going feel; he was nervous. A first. "No... not disturbing. Just... uh.... I'll stick to land, if that's alright with you." Him being a Dragonil, him being a Fire Element Master, everything pointed to one thing: he and water did not mix very well. It wasn't that he was scared of water, he hated feeling powerless, and being in water made him that way. So, instead of taking a dip, he decided to do slow and controlled side-steps at qual pace with Ken. Sometimes slow and controlled bettered the body quicker than fast and wild.

Ken watched Takashi avoid the water, looking over at him he spoke " It is your training, you may do as you wish..." Ken said as he continued to tread, he knew that this was an excellent leg work out and if someone desired to truly enhance their speed they would need to increase the ability of their legs to not only move faster but also move harder. By treading he could work his legs hard and at the same time cool himself down in the water, it was a good break from the heat that accompanied training on dry land. After he had completed this however he would most definitely return to his workouts on land. Clearly he didn't want to stay in the water the whole time. Looking at Takashi he spoke " I have lived here all my life... only in the clans district..." he said thinking back to the large palace like building he lives in. He personally saw it as a prison while most saw it as a mansion, being outdoors in places like this training ground was what he really wanted...

Not too far from Saiyuri was yet another presence. It was familiar though. Saiya grew curious, and lightly pushed herself into the mind of Manami, exiting Takashi's head. When she realized who it was, a smile lit up her features. "Manami-san! I had not expected to see you so soon since the Bijuu war." She did her best to keep her emotions down, but the day had proved to be an excellent one so far. The guys had moved onto training in the water and what not, so she wasn't realy focused on them
