Jezebel was out on her stoop this evening, waiting for Pilot to get over there. When he'd finally returned from whatever outing he'd been on, Ophelia'd had him call her back, and she'd asked him to come over.
The girl was wearing jeans and a tank top today, her long brown curls fluffed out a bit - kind of like Tori's - let loose under a bandana to keep them out of her face. By her legs, Jeff the puppy was rushing around and barking playfully at things. He was a good dog.

Pilot had barley gotten back from his trip to the library to pick up some books on quantum physics before he was accosted by his Mom and ordered to call Jezebel. He’d been quite surprised about the invite before he remembered his promise to bring over some more comics for her and so he’d packed up a box of good comics and some graphic novels before heading over. Seeing the house he was told to come to come into sight he picked up his pace slightly, he knew Jezebel would be snappish if left waiting too long.
Spotting said girl come into view he shifted the box into one arm and with his other free one waved, calling out a greeting. As he got closer he noticed what she was wearing and had to fight down a blush, seeing her in informal wear was still such a new thing. Pilot himself was out of his usual ensemble because he’d manage to stain or damage every single pair of overalls he owned. Instead he was just wearing a plain white t-shirt and a pair of loose jeans. Trying to distract himself from how cute Jeze looked out at the moment he concentrated on the puppy, he didn’t think he’d seen a breed like it before but it looked quite cute and seemed to have a bunch of energy.

Jeff immediately bounded over to start barking at Pilot curiously before jumping up and trying to lick his face. The puppy didn't know who this was but Jeze's books smelled like him and she smelled like him sometimes too so that couldnt' be too bad right?
The girl snorted, "Down Jeff! You'll knock him over! Down!" she called, in a voice that was pretty and authoritative at the same time. It was so weird seeing her giving orders in a not-bossy or snobby way.
"Thanks for coming over." she said before pointing to another box on the stoop. "Here's the last lot back. I've been taking notes on them but so far nothing's really making sense for what I need to do."

Pilot saw the dog coming and braced himself, Chilli was slightly bigger than this dog so he knew how to handle large dogs. Giving a small ‘Ooph’ when the dog jumped on him he laughed as it licked him and petted it on the head; he sure was a friendly dog. Hearing Jeze call out to the dog he raised on eyebrow in question, “This is the Jeff you where talking about? I can see why you’d call him loyal.” He wasn’t at all sarcastic, he knew how loyal dogs where after all.
Walking to the other box he plopped the one he was holding down, he didn’t grab the other box just yet, after all they were chatting so he wasn’t going to leave straight away. “Oh? Throw some ideas at me, maybe I can help. Can’t have my Villainess being a bad Villain.” He offered with a smirk that was somehow friendly.

She snorted, pushing the two boxes back so they could sit on the stairs together. "You got a point there." she agreed, reaching out to pet Jeff's head when he put it in her lap.
"You are a droolmonster. A slobbery slobbery drool monster." she told him but scratched the pup behind his ears and pet him a bit before pushing his head off her knee. "Go be useful." It wasn't a command really, just her being silly. The dog seemed used to this and wandered away a bit to sniff at things again.
"He's a good boy." she agreed, a little smile on her face before turning back to Pilot.
"Well, I've read a lot of stuff but I dunno. A lot of them have really weird gimmicks." she explained.

Sitting down next to Jeze he watched her interact with Jeff, it was kind of cute. Laughing at the slobber monster comment he added wirily, “They tend to be like that.” . Watching Jeff wonder away he turned his attention fully to Jezebel. Returning her small smile he added softly, “He does seem to be. Bet he just adores you.”
When Jeze mentioned the weird gimmicks Pilot let out a huff of air, running his hand through his hair in his typical thinking gesture. “Well, I guess the reason for the gimmicks is that their like a calling card that proclaim ‘This was done by me and no one else can take the credit!’. They also help make each hero and villain unique and give them a certain flare. If I had to pinpoint my own it’d be my technomancy. It helps me be a whizz at building stuff and in a pinch lets me convince machines around me to help me out. Well most of the time. Older machines can be a bit grouchy.”

"You wouldn't believe how hard I had to work to get him." the girl grumbled, "I had to be NICE and WELL BEHAVED for a MONTH!" she grumbled, though it was obvious there was a twinkle of affection for the pup in her eyes and she seemed to smile more at the comment about him liking her.
"Yeah that I noticed." she commented, "If what I've been reading is right, I have to be magic based then."

“You? Nice and well behaved? For a MONTH? Pull the other one.” Though his words sounded a bit insulting his tone clearly stated that he was teasing Jezebel. Though it was odd to think of her as nice, nice was Patton or Kay not Jezebel.
“Yeah, magic would be right for you. No point in using technology if I could convince ‘em to turn on you. Though what kind is the question, I mean there are thousands of different branches. Technically speaking what I do is one of them. If you can’t find a magic that suits you though you COULD go the path of a fighter or a poison user but I don’t think either would be as equal as magic.”

"I know right? My mother asks just the most awful things of me." she joked, throwing a hand to her forehead in a mocking manner. "She makes me do chores too, what am I a housemaid?" she snorted at that. Actually, she'd kept up the habit of doing her chores out of sheer boredom and habit after the month was over.
"Nah, poison isn't my style and I don't like brute forcing if I don't have to. Though carrying around a big weapon would be fun."

Pilot tsked with her at her mother’s imagined slight. “That just can’t be, you might get dirty! Or your hands could prune from water or god forbid you could break a nail!” he said in an overly dramatic voice.
“Ahhh, your limiting your thoughts of a fighter, brute strength is but one style. Theirs long range weapons users who use things like bows and arrows or throwing knives, stealth users who sneak up on opponents and hit them before they see ‘em or there’s speedsters who dodge fast and strike quick.”

"Or you know, do something ridiculous like carrying jugs of bleach and detergent several blocks from the store and down stairs to do laundry, nope never happening." she said with rolled eyes and snorted. "Makes me dress in rags to do it too." No, that had definitely not been her choice to wear, nope. "Hey, don't you usually have on those funny pants? Overalls or somethin?"
"Mmmm maybe I'll look into it," she agreed, "but I dunno, magic's appealing for some reason. It just seems to fit."

Pilot eyed her clothing and couldn’t help but think that it defiantly wasn’t rags, in all honesty he preferred this outfit to her usual. “Yeah, Overalls. I managed to stain or tear all of them though in my lab work so I had to wear something else today.”
“Oh, I wasn’t saying be a fighter, just giving you the options. I agree that magic suits you more, though I’m still puzzled on what branch.”

"I'd comment on how you stained them, but that joke makes itself." she commented, snorted as Jeff brought Pilot a stick. "Looks like he wants to play."
"Eh, I'll look into it. My mom knows about Magic at the very least. She can show me."

Pilot gave Jezebel a blank stare at that comment, what did she mean? “I stained them working in the lab, most of the chemicals I was working with are highly corrosive and a stain can end up eating through the material...?”
“Well, when you get ideas for what types give me a shout, we have a lot of books, as you might imagine.”

"You'll get it when you're older." she told him, patting his arm lightly.
"I will. For now I'll just have to think on it. And on something to wear! Those gimmicky types have weird costumes."
