There were days, very rare days, but nevertheless, there were days that Libra was forced to question her own sanity. First partnering with Aquarius, and now with Gemini Beta? The blond shook her head, pushing stray blond hairs back as she waited for her patrol ally of the evening to show up. She glanced at the library's large clock tower, visible over many rooftops. It was 8:29:31. Gemini wasn't late. Yet.
Shifting her scales to hoist them over her shoulder, Libra wrinkled her nose and began to pace. Off to the west, the clock tower began to toll, signaling the half of an hour. The blond's restlessness turned into nothing shy of irritation, her face cloudy and gray as she stopped, heels clicking. The Zodiac pivoted on the empty roof, glancing around for Gemini. 8:31:45!
"Does timeliness mean anything to anyone anymore?"

"Not really, naw," Came a cheerful reply, the tartan'd form of Gemini Beta stepping into view a moment later. Her soft scottish shoes made no sound as she continued towards her patrol partner for the night, a large contrast to the pleasant clicking of Libra's against the sidewalk. Then again, it seemed there was much that was contrasting between the two. The Senshi of Balance was precise and elegant, a Crystal girl in the best sense of the word, something that Mackenzie certainly was not. She was also quite prompt, it seemed. Apparently when Libra said 8:30pm, she meant it.
Of course, on the opposite end of the spectrum, it was a miracle if either Gemini made it anywhere before midnight.
"I like to think I'm fashionably late," she continued after a second, offering a friendly smile the blonde's way and glancing up at the clock to judge just how late she really was. The smile quickly turned into a grin, as it often did, and Gemini Beta raised her eyebrows before returning sage-green eyes to the other Zodiac. "Although three minutes is a little much. I should have been here thirty seconds ago -- now that's fashionable."

Fighting the overwhelming urge to slap her hand against her face, Libra knew she only had herself to blame for partnering up up with Gemini Beta. She could have asked anyone, after all, she was only trying to avoid Aquarius, and perhaps she'd prefer the Senshi of Science to whatever she'd just gotten herself into. She did not like the look of Mackenzie's grin; nothing good could ever come from it.
Eying her fellow Zodiac like she had some sort of contagious disease, the blond cleared her throat and shook her head. "There is nothing fashionable about being late," she scolded Gemini, refusing to reward her incorrigible behavior. "What if something had happened in those three minutes? Hmm?" Not to say Libra couldn't take care of herself (because she most certainly could, thank you very much, Laocoon), but there was a point to these patrols and just because Mackenzie had a permanent partner didn't mean the rest of them did.
Waving her hand in dismissal, Libra paced to the edge of the roof and glanced down on the city, all the hustle and bustle of the day petering out as the citizens retried to their homes and the street lamps began to flicker on. "I thought we might examine the business distract of the city today. I do not think the youma are limited to any one part of the city, and I usually stick to the residential areas, myself." Giving Gemini a brief look, the blond hopped down from the low roof and paused to straighten her uniform as she waited for the other Zodiac to join her, clearly expecting her suggestion to be the one they followed.

"Chill out hun, I was kidding. I'm sorry I was late. Sincerely," Gemini Beta replied, pressing her palm against the double star pin at her chest, "I promise I'll try to do better next time."
Although it was a promise she intended to keep, the dismissing gesture from her nightly partner brought forth a slight shrug in response, and with that shrug went the last few minutes of conversation. Unlike Libra, the Geminis were a little more lighthearted in most everything they did. Broke a beer bottle? Oh well, I was almost done with that one anyway, time to buy another beer. They made mistakes, (lord knew,) but they didn't sweat the small stuff, and rectified where they could. Their heart (especially Andeon's, Mack couldn't help but think to herself) was in the right place, but Hakuna Matata seemed to be their ultimate moto.
Taking the low leap from the top of the building, the redheaded senshi gave a few skipping steps to catch up with Libra, giving the girl a cheery grin. "Off through the Emerald City then?" she replied questioningly, extending an arm as if expecting to skip down the 'yellow brick road.' Of course, she knew the blonde's response even before she made the joke.

Half expecting a 'cross my heart and hope to die', Libra did not take any such promises seriously at all. In fact, she almost Gemini hadn't meant it seriously, because if she had- The blond shook her head, not willing to process the complex notions she was about to digest while on patrol. She should be alert and wary, looking for youma around each and every corner! Opening her mouth to give her partner some instruction, she was cut short by the redhead's question.
"...what?" the Senshi of Balance said after a moment, brows furrowed together as she gave the other Zodiac a look that clearly read 'are you mentally afflicted?'. The culture reference flew right over her head; Giselle was much more the historical fiction kind of girl. Magic? Not really her thing. (Oh, there was so much irony in that.) "I said the business district. Honestly. Do you listen to anything?"
Feeling vaguely uncomfortable as she eyed the extended elbow, Libra decided the best course of action was to ignore it all together and continue walking, black and white heels clicking with purpose as she marched down the shadowy sidewalk. "So," she began, quickly filling the silence she'd created, "how have your patrols been going? Have you encountered anything out of the ordinary?"
