I know there may be a thread for tournament ideas somewhere but im gonna post one on the main page lol.
Any one have a tournament idea that you would like to see in action? maybe the leaders and crew could set one up to pass time unless there isn't a tournament already coming up lol.

Zetshimaru would like to see different themes. Like say a color tournament where the pokemon teams are made from pokemon of a single color. List of pokemon grouped in color.
Or maybe by pokemon that live in similar terrain. Pal Park gives locations on where many pokemon would live (all but the 4th gen). Flame_Haze, Aria, and Zetshimaru did one time make a list on where the group missing pokemon would fit in, thus making it all 493 pokemon. Granted this list isn't perfect.
And finally pokemon could be split up by shape. Human shaped pokemon, 4 legged pokemon, and so forth. list of pokemon by body shape
Zetshimaru can't think of any other less common type themes. But this is the kind of thing Zetshimaru wants to see.

Could always go for a Tri-type tournament, like we have been, but instead stick with the Starter Triangle (Water, Fire, and Grass).

I was thinkin like a boxing ring tournament, with a one on one fighting type tournament. It would go exceptionally fast, considering we have ourselves a fighting type gym leader now lol. Heck, maybe kp could host the tournament and when there is a winner, the winner could go against kp with a one on one match lol

An interesting tournament(in my eyes) would be something really different like Zetshimaru suggested, something really weird, like shape or maybe the fact that these certain pokemon have tails and these pokemon don't have genders(excluding legends of course, cause that would be ridiculous).

That isn't that good of an idea. It would be much better if it were different types. With single types it wouldn't be very easy to have a choice scarf pokemon with a counter move for the given type.

We dod have at one point plans to throw a fighting tournament where only pokemon with actually fists including all the fighting types would be able to enter. It fell through when we all realized metagross would dominate. razz

To be completely honest, we are currently in the process and determining the format of the next tournament. If there is anything in particular that any of the members would like to see and compete in, your all more than welcome to post them here. So far, all the tournament ideas currently on the decision block are as follows:
Stadium Cups
Specific region
Tier Mono-types
Ubers
OU Metagame
UU/NU
Type Mono-types
Single Type
Combination of Types
Different Battle Format Double Battle
3-player team
VGC-style Tournament

Banned Pokemon: Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin and Arceus.
Restricted Pokemon (meaning a team may only use two of the following): Mewtwo, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Dialga, Palkia, Giratina.

Zetshimaru would think that any pokemon would be fine. Let trainers switch between. That makes it harder.
But the other wouldn't be bad either.

Zetshimaru also has been thinking that a roulette tournament might be fun. Granted Zetshimaru couldn't go into this kind of tournament for sheer lack of the amount of pokemon Zetshimaru has.
This kind of tournament might be better on Shoddy battle confused
