I went and got my own pair of goggles...

User Image

Ordered them off of Amazon for around 11 bucks or so and I was WAY more pleased with them than I imagined I would be.

As for the shirt, well, if any wonder I got the goggles for a Team Fortress 2 engineer costume for an up coming convention, but now that I have them, well, they're going to get more use than that ^^

And I would like to ask, any modding suggestions?

here's what I purchased.

I'm going to get me a pair of swanky goggles....from a local market...sells antiques....including goggles....anyways...CONGRATS on the purchase, the look amazing. In terms of modding, you could get some brass studs and put them in around the side (if the material isn't too fussy).

Was also thinking of painting the lens rims brass as well. They screw off so painting would be a breeze

Ditching the elastic strap in favor of leather with a buckle might be nice too

I bought the exact same goggles as my base and just with leather scraps and super-glue I get a ton of compliments on them whenever I go out to local SP meet-ups.

So, I like leather scraps affixed with super glue. I also fabricated a rough strap from a strip of leather.

If you want to change the color, be sure the use paints designed to adhere well to plastic. You might also want to go at it with some fine sand paper. The slight roughness will help the paint settle in.

I asked as Motor City COmic Con and they said Krylon paint is a good choice. As for finish, well, I don't exactly want to lose the smoothness.
