Jen had been in the middle of a project for the demolitions department when the e-mail arrived:
"Be in the lobby within the next two hours. You are being assigned to accompany a scientist for a pick-up." is all it said. There was an unfamiliar name attached to it plus the address was one she didnt recognize. Someone new to the higher-ups? Nevertheless, it allowed the grunt to escape the everlasting smell of sulfur and soot that seemed to hang in the air around here. With grudging permission from her surperior, the electric trainer was off to get cleaned up and gather her two comrades from her dorm room.
About an hour later, smelling less...um...smokey, Jen was waiting down in the lobby for her escortee to arrive. On her knee and shoulder were her two pokemon. They, too, were coming along for the ride, not to mention this would be a good opportunity for them to see a bit of the world outside of HQ.
"Hopefully whoever they are get here soon." Yamir nibbled on her earlobe while Aeon, her newest face on the team, sat up a bit on her knee. "Pichu pi?"
"Dont worry. If they dont come, we'll go hunt them down, eh?"

Nyx had headed to the lobby straight from Genetics. She thanked her lucky stars that her previous guard had taken most of the wrath of the elite off of her. It wasn't intentional, but he did mange to live up to the body guard job.
As soon as she turned in to the lobby she saw Jen and her two pokemon.
"Jen! We gotta go!" She assumed Jen already knew what was up.

Nyx was her escortee? Jen couldnt help but grin happily. Nyx was one of her few good friends here as HQ plus someone she could trust without a doubt.
If she was going on a mission with her then this was going to be interesting. Gathering up her Pichu so he could jump onto her shoulder, the grunt power walked over to the scientist with a hardy wave. Yamir flew over and landed on Nyx's head with a happy chirp as a form of hello as well; Aeon...well, he just stared at her.
"Im ready to head out. Someone already left us a car outside for us." With that, she tossed the keys at her friend before opening and holding the door open for her.
"You can tell me what this is about when we're on the road, eh?"

Instinctively, Nyx caught the keys. She turned and started walking down the hall with her friend before it dawned on her.
"What?! I don't drive!" She held the keys out towards Jen, trying to get rid of them. She did, however, keep walking. This was an important mission. Again.

With a grumble, Jen re-swiped the keys and gave Nyx a light shove towards the passenger seat as they both stepped outside.
"Fine fine, i'll drive. But yer gunna have to act as me TomTom because I have no idea where to friggin' go." With a mock glare, she yanked open the driver side door and allowed Aeon to jump onto one of the back passenger seats. Yamir chose to stay on Nyx's head for the time being.
Jamming the keys into the ignition, Jen slapped on her seatbelt and turned the keys to start the car. She then took a few moments with fiddle with the air and radio while the engine warmed up before glancing at her friend.
"Okay, so where are we heading and in what direction?"

She sighed with relief. The scientist considered ripping up her driver's license so she wouldn't ever have to drive... Oh, Jen was talking.
"Huh? South-east. Along the coast. Haven't you been the Camphoreon?" Nyx reached up to pet Yamir, who seemed to love her hair. He always nested up there when she saw him.
None of Nyx's pokemon were out of their pokeballs.

"Ive been there a few times but..." She mentally went over a map in her head. "Isnt that where the warehouses and stuff are? Southeast, I mean."
Nonetheless, Jen pulled away from HQ while she spoke. Switching the station to some random rock station, she tapped her forefinger along to the music while the car cleared the border around their base.
"So, anyway Nyx....Whats going on in the city that I need to escort you? Did the Boss finally catch a wild Mew or something?"

"No Mew. Man... I'd love to get my hands on one of those... No. There is an outpost of ours out there. Panther and I were supposed to go there and pick up some legendary pokemon's dna. But some grunt, Will, gave us the wrong one. So there is a Pidgey down in the labs in a giant tank... I hope it's a legendary Pidgey."
She sighed. "So we're going back to get the right one. I sure am glad Panther was there. You didn't hear what happened. He mouthed off to that new Elite, Nadja. She almost completely forgot I was there." Nyx looked wide-eyed at her friend. Gossip was fun.

"Aw man...I was hoping to bring a Mew back to base." Jen laughed and grinned at Nyx, quickly putting her eyes back on the unseen road after a moment. "But bringing the wrong sample must have sucked big time and mouthing off to an elite? Yeesh...That guy must have been insane and suicidal or somethin'." Gossip was fun indeed.
Yamir fluttered down so he could rest in Nyx's lap just before the car took off towards the goal. As they rode along, the Pidgey eyed the pokeballs on the belt and reached out to peck at one of them.

Nyx nodded. "He didn't seem crazy during transport... Maybe he just has a problem with authority? Any way. His pay is getting docked the cost of cloning that pidgey, he's on cleaning duty, and confined to the base."
Yamir's poking succeeded in releasing one of Nyx's pokemon. White light flashed and solidified between Nyx and Jen into a white squirtle.
"Squirtle squirt!" She was standing, posed for battle, a strange expression on her little turtle face, probably for intimidating opponents. Beaker looked around. "Squirt?" Where was the fight?
"Ah! Beaker! Sit!" The squirtle sat and looked disappointed. "Jen, you remember Beaker? ... How did you get out of your ball?"

"Pay dock for a clone?" Even Jen winced in sympathy. "Thats gunna cut him down a few bucks. Cloning is an expensive piece of work."
Drumming a bit on the steering wheel in thought, she was about to say more when a white squirtle suddenly jumped into the picture with a "dramatic" battle pose. "Yes, I do remember Beaker." She smiled at the pokemon but didnt reach out to pet her. They were almost there anyway. "We should be there in a few more hours, Nyx....If Im going the right way."
Yamir fluffed out and tried to look as innocent as possible at Nyx's question. Aeon, on the other hand, pointed at the pidgey...much to the formers' unhappiness.

After a few hours the discovered they had indeed been going in the right direction. The buildings grew in size as the drew nearer and nearer. Nyx directed her chauffeur through the streets and back allies on the way to the outpost. Eventually they stopped in the dingy ally Panther and Nyx had parked in before.
Nyx slid out of the car and started walking towards the seemingly-dilapidated stair way. Beaker followed close behind.
"Ok, so... I don't if anyone is here to greet us this time, but if you see a red head, don't trust him. I'm not completely sure he isn't a traitor and gave us the wrong one on purpose." Beaker grinned and looked ready for a fight as she heard her human talking to the other human.

Jen parked and locked the car, following Nyx down the dingy ally and towards the unsafe-looking stairwell. She gave it a critical look for a moment before shrugging. It wasnt a long way down and if it broke, they could always climb out or something.
"Red-head Grunt, gotcha." Jen cast Nyx a grin and thumbs up; on her shoulders, both Aeon and Yamir straightened up and looked alert. They, too, were ready if a fight flared up. "I'll make sure he gives us the right one this time. I shall double check it..." Jen grunted as she jumped down the last few steps of the stairs. The stairs themselves protested with a loud creak. "And you shall triple-check it!"

Said red head was actually waiting at the bottom of the stairs for them. Hearing Nyx's comment, Will coughed slightly, but was also fidgeting nervously.

She noticed Will. "Did you know pidgey was a legendary? Neither did I. But the superiors won't believe it, so we're back." Nyx wasn't happy and her sarcasm was almost dripping. The mix up almost got her in a load of trouble.
