Was anyone else inspired to learn Capoeira after watching Mugen?
I remember reading about it when I was researching the show. Mugen's fighting style is said to be inspired by Caopeira. From there I looked it up and decided I'd give it a shot.
If you need or want more info on it Wikipedia it; they have more info than I can relate.

I've been wanting to learn it for a while. I wanted to learn it before I saw the show. And I think Mugen's style of fighting is self taught.

I started reading up on that to get my passions away from a geisha lol. Blonde don't make good geishas do they? My friend suggested i put everything from that into learning something like fighting... more fun than i'd have thought lol.

i've seen people doing capoeira on tv before and i thought it looked really cool. and after i've seen mugen, i was like, woah! awesome! i would never try it though. let's just say, it's best for my state of health and for the people around me sweatdrop

Capoeira is really cool. When I went to (excuse my dorkiness whee ) Japanese camp last summer, one of the clubs I chose was the Capoeira club. While Mugen's style of fighting is be similar, it's not 'break-dance fighting'. I'd like to learn more about it, but it requires quite a bit of grace. sweatdrop Besides Champloo, the only other form of media I've seen capoeira being demonstrated was that incredibly stupid movie 'Meet the Fockers' and that was a disgrace to it. stare
Watashi wa Meet the Fockers ga daikirai.
I think there are silly at-home video tapes about it and magazines for it, and like Berserker said, Wiki is a great place for it. It's awesome.

Awesome. capoeira rocks.. my bro took it for 2 years i think.. i learnt a bit, and its really cool. Mugen incorporates a bit of it into his fighting.. although its more "casual" and not as "formal" should i say.. neat stuff though.

his stance is not capoiera though. ive learned capoiera for about 8 months, its really hard to do some moves. i stopped because i broke my leg that one time, and i couldnt make the same stance ever since.

yeah if you actually watch him.. he never actually goes into jenga.. when in capoeira pretty much everything is done from that stance.. which in turn might branch off to another technique.. from everything i've seen, mugen never uses oen stance
